Windows users really have it rough, while macOS still feels and works pretty much the same as it did back in Mojave's 2018 release, aside from a few minor UI tweaks and some enhanced features, macOS remains cozy.
>>
>>107870482
I'd say MacOS' UI and layout hasn't changed all that much since the OG Mac OS X. It's not like Windows where every other release they feel like they need to experiment with their design philosophy.

there are two types of trackers, private and public and p2p is for everyone but trackers are not. no one can make protocol private and everyone can make tracker to be private. you seems to be confusing p2p which is a protocol and tracker communities, which are either public, or private.
>Seed the fucking public release so it doesn't die

now you get it why the fuck is any private tracker better than public tracker, but if you want, you could make a thread for reseed at public tracker forum.

And break compatibility with sites already rolling it out? Sounds great.

>>107866265
Users do however care about brands. JPEG is a familiar name, and JXL has the massive advantage of inheriting its image, pardon the pun. AVIF is a useless descriptor of the format. Is it like a PNG? Is it like a JPEG? Is it a new and improved version of the AVI video format?

I don't know about /a/ since I don't go there, but he did in fact return to /g/ and clarify the situation in an attempt to curb the schizoposting, but that is evidently in vain. See >>107865172
https://desuarchive.org/g/thread/102581788/#102597092

To clarify, pixDAIZ was a low-IQ impersonator and AVIF shill who used to post here and got BTFO with facts and logic by yours truly on multiple occasions. After he "vanished", everyone started accusing each other of being him, hence I adopted a tripname to distance myself. Daiz, the one actually going by the H264 tripcode, posted in favor of JPEG XL, which should already make it obvious that we are dealing with a different person to anyone who isn't suffering from Fregoli syndrome.
The real question is, did pixDAIZ really vanish? There have been a couple of other of pro-AVIF tripfags that acted suspiciously similar to him, but I err on the side of caution as the scientifically-minded skeptic I am.

I need a new phone, I am still using my iphone SE i got maybe 7 years ago. I got it for like 350€ new back then, prices have become ridiculous since then. What phone would you recommend in a similar price range? I already looked at the Poco X7 Pro, Poco F7, Samsung A56 and Motorola Edge 60 Neo. I don't really want fiddle with it atm, so I am probably going with the Samsung. Thoughts? Any other decent options I missed?

Light use mostly. Browsing, music, manga, movies and maybe some gacha games but it's not a priority at all. I was thinking of getting the Samsung for Samsung pay, but Google pay exists so maybe it doesn't matter.
I also just saw that the Motorola Edge 50 Neo is available for much less than the current model and with more ram and storage.

When it comes to low level development you really have two options: C and Rust, or as I like to call it, CRust for short. anytime you need real performance you gotta bust out the CRust. Bust the CRust

C > Rust will be a massive pain in the ass for most people. The Rust way of doing things is often unique to Rust. With Rust you need to spend a lot of time learning Rust specific things so don't waste your time in C where you have complete freedom to do whatever you want, it will only make the jump harder.
>>
>>107870501
Rust has more in common with C than with C++ or D.
Nearly all of C semantics(minus -> operator) are available in Rust and useful if you are doing low level interfaces. If you were to implement eg linked list, it's going to be much easier to understand the point of NonNull<*mut ()> if you already know what a pointer is and how you deal with them.

Now, it's not unheard of Python or JS programmers picking up Rust and getting along with it just fine. Still, having some priori understanding of systems programming is definitely going to make the process smoother. C is a simple language and you will need to learn it sooner or later if you ever deal with FFI or referencing existing C implementations, so it's better to just start with it imo.

At first I thought - ok another "LLM is la bad" guy - but then he cries about planet earth and some other dubious shit.

Anyway, yeah code written by LLM is just not good. "Movies" are also terrible. LLMs lack attention span for both. Are ok with short code snippets SOMETIMES (but hallucinate too much to trust them, always double-check) and still images / very short clips.
