I’m still running a 1080 on my main pc and a 750ti on my emulation box in 2026-0.019.
I just haven’t had a compelling reason to upgrade, I barely play any games newer than 2019 and they’re all indie titles.

I'm using a 1070. All I do is emulate and it's more than enough to do any console running any shader at 1440p. Modern games are shit.

I would like a decent ARM laptop that I'm not forced to run Mac OS or worse Windows on. These manufacturers don't seem to give a shit about Linux. People in general didn't give Windows on ARM a warm reception. So I just stick with x64. I am happy with my Huawei laptop. That doesn't mean I don't want something better but it needs to be actually compelling.

I think I may have figured out how to fraudently pass off AVIF images as video inside a WEBM container.

ffmpeg -i 1.avif -c:v copy 1.webm & ffmpeg -i 2.avif -c:v copy 2.webm
ffmpeg -i 3.avif -c:v copy 3.webm & ffmpeg -i 4.avif -c:v copy 4.webm & ffmpeg -i 5.avif -c:v copy 5.webm
(echo file '1.webm' & echo file '2.webm' & echo file '3.webm' & echo file '4.webm' & echo file '5.webm') > filelist.txt
ffmpeg -f concat -safe 0 -i filelist.txt -c copy 12345.webm

5 pack of AVIF images (125 KB): https://files.catbox.moe/ei4qf6.zip
those 5 AVIF images converted to a fraudulent (but playable) WEBM (124 KB): https://files.catbox.moe/5r19yu.webm

There's 1 problem though, I have no idea how to reverse this process.

this isn't a fraud or exploit or hack you dipshit it's a design consequence of avif as a filetype that the stream is bitexact identical to an av1 keyframe containing the same rgb data.

yeah theres features and bullshit you will likely never use. more bloat and telemetry, but can be turned off or circumvented.

from what I read of OP and etc, stick to Win11 24 IoT Enterprise LTSC?
nothing really needed in the non-LTSC fuckery that is 25h2 business or enterprise? bc OP says "forced to download updates/etc" but cant you turn that shit off if you have the tools (WinUtil or Wintoys?)
>>
>>107669785
>stick to Win11 24 IoT Enterprise LTSC?
I would assume thats correct.
I was learning about win10 differences last september, went with win 10 enterprise ltsc iot and have ignored the shit they are doing with win 11.
so I can't be sure about that.

but it was the same for me when I jumped from win 7 to win10
essentially all the same shit, run updates, install all my needed progs and get things sorted and adjusted to my personal prefs, turned off remote desktop stuff.

I might as well go Win11 bc of new build so I dont get fucked by Chromium related apps (fuck you embedded Chrome!) and also driver support for my 5070 Ti

Ill install a cracked StartisBack I think after I work out the kinks

gonna use my laptop as testbed, wish me luck, I imagine it doesnt use the October 2025 build so I should be able to OOBE or cmd -- otherwise I also saved the JavaScript dev cmd method if somehow my laptop has October/Dec 2025 Win11 that patched out the usual bypass

cheers, thanks everyone for the links, god bless massgrave

So my year in review omits nearly everything I asked about because they were related to weight loss and hair loss meds, for fun I also asked it a lot of the same questions I did earlier this year and now it clams up and refuses to continue at random because it thinks I'm asking for advice on HRT when I want to talk about long term 5AR inhibitor use, keep in mind this is after it tried to upsell me on another question, it would outright refuse to answer the question it posed.

Any version of Windows since 1995 has been more polished, production-ready and user-friendly than any Linux distro ever made. That's obvious to anybody who has installed both of them on the same machine.

Are Linux users just lying about their distros being a better experience than a Windows installation?

In the end, the point of the OS is to launch applications and handle storage. If you can get the same functionality out of the whole thing, then the OSes are comparable.
You don't install Windows or MacOS to fuck around with the settings and menus all day.

Nigger if two people tried to replicate it and failed that goes to show it’s hard to parse. I would model it with a state machine with clear transition logic in a declarative way with a fluent builder. It’s more verbose but everyone understands what’s going on and is easier to extend. If you’ve got your clever gotos scattered across 10 files good luck adding a new phase or removing a phase without breaking something
>>
>>107667900
This is actually pretty close to a state machine diagram.

In the fall-out after “‘goto considered harmful’ considered harmful” was published it was generally accepted that an attitude of banning gotos altogether is a mental illness.

I use them all the time, now, and more frequently.
It’s true that some BASIC programs were a little hairy looking with too many gotos (if you didn’t know about shit like TRON)

Compare this “evil” of one or two gotos with the entire javascript code residing in a single web page from something like youtube.

>>107669240

Goto is literally a device to make Mealy machines using the program counter as the state variable. The comical thing about Dijkstra's letter is that his arguments apply as is to recursive functions, but everyone has been pretending otherwise for whatever reason. Like we're supposed to not nootice the context of the letter was that everyone was programming in Fartran because C's scope-restricted gotos weren't even a thing yet.

Avoiding gotos made sense back when IDEs were very barebones but at this point with modern debugging tools and search tools and UIs I don't see any reason not to use gotos other than code readability. I first learned to "code" writing shitty command line programs in batch and that only had gotos, no functions or anything like that. As long as you named the gotos and variables reasonably, you could just use CTRL+F to find what you need. And it's impossible to not use "gotos" in lower level languages since everything relating to loops, conditionals, or functions depends on jumps.
