>Use KDE gayland, everything is slow, low fps, input lag, weird frame pacing that doesnt feel smooth even with a smooth frametime graph in games

>Use X11 with Xmonad Tiling window manager, It just werks, everything werks, no latency or input lag
>High FPS, gaming just werks and I get 20fps+ more than gayland for some reason and its buttery smooth
>Fast with zero bloat, Configure everything to my liking

At this point, I wont even use any desktop environment on linux if it isn't X11. Even XFCE is dead to me because it has wayland support. I will never support anything wayland based on linux.
I'm X11 pilled.

14th gen i9 + 4080 laptop here
Should I do it ?
>>
>>107643529
Why does my computer get like 20 less fps and seem worse on wayland then?

This is a big problem. I have an AMD PC with a 5600X+6700XT.
>>
>>107643518
Now try without compositor.
>>
>>107643539
It's a known fact, that wayland is having performance issues with games but it is not severe.
Work arounds like running dedicated gfx server just for steam or whatever are also an option though.

But what you're describing in your post is clearly not how Wayland+ kde behaves.
In fact, wayland+kde is even more fluid than x + compositor.

source: i switched from X to wayland kde on debian.
>>
>>107643564
Its broken by design because wayland still uses X11 even as its own display protocol it has to rely on xwayland bridge.

It is an embarrassment to the linux desktop, for what? HDR? People who cant buy the same model monitor?

I'll start with Miranda NG.

dont care. it just werks. and I don't need a multiboot USB drive with a billion OSes on it because I don't reinstall my OS every two weeks like a tranny. I only reinstall OSes when I get a new computer, because my windows 7 install doesn't break every time I updooooot my arch repos.
so that means I only install an OS once every few years at most

If you update the installer it doesn't install the OS.
If you update the system it displays "system component crashed".
If you run memtest86+ for 12 hours it says "PASSED".

Other than shitholes with even worse problems like Japan, there's not much about America that countries like Britain or france arent objectively inferior to. They willingly cast their values and heritage and art into the inferno like a Jew tosses the body of a goy 9 month old into his fireplace. America may be consumer culture incarnate and valueless but it's much worse to destroy values you have than never have any

I tried solving them naively with a LLM, but I get mixed results. Since nothing supports my GPU, I'm running it on the CPU, so it's small and slow. I'll either have to put my nvidia GPU into my server, or pay for some service, but I'm not too eager.
>>
>>107643230
Just running them through AI won't work, you need to manually train model that's how AI solver on Leto site works: new captcha get introduced, manual captcha being forced for everyone, ML model gets real training data, once target accuracy reached manual captcha is disabled for goldpass users

Most Americans probably are not aware of the extent of their surveillance state because it doesn't typically make noise about it unlike the UK where you go to prison for deadnaming and the government still hasn't even apologized for imprisoning people over software they knew was faulty because it was easier to send white men they knew were innocent to prison than admit they made a mistake.

>it's not legal to take action so we literally can't do anything about it
this mentality is precisely why you will always remain goycattle no matter what.

Since Floens, Dickcheese and Ponyfucker are all dead, in this thread we worship Dimitri for being the only faggot still doing his job, but we also throw shit at him for his questionable design choices.
My 2 cents:
Catalog search does not filter, it's just Ctrl+F
You can sort bookmarks in the bookmarks menu but not in the bookmarks swipe tab
Scrollbar is ugly and thick
Pic attachment is not I'm the reply area but it's on the opposite side of the screen
In the bookmarks tab, what's the difference between "unbookmark" and "delete"?
You can't swipe bookmarks away to unbookmark

Pls fix

How do we save Linux desktop?

>>107642570
get rid of all Linux userspace components and replace the whole thing with Wine. allocate 90% developer budget and manpower to improving Wine so that it works with all Windows apps. Then 10% developer budget on developing a pixel-perfect clone of the Windows Aero user interface components and other built-in applications such as Notepad and Paint.
Then stand back and appreciate Linux® JustWerks™ edition. Everyone will flock to it and Microsoft will go bankrupt.
>>

The win32 api also sucks…

Desktop wise, the NextSTEP/Mac OS X have the best APi, so GNUSTEP is unironically a good sugestion by anon here >>107642862
>>
Something you will notice about Linux is that it could easily be fixed by a dedicated team of developers with the sole goal of creating a good desktop operating system, but nobody has attempted this as of yet. Why? Because every competent developer quickly abandons the idea (if it even comes to them in the first place) when they realise that windows is perfectly fine and any and all complaints about it are minor nitpicks
>>
>>107643520
upstream on linux is either a brown 17 year old or a terrorist autogynephile so you if you wanted to fix anything you would have to do everything yourself and at that point you might as well write your own os
