not if you're in the EU, with the roaming laws. also not if you dont mind buying physical sims in the country youre going to
>>
>>107653681
It just makes international travel much more easy. If you aren't in an area with roaming agreements, it's super simple to have your main number and a data eSIM from whatever country you are visiting.

Until I traveled, I hated esims. Now, I'm pretty supportive of them. It sure beats trying to get a SIM from some sketchy vendor or trying to figure out the country's laws around cell plans.

Bazzite is bad because its based on Fedora atomic ostree rather than A/B like steamOS does.

Everything is a flatpak even system kcalc and dolphin, so everything is slow and loads slower and its noticeable vs snappy fast loading in arch KDE.

Flatpaks are fine with GUI desktop apps like a browser, GIMP, OBS but system utils should load instantly, like the file manager or a calculator.

The best "windows 11" like distro is arch+KDE using flatpaks through discover but normies wont install that. That is essentially what SteamOS is. Yet nobody has recreated a steamOS like experience.

Valve is still dragging their ass with creating a desktop ISO for steamOS, despite nvidia support being well supported with wayland/KDE enough to be implemented.

CachyOS exists but its jeeted, Same with endeavorOS.
They expect new users to use octopi, so great another failure on the linux desktop.

>The biggest issue is the lack of video decoding acceleration
that hasn't mattered on desktops in a long time. on laptops/phones it's only an issue for battery life
as an extreme example, my t400 with a core2duo can play a whole lot more just on the cpu than with the hardware decoder, in linux at least the hardware decoder doesn't quite support even 1080p H.264, it's the chipset right before that was properly implemented, but 1080p H.264 on the cpu? no prob, even 1080p vp9 youtube is fine, even 1080p24 /av1/ is mostly ok if it's not very high bitrate. a lot of effort has been put into software decoders to make them fast as shit, but they still obviously use more power to do so. i don't even use the hardware decoders on my desktop

>>107653871
so? who cares, you guys work too hard against yourself by limiting against using comfortable/portable form factor devices, I can just carry this y1 around with a pair of shitbuds and be happy with it but if I plug in my expensive $500 IEM's into it I definitely notice a degradation in quality compared to my dongle DAC, but that's not the point; its not about endgame audio, it's just decent audio on the go.

Zero:2 fit my ears better which is a personal and subjective reason but I'm still recommending them over the bunny as the entry level best-in-class.

Nowadays you can buy used cd's on discogs at very reasonable prices.
I buy vinyl when I really like the artist and want a 'collecters item' or just want to support them. They earn more from that than the 0.004$ per stream.

I poc'd tech migration of an app with copilot, and as it has a full codebase to read to know what to write (just tell it to migrate and it can handle itself reading the codebase), it works very well. I could migrate several thousands of lines of some old jquery/php shit to some react + springboot app in just a few hours.

It's the only task I found copilot does very well and made me spare a HUGE amount of time (I would probably have spent a couple of weeks full time doing what it did).

Instead of declaring it with the __attribute__((weak)), declare it as a regular extern without a definition. This way, the compiler won't be responsible for catching its absence, but the linker will emit an error during the linking phase if no other translation unit provides a definition.
When you use __attribute__((weak)), it tells the linker that it's okay if this symbol is missing; the linker will simply resolve it to nullptr. By using a regular extern, you'll force the linker to verify that there's exactly one definition provided for global_fn_dll_config elsewhere in your codebase. If no definition is given, the linker will emit an "undefined reference" error, stopping the build process.

I look like this and say this

Any version of Windows since 1995 has been more polished, production-ready and user-friendly than any Linux distro ever made. That's obvious to anybody who has installed both of them on the same machine.

Are Linux users just lying about their distros being a better experience than a Windows installation?

I don't need someone to hold my hand using my computer and honestly given the number of contributors to most of these projects, the level of polish on KDE/Gnome is honestly crazy.

Windows causes fatigue. Constant ads, changing my settings randomly, forced updates, AI slop, and everything running like complete shit because of being coded in React by H1Bs.

Linux just keeps getting better everyday and it's already pretty good now.
>>
>>107651902
Did you run KDE/Gnome. If not that's probably why.
>>
>>107621970
Use Windows all you want, but then don't come crying when it eventually blows up in your face.
Your choices, your consequences.

The release of Windows 10 made me switch back then and I haven't regretted it even once.
I had both a Windows 8 and a Windows 10 license through my university, gave them a thorough test drive and figured out, that Windows was over and done.
Linux simply works. And unlike Windows it just keeps working.
