I'm having a (not so) small issue with my Windows installation. Whenever I boot up my PC, I get a KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED BSOD after which the computer reboots on its own and gets back into the system. The cycle repeats on the next reboot. Going into the BIOS after the BSOD triggers it again once I come out.

I'm pretty sure this happened after I uninstalled Docker Desktop and Hyper-V. I tried re-enabling Hyper-V just in case, to no avail. I've also noticed that occasionally I will have an issue where I get a completely black screen from the BIOS all the way to the login screen and to fix this I need to remove a RAM stick and reinsert it. I don't think it's a RAM issue, however, as I can load into Hiren's BootCD just fine.

I have tried DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and sfc /scannow, as well as updating my OS but the issue persisted. Has anyone else here had any similar experiences and might be able to help, or is my only option reinstalling Windows?

The BSOD doesn't budge and follows the exact same pattern every single time, even if removing a RAM stick entirely (either one). What sucks is that I can't get a good idea of what drivers are launching on startup either, since boot logging only works when the OS boots successfully for some reason...

It can't only be RAM, even if that's a factor, it's way too consistent with its pattern, unless I'm missing something as to how Windows works at a core level.

I purchased this recently for $2000. Was it a good decision? It was on sale, the best specs I could find for the price and form factor. It has a fit and finish approaching a modern MacBook (although a slightly thicker design, but not much) and it can run all muh games at ultra settings at 120 fps or above. More importantly, I think it'll be good for tinkering with LLMs and for productivity. I may dual boot Linux on it.

Battery life is okay at around 6 real world hours on battery with minimal tweaking (using the integrated graphics only), and in performance mode it really does run quite well.

I have a week to return it, though. Thoughts? Can I do better for the same price or less without sacrificing anything big? My other laptops include an old MBP and a ThinkPad x220.

specs:
3k 120hz OLED display with G-Sync (looks great in static images, does not particularly impress me in motion)
AMD 9 HX 370
5070 Ti (laptop), I think it's slightly underpowered to fit in such a small chassis, but I don't really know any better and it's still the most powerful GPU I've ever used, I think.
good speakers, decent keyboard, overall just a nice build.

CSAR better known as chat control is a new EU law proposing that all websites allowing user uploads implement software so that all videos,URLS,Audio and text is reviwed by an AI before it's even sent with the pourpose of stopping CSAM that will be voted on in September 12th
Similar laws in Switzerland and Ireland worked horrendously bad with the AI having a 90% false flag rate and led to events like a man being jailed for 48 hours for emailing himself naked pictures of his wife who was 4'11 that were flagged by the AI as CSAM

People don't clean, mine, or drive busses because it's their joy and passion. It is only a job, and nothing more. Same with programming. I'm a programmer, and I don't feel as though there's anything inherently wrong with AI-generated code.

AI generated art, on the other hand? It just feels like a complete waste of time to me, because part of what makes art interesting to me to begin with, is the fact that other human cared enough to take the time to represent that idea in the way that they did, instead of just effortlessly prompting it. I care about the effort that went into art because I look at art to feel impressed, and other emotions like that. Algorithmically generated slop is boring in comparison.

Damn, you AI fags would literally do anything else other than actually creating art and developing your skills. Creating art is equally enjoyable as practicing and working to perfect it. But you would know that if you actually loved what you do. You just want a machine to churn out your "creativity". Sorry, but art doesn't work that way, and it never will.

I will not waste a second of my time over what a random pixel generator cooked up, however, many times I find myself zooming over a piece of art, or comics, taking in the details, and more often than not you find funny fuck ups or even easter eggs in there
One of my favorite memories is me and my friends looking for Rembrandt hiding himself in his paintings
I have never looked at an AI slop image that did anything to me, and even when one piques my interest, the moment I notice it's AI, I lose all interest.
