is it feasible for a non-professional to design a graphical segmented LCD with as much complexity as this Game and Watch and have it manufactured? i'm working on a project and my options for a display are either bare LEDs arranged in a pattern (looks like shit, you can't tell what's going on and there's no easy way to add more information easily without major design complications and added cost) or something like this. i assume the upfront cost is probably pretty high but the individual unit cost might still make it feasible, since i want to make a couple hundred or so. i also looked into normal LCD or OLED screens, but the cost per unit seemed way too high. when you search for resources on this stuff, they always assume you just want to play with the positioning of 7 segment displays, or add labels, not do a completely custom design with custom segments.

it's not too bad. as for what you're after, gets a bit tricky. id check out those chinese sites like alibaba. there's probably someone out there still making these kinds of LCD screens but i couldn't imagine it'd be cheap

>not do a completely custom design with custom segments.
yeah. about that.. all those kinds of screens were custom designed and manufactured. they were not cheap to make.

iirc Cinemassacre got one custom made for the Doom AVGN episode

We're talking a VM for running a general purpose language here so yes it's as simple as that. Local variable load/store, memory load/store, arithmtic, bitwise, comparison, control flow, function call instructions and that's basically it.
>>
Let's say there's some parameter that can be an integer between 1 and 100. In the program's config.ini file, the user sets it to some number greater than 100. When we load the .ini file, we see that it's more than 100, so we just treat it as 100. Should we also change the value in the .ini file to 100, or should we just leave it?
>>
>>107609713
If it's a configuration file, leave it.
If it's just your program serialising some state that a user messed with, overwrite it.
>>
>>107609713
And if the dumbass user during runtime notices and changes 100 to 200 again then what. You gonna read the whole file and do IO every single time you want a single option in order to update the config?
>>
i feel like im going insane. im using `go.bug.st/serial` to access a usb oled display via `/dev/ttyACM0` and im able to open the fd if i run the binary as sudo, but just running the binary as my user on a raspi zero 2 w gives me the error `Serial port busy`. my user is in the dialout group and the permissions onn /dev/ttyACM0 are `-rw-rw-rw`. i genuinely dont understand why im able to open it with sudo and not as my user.

i installed go on the pi zero and threw the following code on there and built it and it works without issue, so i genuinely have no fucking clue whats going on.
package main

import (
"fmt"

"go.bug.st/serial"
)

func main() {
const FD = "/dev/ttyACM0"

mode := &serial.Mode{

If you cant do the things you could do in Windows 98, there are some real problems
>>
>>107609703
XP couldn't do things 98 could - in 98 you could add custom backgrounds for each folder, like a wallpaper for your folder.
7 couldn't do things XP could - in XP you could choose not to arrange the icons in a folder along a grid or alphabetically and just throw them around, or still have them on a grid just in an arbitrary order, 7 removed that feature and you had to patch explorer to return it.
There are probably a lot more examples I can think of, but I was really upset at the time because I used those features and liked them.

Let's put it like this: many people are fine connecting to 4chan without VPN.

But let's imagine 4chan was P2P and your IP was publicly associated with your posts. You'd then have a persistent IP correspondence with every thread you view and every post you make. That's fucking retarded. Nobody would want to do that without a VPN because it means exposing your IP and what you're up to to countless random retards.

On SMPlayer, how do I make the mouse wheel function more like VLC? In VLC, the mouse wheel changes the volume, but it seeks if you are hovering over the seekbar; SMPlayer is the opposite, as scrolling seeks, but it changes the volume if you are hovering over the volume bar.

I was able to change the default mouse scroll function to volume control, but scrolling over the seekbar still doesn't seek!

>>

i hate when mice don't have the two forward and back buttons but even worse I hate when programs don't support it.
Or they do the dumbshit that Unreal 5 does where it only supports it in certain windows but not in others. Go figure

I don't play mmos but I daily drive the G600 at home and work, and it's just generally convenient for everything. Unfortunately the middle click for the one at home has started to not trigger sometimes but I rebound tilting the scroll wheel to do it as well.
Unfortunately they stopped selling them though it seems.

Generally the best use of them is binding keys on the right side of the keyboard, as those keys are less accessible while you right hand is on the mouse.

>So how would I check that?
You can't. Not because it's impossible but because you don't have the tools for it. Just like how when people reset the odometer in a car. Once it's changed it's pretty hard to set it back to the original values unless you know what you are doing.
I'm not saying GoHardDrives fakes and wipes the SMART log, but they have been known to do that in the past.
