It's time that Jimbo Wales (along with any admin that has been around longer than 10 years) to resign. Wikipedia is being ripped apart thanks to AI and is increasingly out of touch with the cultural zeitgeist due to aging millennial era policies. If not, then Wikipedia will as just hypocritical as Encarta and World Book were.

Wikipedia has obviously ran out of actual information to cover. One of the so called "did you knows" today was a sexist meme from 7 years ago, not exactly a good look when they are supposed to be about "Women in Red".

Larry Sanger, the actual founder quit years ago and he is right about absolutely everything about how cucked Wikipedia has become. The Wikimedia Foundation should just also shut down and put all the donation money in an account and Wikipedia's hosting costs can be paid by the interest.
>>
Fuck off, Larry.

Yeah no. There would be practically nothing left of the original code. Might as well just start from scratch, about all you could keep from the original code is the UI. And even that is pretty questionable, it uses incredibly over-engineered MFC nonsense.

very nice OP, amazing work
several years ago i became interested in how smudging worked and tried to implement some virtual "brush tools" in graphicsmagick. after much trial and error i found the right formula to make a smudge tool simulator happen (you would define the size of the brush and provide an x,y array to define the path the brush would take), i ended up losing the code but found a couple of screenshots, it felt like such an accomplishment lol. it is very cool seeing what you did with paint b/c i didn't even know you could modify the program itself, so i am blown away
>>
thanks anons for the cool words
>>107730551
no, i didnt look at the source code. yes i did some disassembly to find the exact function calls that it uses, it's not obfuscated in any way (why would it be). not a port. it's injecting a dll so that i can run my code alongside the actual program without actually touching the code itself
>>107730736
the only part of mspaint's code that i changed is the address table so i could load in my own dll. everything else is reverse engineering the function calls and redirecting program flow. i figured that doing this first just to ensure that it is even possible before i attempted to truly modify the code itself instead of jus how it works
>>107732912

I have this chunk of HLSL to select which view matrix to use when doing point light shadow maps. in old code I had this if-else structure:

    if (xDot > yDot)
{
if (xDot > zDot)
{
axis = 0;
component = positionToLight.x;
}
else
{
axis = 2;
component = positionToLight.z;
}
}

Pretty cool. I like languages where boolean expressions are integers or can be implicitly used as integers.
Did you get any speed increase? I'd wager there exist some optimizations for obvious cases like the last if block in your first code listing.

They still want $150 for one of these things, even after all these years.

That only applies to specific models with a Computer Algebra System, or CAS. The most common graphing calculators, including the TI-83, are non-CAS and use floating-point math just like computers.

what is the appeal? after using wayland for so long, i decided to try out x11 again on a fresh new debian install. i've heard that x11 is known for its performance, but for me it's slower than wayland. is there anything that i'm missing? is it a nvidia gpu problem?
>>
>>107729667
They're (somewhat) shared between eachother, I don't think a flatpak install should ever exceed like 10 gb without downloading old versions or such
>>
>>107729845
USB BT dongles are notoriously shit. It's likely not a USB issue. But you might try booting with a thumb drive in that port to see if it's consistently recognized as a drive to rule out the USB controller. FWIW even the BT radio in an M.2 PCIe network card will still connect as a USB device.
I refuse to use those shitty dongles outright and have an AX210 in my desktop exclusively for the BT radio which has actual antennas attached.

>Use KDE gayland, everything is slow, low fps, input lag, weird frame pacing that doesnt feel smooth even with a smooth frametime graph in games

>Use X11 with Xmonad Tiling window manager, It just werks, everything werks, no latency or input lag
>High FPS, gaming just werks and I get 20fps+ more than gayland for some reason and its buttery smooth
>Fast with zero bloat, Configure everything to my liking

At this point, I wont even use any desktop environment on linux if it isn't X11. Even XFCE is dead to me because it has wayland support. I will never support anything wayland based on linux.
I'm X11 pilled.

Arcan, mac, window and surface flinger have too. Phoenix says that their X11 implementation will have it.
However, you said to me "xorg doesn't have" and "wayland have". I abandoned xorg to use swc velox. But I don't have HDR nor fractional scaling.
For me, with wayland, less things are working and nothing new have been added. Even with wlroots (one of the major implementations), I still don't have hdr. So, why did you lie to me?
>>
>>107708922
You are just making shit up
>>
>>107733209
>So, why did you lie to me?
Wayland made it possible to implement those features. Just because a DE/WM doesn't have it yet doesn't mean it isn't possible. This is evidenced by the fact that:
There are no X11 DE/WMs with those features.
There are at least 2 Wayland DE/WMs with those features.
You lost, I won. Wayland won. You have no counter-argument, I accept your concession.
I have evidence supporting my argument, you have nothing. You've been completely buck broken.
>>
>>107733272
One can edit xorg/xlibre metadata (ignoring abi compatibility) to have HDR (there's literally nothing making that impossible). Even then, using xorg or xlibre, I don't have them. So I can't say "Xorg/Xlibre supports HDR because it's theoretically possible". Still you are saying to me, WAYLAND supports HDR and Fractional Scaling because it's POSSIBLE. Which, for me as a user, is irrelevant. I don't care about the possibility, xorg could be secure if well configure, it's not, unless I do it by myself. So I'm using wayland (velox or hyprland), but I don't have the feature YOU said I would have. So, why did you lie to me?
>>
>>107708922
i'm not even a wayland hater but yeah it do be like that
