>and it outputs a list of files I send through xargs -0 to mv or rm. Unix philosophy is alive and well, even today....
That's because you don't know how to write a program. Unfortunately you still have to deal with the brain-damaged C language and null-terminated strings, but "xargs -0 to mv or rm" is not how you're supposed to do it.

True, Luke Smith turned minimalism into a meme for larpers who do nothing but tinker when the goal should be the opposite. A true minimalist gets an AE86 Trueno off craigslist, a larper straps a rocket on a unicycle.

For example, I just switched to wezterm. All of my widgets, like in pic below, rely on keybindings and window rules to function. All of them had to be changed. I can't imagine trying to get a window to the exactly correct place on the screen after resizing it, when you have to recompile each time things don't line up. Further, if I come up with a handy script, I can incorporate it into my config in minutes.

Nope, I have maybe 7 Pi 0Ws in a drawer and maybe 2 of the Pi 3s. At one point I really did use almost all of them: I treated them as low power single purpose machines: NAS, DNS, Jellyfin, reverse proxy, and multiple websites. It made sense when it was just 2 or 3 things because the Pi 0W uses like 2 W of power. But now I use proxmox for all that.

having no captcha better.

Browsers. Firefox is okay, but its recent decisions make me want to switch. I use Linux, which gives me a bit more variety. I tried to use a terminal-based web browser as my main browser, but it won't work for everything.

I am considering switching to Brave, but I am not so sure about that.

Does any anon know some good browsers?

I've tried Palemoon and I mostly like it but its version of ublock origin is too old and doesn't have custom filters and its extension of choice for that has a different syntax and I can't get most of my filters working on it and there's zero documentation on what its syntax is supposed to be.

try to use surf like I do. its a huge pain in the ass but if you make a bunch of wrappers to easily access your favorite websites its decent.

Use this default

surf -D -z 1.3 "$@" &

for example I have a bash wrapper named 4chan_g that auto loads /g/ in surface from those settings

I like how customizable Pale Moon's interface is and appreciate its "Firefox 3 philosophy" but unfortunately it lacks compatibility with many modern web features and most extensions created after 2018 won't work on it. I realize that Pale Moon is maintained by a small team but the core developers are not the nicest people to work with and much of their past behavior is uninviting for potential new contributes. They got rid of their most problematic developer but the stink still sticks to their brand.
>>
>>107627303
Waterfox is the most direct switch, is basically just firefox with a little more privacy defaults and no AI.
LibreWolf is even more hardened, though it can break some websites with how strict it is.
Floorp is very customizable and no AI shit.
Zen is a really unique way of doing browsers you may love or hate, also stated there'd be no AI shit.

Are you still with us, Doctor Freeman? Not for much longer I think.

goddamn snow camo they think they're funny, "hey Dave remember my nintendo glock from last week? check this out, snow shotgun!" then when one such actual shotgun eventually gets used in a crime disguised in plain sight as "just a snow shotgun" the police gets wary of them. then one day Bobby shows off actually-just-snow shotgun to his friends, a cop shows up and PUT THE FUCKING GUN DOWN *BANG BANG* and before you know it, the shotgun shatters into a million pieces, proving it was just a fake shotgun made of snow

When You REALISE crt is thE PInnacLe of human technology and is a step back. you can literally feel the difference and the power of crt technology

crt was copied by reverse engineering alien ET tech. were so primitive in our understanding it that we barely even scrached the surface of what can be done with crt applications

then we abandoned it entirely because lcd is cheaper. that was stupid because we already hit a dead end

crt can have the resolution the size of an electron that would bE essentially 1 pixel. 8k is basically nothing. iTS A disastER WEVE had crt innovation paused for 20 years
>>
>>107628571
>crt can have the resolution the size of an electron
i guess they could make it that small but it would be logistically challenging and i feel like at a certain point wouldnt there not be a perceptible difference between that and a super high resolution
kinda like how you cant tell the difference between super high refresh rates
>>
>>107628914
i mentioned crt applications have barely had the surfaced. its not just displays. crt technolgy branches with many other technolgies just displays. not even just isolated to visual tech
>>
>>107628459
CRTs are still kind of nifty for one purpose: reducing lag. They're still good for fast twitch games, but there are modern alternatives to CRTs.
>>
>>107628459
If it's so great why don't they make CRTs anymore?

IT WILL GIVE IT NEW LIFE BRO JUST TRUST ME BRO JUST TRUST ME ON THIS ONE!!!!! OKAY???!!!!!

oh btw don't use the new kernels, oh and if your laptop has an IGPU and a DGPU (90% of laptops), they're probably going to be too old for linux support :)

Why are Linuxfags such filthy liars? Yeah I love setting up a command first hand for everything I launch because A: Linux doesn't support the BIOS firmware and B: Igpu might shit itself from just opening up a youtube video because its too retarded to understand the concept of igpus and dgpus like windows does.

Linux is dogshit for most older laptops. You're better off just unhooking it from the internet and installing XP or windows 7

your news is out of date friendo

Since Floens, Dickcheese and Ponyfucker are all dead, in this thread we worship Dimitri for being the only faggot still doing his job, but we also throw shit at him for his questionable design choices.
My 2 cents:
Catalog search does not filter, it's just Ctrl+F
You can sort bookmarks in the bookmarks menu but not in the bookmarks swipe tab
Scrollbar is ugly and thick
Pic attachment is not I'm the reply area but it's on the opposite side of the screen
In the bookmarks tab, what's the difference between "unbookmark" and "delete"?
You can't swipe bookmarks away to unbookmark

Pls fix

Ah I see what's happening now, my OS overrides it. Even if I set left edge sensitivity to lowest it's 50/50 whether it will pull out the drawer, or trigger the back command. Even more annoying for being unpredictable.
Maybe if the drawer active zone was wider in thread view it would be better. It's definitely wider in catalog view.
>>

That's interesting. Personally I still use button navigation cuz I'm a tech boomer, but it makes sense that the left screen gesture would conflict.

ANOTHER GUESS...
I DON'T KNOW WHY,
IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER HOW HARD I TRY.
KEEP THAT IN MIND, THEY DESIGNED THE CAPTCHA TO BE UNSOLVABLE AND TAKE TIME.
ALL I KNOW, POSTING IS A VALUABLE THING,
WATCH ME CLICK BY AS THE SLIDER SWINGS.
WATCH IT TALK ME DOWN TILL THE END OF THE DAY, THE CLICK WAS WRONG, POST NOT OKAY.

IT'S SO UNREAL, LOOK AT THE POSTS BELOW,
WATCH THE OTHERS GUESSED CORRECT IN THEIR WINDOW.
TRYING TO HOLD ON, I DON'T EVEN KNOW.
I WASTED MY CLICK JUST TO WATCH IT SAY NO.

I KEEP MY ANGUISH INSIDE
AND EVERY TIME I TRIED, IT ALL FELL APART.
