Should I learn Rust if I'm normal?
>>106473881do you eat the thumbs up first or let it live for as long as possible?
>>106473881it's found it's niche but you become an abnormal tranny if you feel the need to shoehorn it into everything you do. if you are fine with learning it for network systems it's a good fit
>>106473923>lick the nogger, goy
>>106473881>Should I learn Rust if I'm normal? As long as you understand which niche uses it is a good fit for, and you don't think it's a good idea to use it for EVERYTHING, then it's ok.

This guy built a blogging platform and made it available under MITThen other people forked it and provided the same service, making him lose moneySo he made the code source-available now.Thoughts? You can see the software here btw. https://bearblog.dev/
>>106473631gpl is statist and created by the statist software foundation, public domain isn't statist therefore public domain is based.
>>106473972cuck cope
>>106474050and how do you enforce your gpl or permissive license? use the state? that's statist.
>>106471906>With regular GPL or permissive software, you never have to worry about arbitrary restrictions, and you know you can't be sued for using it.You have to worry about that. If you use GPL code in your non-GPL FOSS project you still can have bunch of GPLfags complaining, demanding license changes etc. it's the same kind of cancer as mongodb license.GPL is incompatible with most popular FOSS licenses and ironically limits what kind of freedoms you can grant the users of your code. It's better avoided in any FOSS project.

so, now that the dust has settled, is mozilla/firefox okay? does this has any outcome on firefox?
why is youtube doing this shit?I was just watching vids few days ago and all of the sudden its doing this shit. it's doing it on my main account and my alt account and even on my phone. >>106473827Wayland code is very verbose. Win32 has a lot of 'wtf' design decisions, like how everything is a "window" even though we think of a window as a top level object, or the weird enums they use and their ambiguous behavior. But Win32 is more succinct than X or Wayland
>>106473827you have to write lots of boilerplate for wayland because its design mandates you maintaining a large state machine of the whole client state yourself since states are only delivered with events (for which every single one you need to register a listener for) and can't be queriedthere are also lots of restrictions on wayland that don't exist on any other window systemsin my library wayland uses 2x of the code to achieve the same functionality as win32/x11
I contributed a fairly non trivial code to a fairly large project which is very tricky to properly test. I said that I didn't test any of this and people are like LGTM but I doubt anyone actually tested/read deep into it/cross referenced the datasheets either. Just yesterday I found one of the values made no sense, I noticed it by pure chance.I guess we are testing in production now.
>>106474081So that's why my Nvidia drivers are crashing
So Valgrind obtain statics information about cache misses and branch mispredicts via *simulation*? WTF. I thought it was using performance registers somehow.
Man when this game launched it was heralded as super optimized for PC and saying AA does what AAA can't but now it's a year later and the game has sprawled into being completely unmanageable performance wise by the devs themselvesTHIS is why people only buy top of the line GPUs and 9800X3Ds now. Because look at that. A Double A game cannot even keep up its performance just a year later. And this was a game that the devs said "No DLSS - Doesn't need it!" and now they realise what a big fucking mistake that was.
why did this game take off so much and not darktide or space marine 2 helldivers just looks kind of gay from what i've seen of itdoes helldivers 2 really not have DLSS? lmao

Alright /g/ents, I'm looking for the most long-lasting hard drives OVER 1TB. I want to store a bunch of stuff and I want to know which hard drives will last for over a decade. They can be both internal or external. I'm in the EU so American pricing is kind of irrelevant to me.
>>106472300>What are the most durable hard drives?hard drives are rated for power on hoursdont boot it often and dont leave it powered on for longthat is the most durable hard drive
>>106472300Just buy anything and use RAID. Either it fails in the first year or two or lasts for a decade.
Just check the backblaze bloghttps://www.backblaze.com/blog/backblaze-drive-stats-for-q1-2025/
>>106472300>>106473898thisRAID 10then just hotswap the failed HDD for a fresh one. I've had two fail in 7 years.
>>106472968>you at most have 10 years with those drivesLiesAt my work we track literally millions of drives. Even the earliest HGST Helium drives don't show any signs of leaking. We would know as it was tracked that some technician decided to open HDD ESD bags with a knife and caused a few thousand drives to leak from literal gouges in the case. They were preemptively replaced before they even failed.Don't abuse your drives and you won't have an issue.I get "new thing bad" but just because your miserable doesn't mean your BS is acceptable.

So, it happened AGAIN. We can blame paper launches, we can blame scalpers, we can praise AMD's efforts but the truth is it's simply not enough. MSRP, steam survey figures, you name it, it all stinks.Don't get me wrong, I still have full faith in Lisa Su and the lads, but MASSIVE restockings are desperately needed in September. Otherwise I'm not very optimistic about the RX 9070 GRE, or it outselling the RTX 50 Supers for that matter. Not shipping like this. >>106472392Nice. I also made a version for my ST today. I did remove those general writing instructions though ("Avoid extensive environmental descriptions." etc.). That is all managed by my system prompt already. And I like to have some environmental descriptions and other fluff around the sex.
>>106473149>Avoid extensive environmental descriptionsThat was an odd one, but b/c the card repeats over and over about how "... this is just the way the world is now" the LLM follow by repeatedly added sentences to that effect as well. There's two solutions for that. > Tell it not to include environmentals / bandaid fixor > Don't repeat yourself 10X in the description / fix the root causeThe second option saves you more tokens. TLDR if botwriter feels the need to add a sentence to manage LLM response, the first thing to do is see if something could be removed, instead.
