They will still be hit. But it will be interesting to see if Apple ups their ram pricing. They were already charging $200 for an additional 8gb.

Why don't they just make more ram? Isn't that what supply and demand says, that high prices will incentivize higher supply?

Very expensive to get start up in the semiconductor space or even its back end supply side of it. Its why america bailed out the car industry in 2009 since they wanted military manufacturing incase shit goes tits up again like WW2 did and because it's extremely expensive to start up car manufacturing even with venture capital.

READ THE (temp)WIKI! & help by contributing:

/hsg/ is about learning and expanding your horizons. Know all about NAS? Learn virtualization. Spun up some VMs? Learn about networking by standing up a OPNsense/PFsense box and configuring some VLANs. There's always more to learn and chances to grow. Think you’re god-tier already? Setup OpenStack and report back.

>What software should I run?
Install Gentoo. Or whatever flavor of *nix is best for the job or most comfy for you. Jellyfin/Emby/Plex to replace Netflix, Nextcloud to replace Googlel, Ampache/Navidrome to replace Spotify, the list goes on. Look at the awesome self-hosted list and ask.

>Why should I have a home server?
De-botnet your life. Learn something new. Serving applications to yourself, your family, and your frens feels good. Put your tech skills to good use for yourself and those close to you. Store their data with proper availability redundancy and backups and serve it back to them with a /comfy/ easy to use interface.

I decided RAID was a meme and have downgraded to no redundancy on my NAS. I will just monitor the disks to make sure they are healthy.

I have 3 different backups of varying frequency and depth, 1 or 2 of which I will probably do more frequently now while paying closer attention to the main array's disks health.

You have your pool, and in that pool you have vdevs (virtual devices). The pool always stripes data accross all of the vdevs in the pool. The vdevs are where the actual raid happens. So my server currently has a pool with one vdev. That vdev is 7 drives in a raidz2. That means it has 2 discs worth of parity data. At some point I'm going to add another indentical vdev to the pool, but vdevs can be different. Different sized drives and different ammounts of drives. The important thing to note is that the pool is doing a stripe accross your vdevs, so if one vdev goes down it will take the entire pool. So don't do a 10 drive raidz3 then expand with a 5 drive striped vdev.

I think it could definitely work. Give it a try and see if it sucks or not. I heard about people doing this like 2-3 years ago when the models were notably shittier, so I'd expect it to work really well nowadays, but you can never know for sure until you try it.

ITT we share helpful firefox user_prefs that make it better. I'll start.

user_pref("full-screen-api.transition-duration.enter", "0 0");
user_pref("full-screen-api.transition-duration.leave", "0 0");
user_pref("full-screen-api.warning.timeout", 0);

This removes the annoying banner saying press ESC to exit fullscreen every time you fullscreen a yt video.

user_pref("media.videocontrols.picture-in-picture.video-toggle.has-used", true);
user_pref("browser.engagement.downloads-button.has-used", true);

With this in your user.js before you open the browser it won't popup instructions on obvious features. I have a pretty big user.js based on betterfox that disables telemetry and toggles all the settings the way I like them so it's completely configured on install without doing anything, and then I've added a bunch of minor quality of life conveniences like these. Share yours anons.

I always wondered how you’re even supposed to compare checkpoints. Do you just generate 100 images with one model and then 100 with the other, for the same set of seeds and for the same tags, and then for each pair you compare them and pick your favorite, tallying up the count? Do you test for a wide range of CFGs, or samplers, or steps, to see if either model works better at some specific settings?

And at the end of the day, a lot of this seems very subjective. It’s one thing to test for prompt adherence (and even that is to some extent subjective) but when it comes to “quality” I feel like there’s too much in play to properly compare two sets of pictures.

Is there anything even remotely close to an objective metric here?
>>
>>107633509
Gen some grids, focusing on the parts that are most important to you.
>>
>>107633509
Checkpoint comparisons are subjective and personal, you need to test models yourself with YOUR specific prompts characters then share it and maybe there'll be some anon who's looking for exactly what you did.

>>
>>107633673
How long does it take to gen with Qwen and what is your gpu? If it's like minutes for one pic I'd rather still use CN probably, unless you get great results in like a couple tries max?

the russians did start it no doubt, but they kind of have to, if Putin lets NATO put anti-nuke bases around his entire border minus China, he loses his M.A.D. status as having to fire nukes into orbit to avoid anti-ICBM sites gives a huge time-advantage to american and euro ICBMs.

He'd have gotten Gaddifi'd within a decade max if he didnt invade Ukies to get more territory and a better angle for his nukes. And then you'd have a Libya 2.0 thats 20x the size, and its sitting right above europe. The refugee floods, the child s*x trafficking, the jewish organ harvesting operations, all the millions of dead whites, it'd be even more horrific than this current globohomo war.

How’s BB? Their brand name sounds a bit more trustworthy thank the various alphabet soup ones. I’m looking for wood router bits, of which they’ve also got some, I’d assume you can extrapolate from their metal wares. That said, my JGZUI one I used to route some t-tracks into my workbench is quite ok. The shank is just a bit bigger than 6mm, so I have to remove to collar to get it out. Mildly annoying but for 2.something €, I guess that’s ok.

And how do you print a document, it's file > print, correct?

No? Wait, the entire menu at the top of the screen has been removed? Ctrl-p to print?

And then you realize that everything is really /x/. They got rid of the menu at the top of the screen, and they listened to all of the IT phone calls this resulted in, and the elites did all kinds of gambling about these IT phone calls. That's what actually happened.

Windows 11 is like they sat around a table, discussed every single thing that made Windows 7 good, and decided to remove those features. Why? In doing so, it gave them something to gamble about.

The war in Ukraine? Gambling. Gaza? Gambling. Mass shootings? Gambling. Healthcare? Gambling. Shitty software? Gambling.

etc etc etc
