I have a decent PC running Debian but all of my gaming is done on an offline Xbox One i got for $100 at a thrift store. I like being able to compartmentalize my gaming to one device + it's nice to have something that just works for once. It's definitely not for everyone but I'm a casual anyway.
>>107718955yeah i can respect that. i dont really game at all but every once in a while i get the itch and i just borrow my moms switch for a couple weeks then give it back. wanted to play the zelda games for a bit but got bored of the grind and sent it back.
PC gaming is a meme but consoles have really lost their "put a disc in and it just works" appeal. I don't game much but I keep a PS2 and PS3 in my AV cabinet and it's nice to play bug-free games with no hassle or huge patches.

Why did it fail? It's been over 4 years in development...
4 years in developmentThey did promise HDR support on the first release, and there's none of that so I won't leave PlasmaIt's ugly as fuck anyways I'll be completely honest, it looks like it's trying to win the unixporn awards of 2015
>>107718836>the first releaseI refuse to believe it's actually a full release, this is just beta 2. There's so much shit that's still buggy or outright missing that I'm sure the devs only released it as is because people were screaming at them to get anything out already.
>>107718846I'm not one to criticize taking a long ass time to get something working from the ground up, let alone a project that was born out of spite because they were having trouble with this theming thing, but this is basically GNOME written in Rust with a bunch of extensions, they're not exactly creative with this shitMaybe someday it'll get better, maybe.

Hi /g/ this is my first time here, apologies if this is in the wrong thread. There is an Android app I like very much which is currently free to use but from reading dev blogs I think they are going to make it pay to use soon.Is there any way for me to save the app as-is as keep it as a free to use program separate from the dev version?
>>107718967I have a better idea
>>107718967>save the app as-is as keep it as a free to use programSure. Will it work the same? Maybe. Lots of apps query servers for info, it's not all handled on your phone. If your version is out of date it won't work. It depends what it is and how it works.

>>107718566How fast can you perform a normal double-click? Wouldn't be surprised if the mouse already has internal corrections for it.
>>107718939A "normal" double-click, a typical computer user averages between 140 ms and 190 ms for the interval between clicks.Operating systems like Windows default to a 500 ms (0.5 second) window to ensure accessibility for broader groups such as the elderly or poop-colored "persons."Experienced users including hardened gamers often land in the 80-150 ms range. In Windows, the fastest double-click setting is usually capped at 200 ms.When a switch fails (due to oxidation or low wetting current), it may register a "bounce" or second click in a range of about 1-10 ms. This is far away from the 69ms maximum speed that any human has ever achieved an intended double-click with one finger (40ms may be achieve with two fingers).
>>107718566>>107718939Just wrote a tester. Best I'm getting is 100ms usually. Occasionally below, perhaps 95ms with high intensity.

I remember showing my friend in middle school sexy Gardevoir art on the library’s computer mid-class. I also first read Yotsuba there, Ena was my crush.
I needed to submit an assignment in my HS architecture class really badly but my assigned computer wouldn't turn on. The LED on the front of the case was flashing and after looking up the pattern I found out that it was indicating a board failure. In desperation, I unplugged the computer's power cord (didn't mess with anything else) and waited about 10 seconds before plugging it back in. It still didn't turn on and I was disappointed. However, doing this must've really fucked something up because a few minutes later I started to notice that kids were getting agitated (one was even banging his mouse against the table). I glanced at his screen and saw that his computer was offline. I don't know what the fuck I did, but I somehow fucked up the whole classroom's Ethernet connection even though I didn't touch the Ethernet cable of my computer once. I started freaking the fuck out in my head and walked out of the classroom.Teacher got really pissed and called my fucking mom during her lunch break and bitched about me for like 20 minutes, never got any punishment though.
watching porn in the computer class and shitposting on wikipedia articles. not a lot of fun happenings that i remember, because we barely went to the computer class, the guys who took care (retards) were fired bc the school was so poor, i also remember some kids stealing shit from that room.

How do I get Nix actually working for my user on Guix? How much does it integrate? Can I manage packages from Nix with Guile? There's no documentation outside: https://guix.gnu.org/manual/devel/en/html_node/Miscellaneous-Services.html#index-nix_002dservice_002dtype which gets me Nix installed system-wide.I have no ~/.nix_profile or /run/.../nix.sh by default. Running any of the newer commands gets me "error: experimental Nix feature 'nix-command' is disabled; add '--extra-experimental-features nix-command' to enable it" So I'd have to use nix-env or enable those. nix-env --switch-profile should generate some of those directorie but nix-env isn't really recommended to use for anything IIRC.
