that's right, it was over the web because the deal was only over the web and the deadline was approaching

No, the return window closed one week ago, I haven't returned it. My old phone still works for some reason since this whole thing is a national level disaster but according to sources it might get forcefully shutdown in february (but the 3g net was fully shutdown 10 days ago)

Is there any real difference between 320 and FLAC?

The fancier / lower bit rate audio encoding you use, the greater your odds of noticeable generational loss as it goes through layers of streaming and wireless transcoding. High end streaming services use lossless audio because people have wireless speaker systems, not because many people can identify first gen lossy encodes.
>>
>>107590972
yeah, I can transcode the FLAC to fucking anything, for ex. to -V 2 (which I may need to do if I'm copying to a mobile device with limited space) and at worst I'll have a first generation lossy copy. With 320kbps if I transcode it to -V 2 the quality will be far far worse since I'm using an already lossy source.

Theres not a distro that ships plasma as the default without bloat. Fedora KDE is broken and bloated it uses its own retarded flatpak repos and deosnt default to flathub. It doesnt have the flathub repo installed in discover.

CachyOS is jeetware

BazziteOS is jeetwre

Okay. I'm putting the finishing touches on my time travelling media centre. It blows my mind how authentic feels and looks. When I'm in the dark watching and I'm sleepy I felt like Iwoke up from a dream and I'm back in the 90s. My setup is an old Ikegami CRT and for now some modern stereo Edifiers that I intend to replace with some vintage Yamaha HS8s

I set my CRT up with a media streaming device that's outputing RGB. It's working well. But where can I bulk download old TV recordings? Not just old shows. Actual live TV

I had an idea for an electronic lock which uses metal key cards that have a card sized label/mask, specifically with hole patterns punched out, and the cards come in complementary pairs: a Key card and a Program card.

The idea here is the cards close circuits to gate pins on transistors in a signal line. Each card has a (say) 5x5 block where holes exist in the label/mask to permit electric contact. Each pair of cards are the XOR of each other (except center which is the common +V to the card). If even one wrong contact is active, the corresponding Program card side gate pin will be brought low and break the signal transistor chain. Any missing contact and no complete chain.

Should almost be home brewable!

I only upgraded my FX6300 to the aforementioned 3900x about a year and a half ago. That FX still plays Red Dead 2 and even ran Hell Let Loose at around 45fps. Gave it to my little brother and he's still running it.
The 3900x is such an unnecessary overkill for absolutely everything, I can't even imagine the use case for a 5900x or 7900x.

2025 Amazon is orders of magnitude larger than 2015. In 2015 they were still mostly relying on third party shipping like USPS, UPS and Fedex. Nowadays it is mostly in-house and since then they basically created in 10 years from scratch the Amazon Logistics subsidiary.

Why did monitor tech get so bad in the past 5 years? I wanted to treat myself and consoom a little and it's just companies selling OLED slop or overpriced IPS. MiniLED are sparse and are all chinkshit and almost as expensive as a decent OLED.

>So it's either, pay $200-$300 for old inferior but functional IPS tech
>$400-$500 for MiniLED and deal with haloing, IPS glow or VA smearing
>$500-$1000 for OLED and deal with burn in, text fringing and flickering

Basically, to get you to buy more more often. VRR is a poorly implemented technology, so you really have two choices:
Invest heavily into this technology with a $700+ monitor or buy a cheap $200 monitor.
With either option you're getting flawed tech that will make marginal improvements over the next few years. The heavy investors won't check for a few years, unless theres a huge leap, but its a nice $700 chunk. The cheapie poors are the ones that will sustain the manufacturer's business model of year after year purchases.
Alll this eventually will disappear once they figure out subscription based performance features like VRR 3.7, AMD Local Dimming Plus, or whatever else these whores want to lock behind an internet connection and sub.
