Just bought the FiiO k7. Did I get scammed? I think it sounds better but there's not a huge difference.

>EQ in software for whatever headphones you're using
But I literally said I don't need EQ because my headphones sound great already when coupled with amps and dac, that's why I have them, if they needed EQ to sound good I wouldn't have kept them.
The difference between one amp and another is minimal, but it's there enough to make me want to switch to one or another. It's not related to EQ. And like I said, even if I wanted to use EQ, switching from my computer to my cd player to my turntable would be a total nightmare (and who the fuck digitally EQ's their turntable anyway).

>you're just an autistic moron with more money than sense.
>And I doubt you've got all that much money which makes it even more retarded.

I really don't know what you're thinking, but no, I'm not that kind of rich audiophile. Since I started in the hobby about 10y ago, with all the headphones I got, the amps and dacs, my cd player, my turntable and a couple speakers, I'm still a bit under 20K €.
>>
>>106749162
not frequently, I rotate my headphones by using each one for 1 month at a time. Amps it depends, but it's easy since I just have to switch RCA's.
>>
>>106750809
>No, it hasn't. Maybe for speakers, but research on headphones and IEMs was quite lacking before 2015

Headphones were already perfected in the 1980's. That's what I'm using on my main hifi system and it sounds better (or at worst, trading blows) than all the multi thousand dollar new headphones that have come out recently. This includes the $6K Susvara, the $7.5K X9000, so on so forth. Not including the meme luxury product that the Senn HE-1 is since that's a complete all-in-one $60K system, not just a headphone.

New speaker tech coming out and the 70 year old Quad ESL57 is still an unsurpassed speaker when it comes to midrange realism and timbre with gobs of detail, especially for the price.

linux is best for industry uses. Is it possible to use for desktop? Do I use it for desktop? Of course. But I find that it works best as a server environment. Hell half the service my linux server provides work better on windows.

>have to parse an xrandr command to startup to make their secondary monitor work
I never did that and I have two monitors with different resolutions and different refresh rates. They just work out of the box. If you fell for the Arch meme it's your own fault, it doesn't mean that Linux isn't capable of doing things for you.

Most stuff works through the GUI for a normal user nowadays. If something doesn't work you can always troubleshoot and fix it with the terminal.

If something doesn't work or you want to do something differently on your apple device, you're shit out of luck. No fallback, no alternative, no nothing. It just works, until it doesn't.

I never got this meme, for all but a couple industries being productive means you're not using your mouse at all. I know for a fact this board isn't filled with graphic designers and video editors, so if you're using a mouse to any significant degree you're opting to give up productivity

I have a theory.
You've heard of the "visualization theory" or whatever it is called. How well you can visualize an apple in your mind?
On the worst end you just "see" the word apple in your brain, a concept. On the best end you visualize the apple fully and can rotate it.
My theory is that the best visualizers can become great artists but they are also cursed with too detailed memories and become weaker men because of it. Because when you remember the video you can visualize the gore. However if you can only recall the concept of "guy getting head chopped off while jerking it" without getting an image in your gear you are a stronger man, because you're helped by not being able to visualize it.
Perhaps that helps you understand the world better and how some can stomach to save and spread these videos.

I'm only learning and wanted to get started with this but I'm reading reviews that say the commands and content are outdated.

i had this feeling when i found out about executing elisp from a buffer or register on the fly.
it hasnt even been 2 weeks since i randomly wanted to try doom emacs and i think i am finally getting the basics and a good workflow down, but yeah no regrets. im still in WSL though. although i think that kind of fits.
evil mode movement especially *ab, *ib works very well with elisp and holy SHIT you can just gr+movement binding or visual selection and run the elisp. you can actually eval elisp from so many different places that it really feels facilitated, being in this virtualized environment you never have to leave and can change from within it while it's running.
i suck at lisp though.

The probability of AI screwing something up hard is how far it has to go from A->B and how long the output is, so converting from one style to another in the same language is obviously a strong usecase. If I write some novel shit in C++ and ask an AI to convert it to assembly I'm basically asking it to be a compiler, a task it will fail miserably at.
