I'll check it out on my laptop then while I still got Rufus on Windows 7 ready, should I grab the LTS release or latest stable release?

Only reason I switched away from XFCE to KDE is XFCE kept giving me screen tearing in games that aren't particularly graphicly intensive (notably Factorio). Yes I tried compton or pico or whatever its called now. KDE, dare I say it, just works.

>be me sick of Google's telemetry and Apple's walled garden looking into actual alternatives that aren't just "LineageOS with MicroG" memes

I'm considering doing a custom GrapheneOS build for Pixel 9a to get more or less something a bit more privacy oriented and with only select apps, domain blocking at build time. Basically trying to avoid killing myself with goyslop.

Post your setups and let me know your experience with Graphene build system or any other options.

Fair point on the hardware irony, but Pixels are basically the only option if you want a verified boot chain that isn't completely fucked. I'm not trying to escape some three-letter agency, just want fewer apps passively wasting my time and less Google Services bloat phoning home every 5 seconds.

If you've got a better hardware option that supports proper custom ROM security features I'm all ears. Otherwise I'm just trying to build something that doesn't actively try to addict me to scrolling feeds.
>>
>>107613339
Don't bother with it too much. What are you doing on your phone, that's so important. My phone is a glorified music player with call and text functionality. I pay 5€/year for prepaid(that's the best you can do for privacy on a phone. I know it's not posibble in "land of the free") and keep mobile data turned off.
I don't really believe that Google's hardware is inherently more evil than Qualcomm or Mediatek or whatever but their phones suck. They got rid of SD-cards on first gen Pixels when they were still common. It's designed for people to use along with other services like Google Cloud and latest android updates.
The GrapheneOS guy(powerword: Daniel Micay) is a dick and a lolcow. There used to be projects like DivestOS(Lineage with relock bootloader and other added functionality) that mysteriouslt disappeared.

Only fixed in the KurobaEx beta builds, no updated real release yet.

It's nice to have a working captcha again but some of the UI changes in this beta build are a bit weird.

You can use the privacy.sexy site, there is an option which generates PowerShell commands for you to copy and paste, which disable those things, you don't need to install or download anything.
Honestly it's probably the best solution, there is way too much of this shit to disable in few various menus to click all of that manually.
