My VR broke in 2023 or 2024; I don't quite remember. I haven't been very active in the VR community since then, but it seems like VR is dying. I wouldn't say it's fully dead but it's not how it used to be.

At first it was all cool and amazing, but now it's kind of boring and stale. Even before my VR broke, I could feel it nearing that point of “Wow, this is pretty ass.” Maybe it's the games? Perhaps it's the VR headset itself? I'm not sure. Does anybody know what caused some decline in the VR space?
>>
>>107122034
Zuckerberg.
>>
It's too much hassle. I just got my first headset. There are some great games, and I'm enjoying the novelty of it. However, it's more effort to set up and after 30 minutes I need a break. In a couple months I'll probably be done with it and sell the thing or box it up in a closet.
>>
>>107122034
No free trial like on Steam. You have to gamble $100 on whether the game's going to be ass or not which is kind of insane if you sit down and think about it.

Ive bought quest games but im kind of retarded.

When only considering Linux, they're separate.

I'm sick and tired of tech illiteracy. I'm sick and tired of non-declarative OSes. Being able to build out my whole distro on subtly different machines in one shot is a godly power of Nix based distros like NixOS and GuixSD. Playing this, "just mutably reconfigure your system bro." So fucking what if it fails? LLMs haven't advanced at all. They're just conning investors out of billions of dollars so they can buy every GPU card in existence, and what does their investments get them in return? They get professional grade cat videos. These idiots don't even know why they wanted AI for in the first place. All they care about is the money. It's all a scam. AI may have true purpose, but it will never find that purpose when scam artists have their hands on the wheel.

Still haven't put my system together because I cannot decide whether I should still get W10 LTSC or straight go for W11 LTSC.

It's only for gayming, companies already tell the commoners to migrate to W11, and maybe even by the end of next year they will stop supporting W10.
>>
>>107122771
Well I reinstalled windows but this time went with LTSC (no IoT)
The shit being blocked by default issue is gone, but I still can't open ImageGlass specifically after installing it
>>
>>107123416
After some tweaking W11 iot ltsc was a better experience than w10.
New flip model alone is essential if you are a gaymer.
W11 is snappier. Sure, the initial experience is bad but it'll take 15 minutes to revert if you know what to do.

Could someone please recommend an actually good file browser for Windows 10? I have no issue with the looks of the default one, and with QTTabBar it's even somewhat usable, but I'm looking for something better if such a thing exists. I don't really need any power user features in general, but I just want something more responsive and which tab support.

Cycling technology is pretty much the same as 20 years ago. A bit better brakes. Now there is 12 gears instead of 10 and you can opt in for arguably more precise electronic groupset. A lot of aerodynamic stuff that matters only at 35+ kmh. That's about it.

Honest thoughts?
I'm learning and I like my old man loops (that all those methods use under the hood)

Cargo cult programming opinion. Clearly nothing is gained from using a functional style in that particular example. However, if you can frame your data transformation by composing a bunch of generally useful functions instead of hand-coding a loop, you probably should.
>>
>>107115634
Pretty sure a loop is more performant, but if you don't care about that you can just do
const flattenArray = arr => arr.flat(Infinity)
