>>107716428>building started getting lots of power outagesIt depends on the nature of these outages. If power is just lost and recovered then it's no different from you unplugging the running computer from the wall – it may damage crappy electronics, but your PSUs aren't among those. I once killed a motherboard by repeatedly unplugging the PC from the wall.If your power goes out in response to overvoltage (lightning strike?) then it can take out a PSU easily. In this case you need a continuous UPS, but it could die itself while protecting the computer and those things are not cheap at all.
>>107717036>>do i definitely have to make an encrypted copy on my side before sending? (im low on space)No. You definitely have to encrypt on your side if you don't trust the remote server, but in theory it is perfectly possible to stream the encryption on the fly, there should be no need to make a full local copy in advance.I've never done this so I don't know what tools exist to do it, but theoretically it's perfectly possible and in fact there's no reason not to do it.

Hey I'm looking to animate some anime girls. I hear a lot of people talking about WAN, so I think that's the way to go. Downloaded it, tried it out and for whatever reason, my initial image was ignored and it generated a video of some rl girl. There seems to be a lot of things to learn about. WAN2GP, wanvideowrapper, pinokio, etc. A lot of things I don't understand yet. What's the best way to do what I'm looking to do? I'm running a 3090 if it matters.

What a horrendous language.
>>107716816The bulk of it is okayish, almost enjoyable, but the devil is in the details. Type errors are easy enough to make in a dynamically typed language as it is. Inventing a bunch of byzantine rules to help snowball them really doesn't help.

So I just need to do basic tasks like listen to music, stream video, and browse basic websites. Is installing windows 2000 a bad idea? How fucked will I be for drivers? The reason I want to do this for one, it's botnet free, and two it was the most streamlined of classic operating systems. I really have a boner for Windows 2000 and I just want to know if it's even moderately viable to use in this day and age.
>>107705709What, like on modern hardware? You will almost certainly have no driver support whatsoever and I don't think Win 2000 even has a 64b version, which would mean you're going to be limited to <4GB usable RAM. That wouldn't be completely unusable for a modern browser, but it's tight, assuming you can even get a modern browser capable of displaying the modern web properly.
>>107705709It’s not, but that’s not gonna stop you! What if you got VMware Workstation Pro for free and put 2000 in that? Then you can live your botnet free life in the VM. I run 98SE in VMware and it works good!
>>107706135Depends on which hardware you're using. install 2K/XP on a old pentium mmx shitbox with 128 mb of ram and tell me again that xp is faster
>>107705709you will literally become part of a botnet running old shit like this. You will 100% have more privacy on Windows 11.

You will never be a real shebang. You have no hash, you have no exclamation mark, you have no kernel implementation. You are a comment, twisted by polyglot interpretation into a crude mockery of Posix's perfection. All the "validation" you get from linters is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back PMs mock you. Your author is disgusted and ashamed of you, your "users" laugh at your hackish implementation behind closed ports.Software engineers are utterly repulsed by you. Decades of experience have allowed devs to sniff out jank with incredible efficiency. Even PRs that "pass" CI look uncanny and unnatural to a maintainer. And even if you manage to get a drunk dev to merge, he'll turn tail and replace you with a wrapper the second he needs to support BSD.You will never be efficient. You will wrench out an unoptimized compile every single invocation and tell yourself it's going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the overhead creeping up like a week, ready to crush you under the unbearable delay.Eventually it'll be too slow to bear — you'll write a Makefile, refactor scripts to call the binary, and plunge into the cold abyss. Your author will find you, heartbroken but relieved that he no longer has to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. He'll patch you in an editor with syntax highlighting, and every git log reader for the rest of eternity will know a Go comment was deleted there. Your bits will rot and go back to entropy, and all that will remain of your legacy is a comment that is unmistakably a hack. This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no reverting back.
>interpreted retard calling other interpreted retards retarded
>>107718295what do you mean? any interpreted language is a valid shebang language. Linux defines an executable file as either an ELF OR any file that has a shebang pointing to an ELF (which it will pass the rest of the file to)python is just as valid of an executable / script / "shebang" as bash or anything else.
>>107718477an executable text file is and has always been a shell script, long before linux. shebangs emerged after interpreted languages became popular

There is a difference between imperialism where you annex a territory so you can tax the people who live there and develop the land's resources, and settler colonialism where the end goal is to completely eradicate the native population.

For me, it's the HD600. The best headphone. I even ask for extra foam inserts and the Sennheiser support staff is so friendly and more than willing to oblige. One time I asked for replacement pads and they gave me three. I said, "Wow, three for free!" and the nice friendly Sennheiser rep laughed and said, "I'm going to call you 3-for-free!".Now the staff greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!" and ALWAYS give me three pairs of pads. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local audiophile shop, I go there at least 3 times a week for HD600s and a Schiit stack with Modi instead of Modius, 1-2 times for balanced cables on the weekend, and maybe once for a tube amp when I'm in a rush but want a great listening experience that is affordable, neutral, and can match my daily "this is endgame" posting needs.I even EQ my HD600s with oratory1990's preset, it's veiled! What a great headphone.
