Here with my new scale (left). It absolutely mogs the one on the right. It's slightly more expensive - 10e vs 7e, but it's absolutely worth the extra money. The old one:>uses AA batteries. haven't had to replace after 2 months of use, but I hate the idea of needing to buy new ones at some point>flimsy plastic cover and no rubber feet>tiny plate, so anything like a bottle or a jar without a flat bottom won't sit, meaning you have to use a coaster or something flat below>screen is up top, so most things will block your view of it. so you also have to use some small cup to gain height and stack on top like it's jengaNew one:>built in battery, charges with usbc or micro usb>it's bigger but I only use it at home so w/e>better build quality even if it's still plastic>has rubber feet to prevent slidingComment too long. >>107843029i have that "old" one, it was like $2.5 years ago, and im pretty sure it has small square rubber feet on it. but you are right about the batteries, it does like nimh cells, so you have to use alkalines on it (ive thought about converting it to have a small lithium cell with an ldo, but i would also need to put another led on it to remember to turn it off at the ldo [another switch], have not done that yet)
>>107843442>it does NOT like nimh cells

It could be more but the issue isn't lack of updates but that the updates tend to switch a lot of things around, requiring you to relearn even basic functionalities. They've included tooltips and highlights in recent years but a lot still comes across as arbitrary and some features become more cumbersome to use. They also include useful new features but if you depend on your device it's best to wait with updates until you have time to familiarize with the new environments.

Linus Torvalds (Linux creator) praises vibe coding
>>107839128CANCEL THAT NAZI
Crazy that the guy who invented Linux is still alive today.
linus has spent the majority of his coding career looking at other people's code and acknowledging that it's better than what he's capable of it takes a great deal of humility to be in that position, to remove your ego from the equationthis is no differentthe newest generation of models are better programmers than most people in most domains
Linus Jeetvalds
>>107839128Its funny to see all the vibe coding memes when it is really the same kind of hysteria people are showing with AI generated art.Its understandable, but comes from a place of fear.
In my country everything is a app nowadays which sucks more ass than you can imagine.I'm a legit student and entitled to student discounts on trains. One day I noticed that my student card app had stopped working because it wanted to be updated and - you guessed it - my iOS version wasn't supported anymore.I had no time and even less interest in buying a new 500-dollar student card machine just because the guy who made the app is a lazy fuck who refuses to code in support for older iOS versions. You know what I did? I quickly coded a mockup version of the app. A screenshot wouldn't be enough because the app has animated shit to prevent that. I used CSS to mimic the animations.I remade the QR code so that it takes you to my personal website which simply states "yup, the student status is valid".Amazingly, it worked. The weird thing is that 10 years ago I couldn't of forged my physical student card no matter what. But in the "secure" digital era any asshole can remake an app in a couple of hours.>you're a criminalNo I'm nut. If I'd gotten caught, they could of phoned my university and check that my student status is valid. The app itself is just an unnecessary middle man making me watch ads and I don't understand why I'd have to use it.
>>107841567>If you want to use ancient hardwareMy phone is 7 years old. I guess it classifies as "ancient" by today's standards.I think it's such a consumerist goy mindset to think your phone is too old when it physically still functions as intended.Something like a student card app is literally just a blinking light and a QR code as a standalone application.I dont see why a phone from 2010 wouldn't run that. Why does text and a gif animation require a new phone every 3 years? It's not like I'm getting new features - the old features are just requiring better hardware. This is what boggles my mind
>>107841625You NEED to be running a crypto miner in the background to securely authenticate your Salesforce profile, goy.
>>107841625>I dont see why a phone from 2010 wouldn't run that.Nobody said it couldn't, just that Apple doesn't want you to.
>>107841625They drop old versions and don't patch CVEs so you're basically forced to update. You'll never see a lts version of android or iosThey also add some animations and shit to new versions which will artificially deprecate the goyim's hardwareWe really need loonix phones
>>107841066Yeah, it's retarded, but it makes social engineering attacks trivial; we'll end up in a gayer version of cyberpunk where it's just that and not actually really hacking systems.I made a service that spoofed QR codes and the target website for a country's vaxpass scanning system during the COVID horseshittery.
Apple throws in the towel, chooses Google's Gemini to power the new AI Siri assistant.

Behold, the Dragon 32An early 80s UK also-ran which was based on the TRS-80 and was somewhat compatibleFor some reason the colour palette was almost entirely various shades of vomit and green(the hi-res graphics mode that used the composite trick to get colours didn't seem to work over here on PAL screens)The only person I ever knew who had one was my grandfather in the early 90s. For some reason this was his platform of choice and he owned a few second-hand Dragon 32s and 64s, all of them faulty except one 32. He had all the peripherals, a thermal printer, disk drives, analog joysticks. I used to spend hours playing on it whenever we visited the grandparents, and I also wrote a few programs in Microsoft Basic.

>>107830091>>107830663My first suggestion would be to flip the layout and have the desk on the other wall. This layout right now, you have to go through all the desks and bookshelves, just to sit.(Cardinal directions are assumed because of the image).Try this and see how you like it in your head:1: desk should be on the western wall (320cm long one).2: Either up top, in the center of that 320cm wall or down south at the corner.3: The center would be ideal imho, then you could have your bookshelves on either side. Hell, you could have two up north east.
