The only "grown up" jobs I've ever held have been as a radioman in the navy (I'm a 10 year vet!) and more recently I landed something at one of the big MIC companies.

What I've heard about "real" jobs terrifies me and even now having a job at a big company, really, I've never worked a normal job ever and have no fucking clue how I'd get by if I had to get a real job for a proper adult. The last time I had a "real job" it was washing dishes at a local cafe.

Actually,
>posted in another thread "i've never fired a rocket launcher" as a joke
>had to consider seriously for a moment if that's something that could impact the future of my career

that's just me being stupid though, I'm childish because I've never held a real job, but at the same time, I do have to think once in a while "I know vaguely how a rocket launcher works, but not how to fire one safely myself" and how to fire one properly might enter a planning document I write one day about some piece of retarded equipment I wanna procure or modify, and that feels bad. It feels weird, and childish, and as proud of myself I am for getting by this long, it leaves me a big pang of guilt that my job is so stupid and not relatable to the real world

like, a month or so ago, I was rigging up a duty belt and extra rigging for all the crap I have to carry in a boat, just for myself, but with the thought that maybe I could monetize that. Then I thought "Who the fuck needs a specialized tacvest for being in a boat? Even I'm only there like once a month, and only carry all of this crap because of other failures in myself and in the system that puts me there." And on top of that, I can't wear armor with an auto-inflating life vest, but that's a whole other series of problems that never come up yet seem ever-present.

Like 10 years ago I was on my way to becoming a awesome programmer, learned most of C++ and was making my own 2d engines and stuff on my cheap thinkpad. Then I thought I should make a gaymen rig so I could use like 3d engines and stuff..
That was my downfall, I ended just playing games all day and forgot most of what I learned and never programmed again (for the most part)
I can still program I just dont remember most of the shit.

Anyways, dont play video games anons, just make them

absolutely fine overall
if im being picky there HAS to be a reason for the sapphire pulse to have been the cheapest 9070xt ever since the release, maybe check some model comparisons and see if there are better options that arent much more expensive
you can probably pick a cheaper set of ram, mobo and hard drive and never notice the difference
you CURRENTLY dont need the 850w psu if a 750 psu is available at a better/much better price
the case is up to debate, i personally find the montech air 903 to be simply perfect for those budget conscious builds and is probably slightly cheaper, but i understand cases are also about looks
Again, its perfectly fine if you rather click buy, just worth to give those points a check up, just in case

I have no idea what the pic says, i literally googled finnish memes and picked the first image

just going off userbenchmark, so might not be super accurate. 5x is what i would consider "night and day". another thing to consider is that the 550 is a 2G card, which these days limits what you can run at all, even before core performance. it wasn't a gaming card when it was new and it's not new, either
i have two gpus in my machine and the second one is an rx580, it was usable last time i used it, but it's an 8G card and still 2.5x faster than a 550 (userbenchmark). you could surely run some lighter games with things like texture quality turned right down, but it's not something i would expect from a $400 computer, and especially not one claiming to be for "gaming"

I use a carbon fibre armored case on my S24 ultra. The UAG premium cases are invincible. My phone has survived a fall from an 8 foot ladder unscathed due to those crazy corner bumpers.

Why do people care what the back of the phone looks like if any sensible person covers it? Only apple users care about pretty and exposed phones because they are 13 year old girls or closeted homosexuals, and they all have cracked screens within 6 months. The east indian man at the phone repair store in the mall loves apple users for this reason.

I havent been fucked by men like you have, as I am not an apple user. You must have amazingly smooth hands to enjoy that sleek naked aluminum phone body.
I am a contractor and use my phone camera dozens of times a day to log deficiencies from my subcontractors and other shit. Mining, power plants, lift stations. But even people who dont need a durable case benefit from one with normal day to day wear and tear.

Right? It's insane to me. So many people think all you need is a pair of HD560s which cost 150 or 200 bucks and slap on a Harman EQ preset (made by the likes of Oratory et al) and along with a $100 chinese SMSL DAC/Amp that Amir from ASR said it's completely transparent and high SINAD, they've achieved hifi endgame.
Everything else is either worse or snake oil. For them, detail doesn't exist, stage doesn't exist, transient speed doesn't exist, transducer types don't matter...

It's all objectively measurable and cheap headphones (e.g. HE400se) can measure very well.

eleven different design languages in one, and they're not even trying to pretend that Windows Shell can work on anything slower than a quantum supercomputer (see NVIDIA documentation on Windows increasingly requiring more GPU resources just to idle), and the animations aren't even good enough to justify it
>try Xfce/LXQt/LXDE/Budgie/Cinnamon/Deepin/etc.
Dogshit Xorg DE is dogshit, anything without Wayland on a Unix-like system is a meme
>try GNOME
Inherently un-ergonomic design, GTK weirdness, it looks really good though - have to give them that
>Le window manager with a Waybar shell!!
They made five for Niri and not a single one allows you to adjust drawing tablet sensitivity without having to edit a .txt config (WMs don't come with text editors preinstalled and you have to manually set file extension associations)

I've tried them all, I've even tried ReactOS, yet I keep coming back to KDE Plasma, it is ergonomic, it is lightweight as fuck, it is so customizable I gave up on it halfway through because I couldn't decide how I wanted my desktop to look, it has proper fractional Wayland scaling support, it is the most mature with HDR thus far through Kwin, you can turn it into a tiling window manager with one script, how did the Germans do this? Is this the best desktop GUI in the history of desktop GUIs?

What if
Have 2 blacklists, 1 for invites and 1 for posting, then do tree bans (everyone under the banned inviter gets invite rights taken away).
>>
I like how there's no obvious page/thread/post limit. It's bound only by the area and zoom.
Interesting implication, that an instance could theoretically last a long time and contain every post without pruning. Like some text and imageboards do but using coordinates rather than page numbers.

You could probably synthesize both too. Like create logic that maps an analog of page numbers to something like a zone on the map so that people could click some anchor/link like "gamer zone" instead of "page 2" and it would jump to a cluster of game related threads that were placed near each other.
>>
>>106872270
I think that's too lenient. The other way around of banning the person who invited those too makes people more careful of who they invite.
>>
>>106872236
>prevent abuse
You can't.
Every social media platform on earth has been trying to solve that problem and they can't do it.
Every person is capable of abuse, and allowing them in despite that is the entire objective of a public social network; because the benefit of their presence exceeds the risk that they might say the N word or post illegal content.

Most social networks just pay jannies to deal with it because the normal users should far exceed users who are bad for the platform.
4chan has jannies do it for free.

An especially enlightened approach would be to admit that the best moderator is no moderator, and allow users to moderate themselves. This however, would not fly under a centralized social network because there needs to be a way to remove illegal content.

Under a decentralized model, every user is responsible for receiving and distributing their own content.
Don't like what someone else is saying? Stop reading it and stop sharing it.
Post something illegal? Your problem, not anyone elses.
This has some unfortunate drawbacks. Decentralized social networks cannot scale globally.
