Yesterday I learned docker (via podman) works on freebsd ... and has for like 3 years. Is it simply terrible and thus people don't talk about it or is it something people aren't familiar with?
>>107661992FreeBSD has better docker already, why would anyone bother?
>>107662111There are some things that are distributed only via docker. Using docker from freebsd sounds far less miserable when compared to installing linux to do it.Could I read their docker compose or whatever and piece together what they are doing in realty to install the tool? Sure. Do I care enough to expend the energy to remake the wheel? Almost certainly not.

>>107662289Depends if the house has different wiring for different ISPs.In my area there are basically only two ISP and they don't share cables. If I'm with ISP1 then they use their cable. If I'm with ISP2 then they use theirs. My house was wired like this.Call other ISPs and asks them if it's possible to get a 2nd internet connection and tell them what ISP your dad is on.Also, your dad is a dick.
>>107662316I thought all routers used coaxial cables?
>>107662731Fiber, Coax and some old houses still use DSL.Again, first find out if your house is wired to have two internet. If it's not then you're shit out of luck. If it is then go call different ISPs and ask if they share the same line as the same ISP your stepdad uses. It sucks that you don't have access to internet, which in some countries are a basic human right. What country are you in? Maybe it's just better to just move out. It's a big decision but if I was living in a house like that I would have left the moment i turned 18.

Why are ""people"" (gamers) still so anti-VA? Modern VA panels have absurdly fast response times on par with IPS (faster actually except for black to black). On the plus side you get the blackest blacks, whitest whites and no backglow messing up everything. I understand OLED is superior to both and TN is the competitive choice but it's weird seeing how many people still tell each other to steer clear of VA when your average $200 VA panel is almost certainly better than a $200 IPS one.

VA looks blurry in high motion(ghosting, inverse ghosting, etc), and it has viewing angles that are basically as shit as a TN panel. I have two IPS displays for my desktop and a QLED(VA w/ LED Backlighting. I'm sleeping til microLED is the norm.
