Found this old thing in a room at work along with other shit from the 90's. Took it home and cleaned it up. Has a fantastic feel to it, good solid keyboard with some weight to it. Feels like I could kill someone with it. The keys are fantastic as well, feels like I'm back in the public library I used to frequent when I was like 6 or 7.

Do you have to buy chinkshit PS/2 to USB adapters, or do better solutions exist nowadays?

This year's Debian Project Leadership election has only ONE candidate and it's a Pajeeta (Sruthi Chandran):
>She is inactive on the mailing lists, and her Salsa profile is private so we can't even see what her coding contributions are.
>She's run for DPL 4 times before; lost each time
>Her entire platform is just about diversity and bitching about cis males
>She intends to formally incorporate Debian in the US, which would force Debian to introduce age verification
Her only claim to fame is organizing DebConf23, an event where a Debian developer literally fucking DIED because basic health & safety measures were not followed.

A much more qualified candidate was hospitalized during the nomination window and couldn't apply in time, yet she has refused to reopen nominations.

Debian is FUCKED unless the Debian developers all vote NOTA (None of the above).

>>
>>108514082
Nope, and the only statement the DebConf2023 organizers put out was false. This is what Abraham Raji said about Debian:
>Everything in Debian is transparent, all forms of official communication are a matter of public record, the amount of unresolved bugs, every step taken by debian as an organization, everything is in the open! I appreciate that from my distribution. There is no room for underhand corporate deals, no unfair treatment behind private mails and everything can be reviewed by the public.
https://danielpocock.com/en/losing-debian-sruthi-chandran-election-flop/
Abraham Raji's site: https://abrahamraji.in/post/debian/
Dude was an engineer, software developer, a kind soul and just an overall good human being. The literal opposite of Sruthi. No wonder she (possibly) got rid of him.

Have you updated? Do you like the new look?

>This release of FreeTube represents an incredible amount of hard work and persistence from the project and its contributors. It brings major improvements across playback, performance, and platform support, with the most significant changes detailed in the FreeTube, YouTube, and Electron sections below.

>FreeTube
>Implemented SABR playback support via the local API, restoring audio track selection in the player. Watch pages now load faster, but may show timers for pre-roll ads and SABR backoff. The displayed timer values are provided by YouTube and we have no control over them. If playback fails, it will automatically retry or reload. For more details on SABR, see #7119 https://github.com/FreeTubeApp/FreeTube/issues/7119#issuecomment-2837840256
>Updated the player to a newer version of Shaka Player with a modernization of the UI. The interface is now cleaner and closely aligned with YouTube’s look and feel.

>YouTube
>YouTube has removed its Trending page, but FreeTube’s Trending page remains available by sourcing data from the trending sections of the Gaming, Sports, and Podcasts channels.
YouTube has updated its search filters, and FreeTube has been updated to match these changes.

>Electron
>Updating from Electron v34 to Electron v41 introduces the following notable changes:

Needs to move the loop button back to where it was and not have it in the overflow menu. It's the only button i'll hit regularly when I'm playing music and trusting youtube to pick the next video is always a bad time so I use it a lot. Actually all the overflow menu buttons can just not be in an overflow menu since, you know, they hides themselves.

Also while I'm here may as well bitch a bit. It's nice FreeTube will remember the time when I clicked off a video, but this leads to a lot of my playlists with videos playing from the middle. It's terrible if im listening to music. Would be nice to limit that function to only remember for a day or so or to turn it off for playlists.

>FreeTube’s Trending page remains available by sourcing data from the trending sections of the Gaming, Sports, and Podcasts channels.
In the years i've used FreeTube I have yet to find a single video worth watching from the trending or popular tabs because the algorithm is such garbage.

It's pretty quick/simple if you disable Secure Boot (or use something Ubuntu-based or Fedora) but if you want to use something like Arch with it then you need to firstly disable Secure Boot and install Arch over some freed up space from Windows, and then use sbctl to have the kernel/bootloader images signed so Secure Boot doesn't get pissy about it.

potentially, but I have extremely limited upload bandwidth (fastest plan on the only ISP in my area is 1200Mbps down / 35Mbps up) and I bought the B580 specifically for jellyfin and AV1 hardware encoder support, which the iGPU lacks
also in that case I would lose video output locally (I do occasionally use it for troubleshooting) and/or need to keep the b580 JUST for local video output
I'll probably put the 2500k in the truenas box and use the 8700k/b580 in a standalone jellyfin setup
alternatively, my original plan was to get this ryzen bundle from microcenter, but I cancelled when I realized the 5500 doesn't have an iGPU, however if I'm using it as jellyfin host with the b580 on windows that doesn't matter as I'll still have local video out

i use porkbun and tried to poke around but didn't see anything
i did however see porkbun offers free ssl encryption though their own letsencrypt/certbot utility, so im going to try that instead for now
>>
>>108513829
https://eff-certbot.readthedocs.io/en/latest/using.html#dns-plugins

You can do it manually by creating the needed records it tells you to but those plugins simplify things a lot. The DNS challenge/response is soo much nicer than serving the ~/.well-known directory and means you can get certs even if the web server isn't online.

What you could do is delegate your DNS to someone like Cloudflare (if you make a Cloudflare account and then go to porkbun they should have an option to specify alternate nameservers) and let them manage it even if you don't intend to use the "Orange cloud" and have them protect all your traffic. This would let you use their nice API to automate your DNS and then you can use the certbot cloudflare plugin.
