/hsg/ is about learning and expanding your horizons. Know all about NAS? Learn virtualization. Spun up some VMs? Learn about networking by standing up a OPNsense/PFsense box and configuring some VLANs. There's always more to learn and chances to grow. Think you’re god-tier already? Setup OpenStack and report back.

Install Gentoo. Or whatever flavor of *nix is best for the job or most comfy for you. Jellyfin/Emby/Plex to replace Netflix, Nextcloud to replace Googlel, Ampache/Navidrome to replace Spotify, the list goes on. Look at the awesome self-hosted list and ask.

Nah so far overspecing has worked out in my favour. I've grown into every system and switch/router I bought and even had to update some despite being ridiculously overspeced at the time because I actually needed more RAM.

but he's shared some useful concepts.

To access your home server from outside,
>get a static ipv4 vps (all of them have this). I use Vultr (don't let the Redditors make you afraid of them)
>put wireguard on it
>connect your home wire guard client (client 1) to the wiregaurd server on the vps
>at the cafe, connect your laptop/phone to the VPS via wire guard (client 2)
>because wg is bidirectional, you can forward all client2 traffic to client1
>do that via iptables (wg2 -> wg1 interfaces) or via ssh once connected to the wg server
>for ssh, wireguard typically has lan ips like 10.x.x.x e.g. 10.66.66.2

Hi, I'm a tourist from the other boards looking for some advice of a purchase, I checked your other generals and I don't think it this question fits there, so here goes.

I am a pervert that has come to enjoy having his hentai late at night on the bed, and while that includes the usual reading manga and doujins, I would also like to play nukiges. so I'm looking for a tablet PC that I could use on bed. I have one of those convertible 14 inch laptops that you can flip all the way back, but that's too big and unwieldy to use late at night laying in bed, Ideally I would like to find something like an ipad, but that runs windows. I know some people tried that back in the day, I remember the HP tablet disaster, but now all I find are ipads and galaxy tablets. and while some hentai games and nukiges have android versions, I would like the flexibility of being able to install everything and anything I want instead of being cucked by that one game company that doesn't release APKs. is there something like that out there that you could recommend me to get?

I know nukiges and visual novels are not that graphic intensive, but the time I tried them on Android they were really overheating my smartphone, so something with a nice processor and decent cooling would be nice as well. I don't want to spend millions of dollars either, which is why I haven't looked at Microsoft Go tablets since those are more expensive than a fully-fledged laptop. Is there something like that out there? Or should I just give up and pony up like $500+ dollars for a Go tablet with shit options unless I buy the expensive packages?

Well he didn't start out with a browser, he had a drug problem and wanted to spend his free time productively, so he created an operating system from scratch, that project included a browser and he got a pretty penny through some sponsorships to dedicate his time working on the browser, which is why he stopped working on the operating system.

Why is it that every time a distro that vastly improves the end user experience arrives, retards like this show up just to shit on it. No, you're not special for wasting your time on half broken shit distros or "muh minimalism" distros which would take an average person a whole week to set up.

I am going to buy literally everything on ali that could be considered a sex toy and will report back in a year if I get cancer
>>
>>106522885
>how do you avoid the "buy cheap, buy twice" thing?
chinkshitting is a skill, just like any other thing that you can learn. The tricks of the trade are many, but the biggest takeaway that I think too few people understand is that the chinese are the ultimate libertarians.
They will sell you what you ask for.
That means if you look for the absolute lowest priced item of a category, and filter by price, they'll give you exactly what you asked for: An item that was engineered to perfect to be cheap to manufacture. You can go on temu and find a tent for 20€. It will suck ass in any way you can think of: Too heavy, no breathability, cheap stakes, hard to assemble, but by god, it'll be cheap. If you just need something to have over your head for that one festival that's not during peak summer and you'll likely not use it ever again so it won't matter if a drunk guy falls on it and it breaks, that's a great deal. If you want a hiking tent - it's not.
If you go and instead of asking for the cheapest possible tent, you ask for a upper mid market tent with premium features for a fair price, you can find that too. Naturehike makes those for example. You'll get premium features, at mid market prices. But if you don't know what to care for in a tent, you might miss it.

A lot of the "chinese stuff is low quality" view (prejudice) in my opinion, comes from westerners going for the absolute cheapest they can find an item and then being surprised if it's shit.
In the west, you can often buy the cheapest of an item, because there's a high chance it's "good enough" - it'd be socially unacceptable to sell something that barely fits the criteria. In china, the safety inhibitors are off so to speak, you're expected to be an adult and to know what you're asking for.

TL;DR: Don't go for the absolute cheapest shit and you'll get great quality.

find any char that isnt conformant with expectations, just in an asynchronous manner
so as to make it easier for the cpu to maximize ILP
bc its async hronous with a couple fences (aka plces where computation synchronizes. gpgpu term, but its the best one i know)
>>
>>106524075
what expectations?
>>
>>106524048
>find any char that isnt conformant with expectations, just in an asynchronous manner
it takes chars 8 by 8
it maximizes the throughput up to 64 bit architecture without calling on arch intrinsics
theres alot of thought that wend into it
kinda redundant bc theres an idiomatic way to force the same
its just that i say that in an explicit manner
>>
>>106524109

btw
strictly inferior to doing that with avx tier intrinsics
its just that it maximizes bus width based in the architecture
liken portably
and without ifdefs and other, related shit
