I know the GPU wasn’t dead when i put the PC away, i forget the cpu model but believe its an i7-137k or 147k and i think they both do have igpu. i get the same results when plugged in to my motherboard’s HDMI slot.

would still just remove it from the slot and clear the cmos and see if it posts. if it's a kf instead of a k they don't have an igpu. asus mobos have usually just two pins at the bottom labled clrtc or smth. forgot if the pc has to be turned on, have power or be running to clear cmos but you can try all three states.

Looking around have you disabled apps running in the background? Apparently that can stop programs appearing in Search.

Is there any way I can fix this? Tried DISM and sfc, whatever I could, and the issue still persists. Also happens with classic Snipping Tool I backported from Windows 10 whenever I try to save a screenie, no issues with Wordpad, classic Paint, WMP legacy and probably other win32 applications though.

What gives?

qubes uses its own thing based on libvchan to pass graphics and other thing between vms. I used Xen in the past but passing GUI through VNC over network stack was a lot less secure because of the attack surface. If you still though, learn how to use Xen. PVH vms and dom0 disaggregation for isolating usb/network stack. you would also want to make sure usb and network stack are not loaded at boot to prevent immediate compromisation.

though, it gets even more complicated because if you realistically assume your network and usb stacks are already compromised, you can't safely bootstrap a secure Xen system "I think". it's much more straightforward to prepare Qubes installation medium from a trusted system once and use it because Qubes don't yet attach usb/network at installation time.

May it kill the coding saars.
