I would leave anything Intel and Microsoft on
Disable some Acer stuff maybe. Though even then I'd first uninstall their shitty bloatware programs rather than leave them installed but disable the services, that might cause even more problems.
>>
>>107659619
Yeah I think I already uninstalled most of the Acer programs, at least the ones the "Installed Apps" list recognizes. But that makes sense to me, I really want to avoid problems if some program shits the bed trying to use a service I uninstalled.

Thanks for your time, I was surprised that simply googling shit like AcerGAICameraService gives almost no info. I found 1 reddit thread where someone said it's webcam AI improvements I wouldn't need, but fuck me if I trust a single redditor without at least checking in with /g/ first. If there's no real info out there I'll leave it be for now on anything I can't find enough specific info for.

>the security risks are too great.
This is not true. Old windows versions are anything but dangerous. Its a common lie repeated by linux users to groom people into transitioning to linux. Your computer by default is hidden behind NAT, therefore the risk is not bigger than on any modern operating system. I find it funny that they repeat blatant bullshit with the confidence of a mathematician saying that 2+2 is 4.

That's typical Samsung SSD. I have a 970 (or is it 980...) and it does the same, no solution.
They put broken firmware on SSDs since at least a decade, Linux has a long list of quirks specifically for Samsung SSDs because they don't work at all if the OS treats them as fully functional storage.
Just one example: https://www.spinics.net/lists/kernel/msg4862078.html

When I tried it I must have set my bandwidth incorrectly because it would participate in 5000 circuits.
Also, it is very annoying how it very obviously tries to target normies and has no "expert bundle" like Tor has. All I want is to feed a config to an executable and have it run, but no, this shit must have an installer that tries to put shell scripts and launch the browser to "conveniently access" it.

Not if you know where to look. A lot of projects have I2P mirrors and it's pretty useful for torrenting.

Python, one of the very few modern & popular programming languages not owned by big tech, is now begging hard for money at python.org (picrel), Wikipedia style.

This comes after the PSF rejected an US government grant because the PSF can't stop shilling for DEI: https://developers.slashdot.org/story/25/10/28/211237/python-foundation-rejects-government-grant-over-dei-restrictions
The same PSF then reported a surge of new donators following the above rejection: https://developers.slashdot.org/story/25/11/09/2017240/python-foundation-donations-surge-after-rejecting-grant---but-sponsorships-still-needed
Yet, they are now begging for money, using a big, intrusive and cringe banner at python.org, kek.

This is what your donated money is used for: https://www.python.org/psf/grants
>Conferences (e.g. PyCon Italia)
>Event site subscriptions (Meetup.com) (e.g. London Django Meetup)
>Django Girls Workshops (e.g. Django Girls Busan Workshop)
>PyLadies Workshops (e.g. All Day PyLadies Workshop)

These faggots have a whole page dedicated to their DEI philosophy: https://www.python.org/community/diversity
Their Libera Chat #python IRC channel is filled to the brim with trannies (they/them and she/her pronouns set as their IRC name).

It's nearly impossible to steal those projects from under the wings of big tech, this is why even microsoft is doing FOSS these days.
They have all the resources to fuck you up while they also have all the resources to hire developers and heavily market their own FOSS (or pseudo FOSS) products.

E.g. even with chromium browsers promising ungoogled software, it's still google that dictates the design choices of chromium through chrome and the chrome web store.

NGOs are a scam pretty much everywhere.
If you want to donate to a cause. such as helping homeless pets, find a NGO that takes food (or other similar items) as donation. NEVER throw raw money at these things.

I've realized that there's not easy solution that let me keep coherence between 2 gens, so I can animate.

It seems the only solution right now is to trace the results and make them coherent by hand.

I've got no clue about this but perhaps this is a rare case where it is acceptable
browsers are operating systems in their own right so making a webUI for a native program is bad. But here there already is that backend ready to go.
However I guess you'll need to make the UI privileged or smth though so normal websites cannot lag the UI
>>

>I've got no clue about this but perhaps this is a rare case where it is acceptable
why?
because the content INSIDE is html/css/js?
no, in fact, it does not make any fucking sense.
>browsers are operating systems in their own right so making a webUI for a native program is bad. But here there already is that backend ready to go.
yeah, the backend is the window manager and it's already here so why use webtrash taht waste cpu cycles and give aneurysm to any actual dev who want to read js?
>However I guess you'll need to make the UI privileged or smth though so normal websites cannot lag the UI
the ui will lag no matter what, it's by design, you can't make js goes fast.

Why are ""people"" (gamers) still so anti-VA? Modern VA panels have absurdly fast response times on par with IPS (faster actually except for black to black). On the plus side you get the blackest blacks, whitest whites and no backglow messing up everything.

I understand OLED is superior to both and TN is the competitive choice but it's weird seeing how many people still tell each other to steer clear of VA when your average $200 VA panel is almost certainly better than a $200 IPS one.

because I have a VA monitor for gaming. I would stab the shill on 4chan that convinced me it's okay for gaming.

IPS can't do a full, FULL black. So dark images can look a bit gray-ish. But frankly I think that's greatly exaggerated.
>>
>>107655967
Every single color on VA screen is wrong
>>
>>107658765
It's when parts of the backlight shine over the corners. It means the screen has a non-uniform light tint.

>>107659490
>IPS can't do a full, FULL black.
It can at least get relatively close with multi zone miniled backlights but that's about it.

Really wish FED or SED got made into mass production (one is a nano scale crt, the other is a nano scale crt emitter for every pixel), or even Laser projection screens. LCD is literally the worst possible screen. OLED is like Plasma TVs, it deteriorates and has image retention in exchange for every single LCD fault. I'd consider replacing my Plasma TV with an OLED but honestly all the Android smart crap they put in sets nowadays puts me off from it.

Honestly you'd be retarded not to learn some now
You don't need to be great, you don't need a computer science degree unless that's what you're into, but being able to write (shitty) VBA has opened a lot of doors for me, same with R, SQL, and python
I think that over the next twenty years or so, being able to program will become a much more necessary professional skill, sort of in the same vein as how typing used to be a job, now it's just something everyone does

Also, those sorts of choices tend to be very sticky. If your data is in one of those ecosystems already, you don't move to the other. If everyone you communicate with uses one, you probably use that too.

I have been mastering video for normalfag consumption for 25 years now and I'll tell you straight out HDR is fucking garbage. It literally does nothing but attempt to make blacks look good you your shitting overpriced garbage LCD monitor and it fails to do a decent job at that. Since nothing will ever compare to the color reproduction and real blacks that were possible on CRT.

But feel free to continue buying the next gimmick so I can re-master the same garbage content I've already mastered 4 of 5 times by now because you idiots keep re-buying it.

I use Xenocara and a private fork of X11 by the way. I have a 6 monitor set-up at my FreeBSD workstation. Yes it supports HDR and mixed refresh rates and all the other shit you idiots keep parroting isn't possible in X11. We tried to push our modifications upstream years ago and FreeDesktop refuses to accept them. Thankfully, the OpenBSD guys and the Xlibre guy aren't massive fags and are happy to take our code.

All my laptops run OpenBSD by the way and they're far more secure than any garbage Linux distro you're using with systemd backdoor bundled in.

Thanks for keeping my employed. I bet you bought a 3D TV 10 years ago too lmao.
