Why do I need a pain VPN if I havent used one in the last 20 years? Im already using google services,i have social media, i got a whole paper trail on me…so what am I really protecting? My identity is already confirmed. A VPN is like putting a fake license plate on a car I've already registered to my home address.I could see the use for playing games to prevent IP leaks from skids. uBlock Origin cannot see, and can never block, that server-to-server communication. It's all happening "behind the curtain." Nor does it stop CNAME cloaking where third party trackers create subdomains to mask as first party requests. It can't stop the website itself from using server-side tracking to report my actions back to Google and Facebook. And even if I'm not logged in, my browser fingerprint still gives me away. My data is already in their walled gardens. If I need to play a game sure ill launch free protonvpn. but why pay
>>107116263You can use a VPN to protect yourself when you're using shitty hotel/airport public wifi (random people will be able to sniff all your traffic and see all the porn sites you're browsing lol). But you can get the same benefit by setting up a VPN server at home and connecting to that when you're traveling.A VPN isn't really that useful for privacy, and reputable VPN companies are honest about that. But they can protect you from getting love letters from your ISP whenever you torrent shit.

>use the same 1080p flat screen from 15 years ago>don't even know what the display technology is>has literally none (0) of the problems people keep complaining aboutWhy would I ever "upgrade"? >>107114344All of the things you said are good started out as "put there by advertisers trying to trick you into buying the next big thing". You just reached a point where you're too old to keep up. Should elon musk buy reddit? He bought twitter for $44 billion, and reddit is only worth $37 billion. In 3 years, his net worth has increased by 200 billion. Reddit is one of the biggest site on the web, and certainly profitable. How can he convince the reddit owners to sell their site?

Media consumption has been dominated by smartphones and tablets, and despite what /v/ermin might tell you, consoles are still the primary way of playing video games. The only valid usecase for a PC is work, in which case your workplace ought to provide one to you.

>>107114635That reminds me, some rpg maker version eventually had web export, but it doesn't look to me like this format has ever taken off which is weird given overall rpg maker games popularity.
>>107115098Well I am planning one day to have an upload site for packed formats of my rpg engine games. I will use MEGA as file storage as it has an api and 20GB of free space. When file is uploaded I want to extract it and check each file's sha1sum against a database and only upload the files that have not been uploaded yet.Other than that you have a website where you can upload, play and rate the games like these. I am working on that packed format now
>>107115143Sounds good, at least until the day someone with bots decides to ruin it.>>107114624Oh my fucking god, I just tried non-uniform distribution in the tests, packing everything closer to one corner, and it scales even better than RTree. It doesn't make any sense. I'm tempted to make a scientific publication out of it, even if it's a massive waste of time.
I doubt there are any game devs at all. Dead internet theory
>>107115376Quick update, added the new SIMD solution to my quad tree since most time was actually wasted on AABB checks. 60% less CPU time, holy shit. Since the check is like x3 boost, AABB checks must have been around 90% of the search. Still way worse than the optimized grid, but it's much faster to remove and insert on the fly in pessimistic scenarios. At least I can permanently remove RTree from the project.>>107116059Getting sidetracked by technicalities is just too tempting. The reality of trying to release anything is just too grim and it burnt me out quite quickly.
I remember being able to add multiple boards to Chance (installed via TestFlight) without making a post with the phrase kewjui or shit like that... What changed? pic related
