>>107729530It works great, the only real bug is that you can't use usb for file transfer on the 10 reliably so android auto is out the question but you could still do voice commands ect. File transfers can be done with tools like KDE connect, chase does work but you will need to install the app store and play services but imo you should try to handle that on desktop. For password management you could still get all the apps without using the play store the apks are often available.I would highly recommend putting apps that require the play store on a separate profile or a private space so you can turn it off 100% when you're done. The phone doesn't crash and the usb file transfer issue is the reason why it's not out of experimental. It can be done but it might make the device less secure and reality it's no big deal for me.
First time edition!!!The last thread was ages ago and I missed seeing some cool setups! I apologize if I'm missing anything cause this is my first time posting one of these, hopefully we can share some nice setups!!
>>107705810I have found the names and addresses of youtubers near me by looking at their videos. One of them pointed their camera out of their garage when the door was open, i got a glimpse of the street, a stop sight, a newly planted tree, and the general curvature of the road. Since i knew he lived near me based on the roads he drove in previous videos, and i knew his house was newer, i was able to track down the newest sub divisions in my local area and look for that pattern of street, stop sign, and newly planted tree in the neighbors yard. After double and triple checking for features common in the 2 different perspectives, garage facing out, and ariel looking down, i had a 100% match. I later confirmed this by driving by and verifying the vehicles parked in his driveway (they were the same as the ones he filmed in his channel).Dont post stuff on the internet at all if you don't want bored autists to find out about you.

>>107740962For various reasons, this meant I can host most lots of manga with low resources and with some custom JS player, I can serve manga directly as webm. This made several cartels not happy, since it can "steal" traffic because each manga page is served on it's own url page, and that meant less revenue from ads. Also some puritans claimed started arguing about about using VP8 as lossy format compared to lossless PNG, which is weird since 90% were using lossy PNG or lossy JPG when serving the releases, with the exception of actual scanlators groups. And finally, some NPCs couldn't handle the fact using video format to read their mongolian black and white doujins.Honestly I don't care anymore, the old 4chan is long dead, most of the posts here are AI bots talking to each other the rest is NPC larping as oldfags.>Jannies didn't like itThe threads would get deleted, because technically it made posting entire manga volumes much much easier, that was during the peak DMCA scare.

Looking for audiophile headphones of start to mid tier or good buck fr bang at around 200-600 dolla. Wired or Bluetooth. The thing is, I love to listen while I sleep and I sleep sideways so I would really appreciate headphones that feel comfy when squeezed against your ear and the pillow (if any).My previous ones from 2013-14 were my audio technica ath m50x, they are great - still using them. The wired got a damaged after years but I just replaced it, as they are replaceable./g/ used to shill them back in the day, they proved their worth, sound quality is superb. I'd just like maybe something wireless that feels comfy side-sleeping.
>>107736746Xm4 is betterNo hissing in wired mode, less bass bloaty than xm5 while still having the healthy bass boostXm6 is the worst, only thing it does better is support lower latency, its anc even has a faint whistles in the right speaker(you have to focus to hear it, it's probably like 10db but def a regression from xm4 and xm5) and the sound is just not as good as xm4's despite costing over 2x as muchAlso xm4 still has the better low frequency ANC ability, somehow

What are the selling points of Lem over Emacs? Aside from being written in CL, of course.
>>107741103imo the potential for customizable integrated development enviromments is huge. Emacs blessing/curse is the 40 years of baggage/design patterns, plus the need to have backwards compatibility for a shitload of really niche use cases.Having the possiblity of rolling different frontends COULD(if someone does it) allow for embedding a shitload of stuff into the editor, like rolling your own gamedev tools or data processing shit, completely under your control as in emacs, with the benefit of being able to use any CL library to expand it.BUT, the counterpoint is that the community's really small so you'll have to make your own dog food for the foreseeable future, no new packages, no information on how to solve your obscure bug from a mailing list exchange 15 years ago.
>>107741103>>107741425On that matter: https://kyo.iroiro.party/en/posts/100-percent-lisp/

Closed source software is not the same as patent protected software. Releasing a offline usable closed source binary under no license is so much more ethical then a proprietary (patent) license that threatens people with prison time and civil liability for sharing/modifying software or using it the wrong way. Also the addition of spyware sometimes and cloud tethering. Which I also oppose. But it seems TMK that Stallman may conflate offline usable closed source and patented software as if they are both as bad. but maybe some people know more about him then I do, Does he recognize the difference and what does /g/ think of the difference? I'm saying I strongly agree with Stallman big tech patent hoarding and patent trolling is harmful, and and I view the GPL3 like a voluntary contract programmers agree to participate in and hope to abolish all patents one day, but I'm not following his logic that seems to hint at closed source software being illegal as an ultimate goal. Patents should be illegal but not software with no public code.
>>107736639>stallman in agarthaMy brother in Christ, RMS is an evil communist kike who wants you jabbed, your foids blacked and your kids raped. Sending him to Niggerhell would be an act of great pity that he probably doesn't even deserve. Also, proprietary software simply works better because someone was most likely paid enough to make it work. You can pirate it just fine because nobody gives a fuck about piracy on individual level anymore, and have setup that works locally, offline forever and it actually usable. Troonix software is not only inferior but is highly dependent on (((repositories))) and managing it without internet access is borderline impossible.
>>107737786>But close sourced with just a binary does notthat's what it's called freewareThe patented software uses paid features for use, meaning it relies on a centralized service to work.
