Zoomers do not know what a screen saver is

How would that have not been better in the olden days?
The burn-in part is true, but displays are still prone to damage if they project the same image for a long time.

Google's proprietary services are a massive threat towards privacy, because it's their business model. Security is top notch and the way apps are distributed through the play store is very secure. GrapheneOS never claims otherwise. It's on you to give apps certain permissions in the profiles you feel comfortable with. You are not required to install anything from google or use any app that has Google libraries built-in. They even recommend that for privacy and advice you to install apps directly from the developer through obtanium. Doesn't take anything away from f-droids security flaws though, which they rightly point out.

>>
>>107746835
We? Who's we? You mean the people that keep trying to shame me for heating with a wood stove while they're busy dumping plastic and chemicals in the river? Those people? The same ones that send me a shitty re-compressed .webp via their MitM servers when I clearly requested the original .png from the website I wanted to visit? Those people?

You do mean the people that over charged us for gasoline for the last several decades who are now shilling EVs built out of ticky time bomb batteries that cost $10k+ to replace every 8 years, right? The ones that want me to live in a 15 minute city and never have freedom of movement again, those people?

Hint: You're fucking retarded. I don't have these problems. I own land. I have plenty of oxygen and I chop down trees every year for fun (and heat). I'm never ever stopping so you can deal with it. Maybe you should move out of whatever shithole you're currently occupying instead of watching so much TV.

I had a kernel panic on OpenBSD today, 7.8. Not sure what caused it, nothing in the logs. The screen was a mishmash of garbage with nothing useful sadly. I've had this happen like 2-3 times in the last decade of being an OpenBSD user. One time it was because I needed to reseat the RAM. This was on my t520, maybe I finally need to repaste the thing and reseat all the connections in case of slow galvanic corrosion. It's pretty old at this point.

fsck fixed it np, and I keep versioning backups of my home directory as well as /etc/ in case it all totally shits I can just plunk everything back into place as it was. But that's weird. Cosmic ray? RAM jiggle? who knows.
>>
>>107746488
shit hardware
>>
>>107746596
Nah it's rock solid, I've had months of uptime with this thing. I just reboot when there's a kernel patch requiring it.

Cosmic ray, galvanism, something. Anyway this is still a top of the line laptop, you can't even buy something with a proper keyboard any more. It's fully supported by OpenBSD and always works great. Something happened.
