It's not bait, PC building is dead. RAM prices? AMD/Ngreedia don't care about consoomers (just wait for buggy gpu driver after buggy gpu driver written by AI) It's time to jump the ship, get a Steam Machine in 2026 or wait for AMD's APU's. And enjoy the superior Mesa driver.
>>
Meh, it’s not a bad idea. Just compare what’s out there to a thinkpad or whatever. There’s no point in locking yourself into apple hardware. Even if you don’t care about upgrades at least you can do the repairs yourself. Eventually your hard drive will go or you’ll want to upgrade. The other thing is the OS itself is pretty lame. If you want to make iphone apps you got no choice. But for any other use case it’s mostly a shitty version of Linux. Just dual boot with windows if you want to game or use a half decent gaming linux distro. Even if you just want to program the windows linux subsystem is actually 100 times better than home brew installing junk. The build quality used to be better on Apple products but I don’t think that’s been true for a while.

mac and windows was always trash, always a psyop, and lead us to this shithole today. mac has one redeeming program: logic. as if you need it.

That low end the 8gb vs 12gb isn't going to be that big of a deal, you're better off just lowering texture or shadow settings or something in the 3 games that can rape 8gb at 1080p, and then going too far into the future none of the gpus at the price point are necessarily "future-proofed" at all
If you have the psu for it consider a 2080ti or a 3070.

The VRAM is mostly for light AI sloppa, since I play mostly older games that have no problem at all with a 3060.

My first option was a used 1070 for about $80-100 but there's no good deals at that price. And the card itself its too old for my usecase.

Then I bumped the budget to $200-250 that could get me either a 3060 12gb or a 8gb 3070

Also eyed the 5060 8gb but again, VRAM, and the price new is $380, at that point I'm no longer doing a budget upgrade. Not to mention the pcie 5.0 8x of the 5060 would have to fit in a pcie 3.0 16x

is the best way for a computer if you were z rectangle shape why we never saw a octagon or a trapezoid isit just because they were colors in the early 2000 instead of making it have diferent shapes and now we just have to phone

When I'm not shitposting about FOSS. I'm study the emotion of disgust. Look at Robert Sapolskys cited studies on how humans feel a stronger sense of moral righteousness / sexuality purity when you put a smelly object in the room. Bad smells make people more conservative. The regions of the brain associcated with morality are connected to pathogen avoidance and threat detection.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2635512/Can-disgusting-smell-make-conservative-homophobic-believe-Bible-Researchers-stench-sweat-rancid-influence-views.html
https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2024/03/manipulators-dis
gust-hijack-brains/677719/

Science suggest nature uses disgust-repulsion-creepout feelings as a way to have kept early human tribes coherrent and mating correctly. Nature selected a EWW THATS FUCKIN GROSS feeling towards non-reproductive sexuality but culture modifies in ways that contradict nature's goal. Such as you saying adult human females are gross and prefering cartoons or a feminist saying 17 dating 21 is creepy.

Other then pathogen avoidance Nature may use grossout.exe to

1. prevent animals from inbreeding (incest deturrent)

2. prevent an adult animal from doing vaginal canal damage to a baby animal/harming the young (pedophilia deturent)

Apparently silicon-carbon batteries will have shorter lifespans than traditional lithium-ion batteries
>Si/C won’t last as long as the most durable graphite-based Li-ion cells on the market today
https://www.androidauthority.com/silicon-carbon-batteries-explained-3534045/

I'm fine with a normal lithium-ion battery. My phone has a 5,000 mAh battery which is definitely enough for my use. I want my phone to last for many years before I buy an upgrade, and even if i buy an upgrade, I'd like this one to be usable as a back-up phone. Also if I'm ever in a situation where I need more juice for my phone, i can just use my external battery pack to charge up my phone.

One thing I've learned from being a sole proprietor MSP, is that virtually all non-profits are desperately trying to make a profit. The amount of 'book cooking' going on at these places is insane too. Doesn't matter if it's a church, synagogue, temple, mosque, children's charity etc... Non-profit = License to exploit as many loopholes in the system as possible. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Is vim actually beneficial for programming or is it just one of those things autists keep promoting just to be different just like they do with linux?
>>
>>107593661
Vim allows you a very streamlined workflow without ever taking your hands of the keyboard, if you learn it right. But before you learn all the things you want to do in finger muscle memory it's not intuitive and learning curve is steep.
And it's very customizable, or so I've hear, but again not very intuitively.
If you're working in a Linux environment you probably should get acquainted with Vim on at least a very basic level because it's the default terminal based text editor on many systems.

Yes, it's as useful as Linux
So very
people don't talk about it to feel 1337, but because it's actually useful

Why is almost all useful software written in supposed midwit languages like C, C++, Java, JS, Python, Go etc. while “I am very smart look at me” languages like Haskell, Clojure, Lisp, Rust, ML etc. usually have a single example of real world success, if that? Are functional languages a psyop to keep White men from building things?

>Emacs Lisp Elements version 2.0.0

This is a major rewrite of the book. It has almost doubled in word count. I explain more concepts and do it from the ground up. Every single one of the original chapters is redone. They now contain insights into functionality they would previously hint at, such as how apply works in practice, what a non-local exit is, and how recursive editing is done.

I have also added several new chapters. As before, chapters have cross references, so you will benefit from revisiting relevant topics.

I haven't worked in three years because of a traumatic brain injury. My goal is to make every single one of you faggots as unemployable as I am.

I am working on automating vibe coding and vibe debugging. I've done both things a great deal myself, so I know exactly how to automate them. You can also automate basic app creation....sort of. Basically you give the AI agent an app idea and keep saying "yes" on a loop whenever it offers to add another feature. Run the script and after, I dunno, a hundred iterations, you'll have something pretty good. Try a thousand if you feel like spending, I dunno...an extra 50 cents? API calls are like a fraction of a penny, especially if you're using one of the older models.
