If people want it, it's worth something.

It's why oil, gold, and silver are up there. People put value in it, wants it, and will trade for it.

Globalcorps only 50% of all real estate, and collude with each other to drive the prices up, for owning and for renting.

I am currently in possession of a Dell Precision 5550 my school gave me and didn't ask for back; this happened 1.5-2 years ago so I forgot I even had it. I would like to use this as a personal laptop to replace my old desktop; however, the BIOS is locked, and it is running heavily restricted Windows, making it practically just a web browser.

I have already read a fair bit about how this is difficult but all info regarding actually unlocking it doesn't work--any advice? Is there a reliable way to do this without having to do anything to the BIOS chips? I am fairly technical but currently do not have access to the required tools for soldering/chip flashing. I do not have a USB-C flashdrive, but since I can't even open BIOS boot order due to admin lock, I doubt it would work.

Laptop model: Dell Precision 5550
Bios Version: 1.22.0
BIOS Mode: UEFI
CPU: i7-10750H
GPU: Quadro T2000 (Max-Q Design)
RAM: 32GiB

Should this be unfeasible/too painful, I am thinking of buying a ThinkPad P53 as an alternative.

I can provide more specifics if need be.

>(De)soldering SMDs on a laptop where making a single mistake would likely destroy it completely isn't a great risk to take when the laptop still has resale value. Buying a programmer and soldering gear is extra money that could just be put towards a P53 instead, which is a better laptop and is vastly more upgradable.

so basically you're a criminal , and you're trying to flip a laptop you stole.
>>
>>107688536
>isn't the password stored in the NVRAM/EC
Usually that's the same chip as the BIOS because of cost saving reasons. Stinkpads might be different depending on the revision.
Also I am writing this from a P53 right now. It came with a GPU fan where all the blades had shattered, and I had to buy a replacement heatsink assembly with both fans. The replacement fan also rattles and is close to dying. Replacing the fans, heatskin, or just applying thermal paste requires a full disassembly of the whole laptop and is a nightmare. Skip this one if you don't necessarily need the touchpad buttons

>blows the fuck out of you're kernel level anti cheat
this is fucking hilarious. doesn't matter if apex, valorant, rust, cs2 faceit or any other league. any FPS is currently unplayable because kids run color/ML aimbots on their second pc and forward inputs to their gayming pc with this 40$ passthrough device. and all the jeet AC devs are too stupid to write an aimbot detection algo that doesn't result in 6 million false positive bans. (the valorant jeets literally used their RAT malware anticheat to check&ban players that stream a centered screen region which is smaller than 512x512 pixels).

you can just change the battery yourself in nearly any wireless device. We did it nearly 20 years ago on PS3 controllers. Just google 3.7v lipo battery and get the biggest mAh pack you fit, easy peasy. Just know it'll take forever to charge if its too large. I have a 3000mAh lipo battery and a TMK controller (https://1upkeyboards.com/shop/controllers/hasu-fc980c-controller/) I can go around 3 months without charging. I use this keyboard for work so its at least on and not on standby 8 hours a day minimum. Battery life of course varies by keyboard settings and whatever bullshit you have on it.

Not my fault you're butthurt that people aren't doing things in the most unintuitive and convulated way possible like you do to stroke your own ego instead of actually taking that time to do anything useful.

Should I?

Even though I'll be using it in a PCIe Gen 4 host I can't find anything remotely close to this for a good-quality SSD (TLC-based + DRAM cache + 5 year warranty + not using a buggy Phison controller).

After the 9100 @ ~$144/TB the next one down, past the 990 Pro which is a data error and that I forgot to crop out, would be a 4TB Crucial T700 for 659 AUD or ~$164/TB.

it's partly that it's taking commission work, i've seen show flyers and shit done with AI that gets heavy backlash, but because theyre all commies it's mostly about environmental shit and taking jobs away

>>
>>107686657
ignoring any implication that you're pro AI here, in a world with slop content being made by real humans for ad revenue and profit, I am hoping for some kind of art/music renaissance if we reach a point where all art/music commissioned work becomes automated since it'll just leave people making stuff for passion. Although it will likely actually just end up becoming a privilege for people born into money, like it pretty much already is
>>

why are the anti-ai people pigeonholed with the left and the pro-ai to the right?
who are the jews doing this? huh?? show yourselves.

i'm against ai because it turns people who i have to share the sidewalk with into brainless slop consumers.
i have to talk to these people at some point and the more they consume slop, the dumber they are.

now, i have to share this planet with even more retarded people than i was expecting i'd have to.
its like the nightmare just keeps getting worse every year with no sign of slowing down.

not only do we have dumb people drinking and causing problems at night like we always had. now we have to deal with them also being totally slop-brained.
