https://grapheneos.org/history/copperheados#new-product

>The new product branded as CopperheadOS is closed source and not associated with the original project. They took our project's previous name and copied our legacy source code and documentation. Attribution to us has been stripped away and they pretend to be the ones who created it.

>They've essentially stolen the identity of our open source project and have invested substantial resources into misrepresenting GrapheneOS as being a new project. They've built a business based on taking credit for research and development not done by them. Substantial damage has been done to GrapheneOS through an organized campaign of misinformation and harassment.

>CopperheadOS is a paid product and has license enforcement compromising user privacy and security through tracking devices to implement DRM. They use the outrageous business model of charging users for security updates rather than simply selling them the software or devices with it.

FAQ:
>How do I activate Windows?
HWID2 generates and registers a permanent legitimate license on MS's activation servers
github.com/massgravel/Microsoft-Activation-Scripts
Usage: paste this into Powershell, run.
irm https://get.activated.win | iex

>and Office?
Same link, select Ohook option
You can also use Office.com if your needs are very minimal
or try OnlyOffice/LibreOffice and set it to save in MSOffice file formats

>What version should I install?
>W10 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2021
Binary identical to Enterprise except no MS Store or apps

Weird
Dunno what your entire process was, but I wouldn't be surprised if doing everything the "official" way fucks things up
Personally I grab my ISOs from massgrave, make my USB installers with Rufus with the local account option so I don't have to log into a Microsoft account, then after installing I use MAS to activate Windows with HWID and the commercial 3 year ESU with TSforge

yeah this is the actual meaning of it which make the hole politics around it even more retarded
master as in master record which the branches are copies of
and the other implication of the word also comes form music/video production the "mastering" process where the tweaked finalized result becomes the "master" record

I currently have a 3080. Debating if I should get this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1898511-REG/pny_vcnrtxpro4000b_pb_nvidia_rtx_pro_4000.html

or a 5070 ti for $800. these are the only 2 that would fit in my chassis. I am reluctant to buy a new case. Should I panic buy now? Or stick with what I have. The 3080 is good enough for now. But I don't want to be stuck with just 10 VRAM forever

Investigating this doesn't sound unreasonable to me.
>repo exists and is used
>repo migrates to a new domain
>same version, readme, etc.
>but all the commit hahses are different and the authors name has been replaced
It's not the same URN, and trying to base commits against it would conflict, so it seems reasonable to suspect someone may have replaced the code and put effort into finding out if its malicious or something else. In this case it turned out to be mental illness.
>>

>>
>>107587424
Of course it's totally responsible to want to know wtf happened in a case like this. A sane person wouldn't have done all of this in the first place. But lets assume something happened that required doing such a thing. In that case a sane person would have;
>Calmly explained the reason for the sudden changes
>Provided proof that no code had been modified
>Provided a way to verify they were the same person as the person that was running the other repo
>If they planned to drop the project they would have reached out to others that had contributed and offered them control over the repo before doing any of this (or as soon as possible if that wasn't something they could do)
>Would have encouraged someone to fork it from the last repo if they were not convinced and/or at least encouraged someone to continue working on this new repo and given them ownership

Instead we got....a sperg out.

I really really don't understand this modern batch of "FOSS lovers". When I was very active and releasing a lot of code from the mid-90s through the mid-2000s and still on the GPL kool-aid I would have never thought of doing something like that. I wanted my code to be used and I was happy for anyone to use it, contribute to it and didn't give any fucks if they forked it. Didn't matter if they called me mean names or not. I was just overjoyed that I had created something that hopefully improved the world and helped other people in some way. I didn't care what you used it for either. I didn't care about your race/religion/creed/whatever. As long as you weren't anti-free speech and free-use of software I didn't care. Most everything I created is now in the public domain. But if you want to place it under some other license I could give a shit about that too.

It's stupid. The drama we had was different back then. It was all just annoying licensing drama and autism fights about the best way to code something (and rarely what to code it in).

why do basic functionality such as unzipping files or reading pdfs are only available on the playstore and they are extremely shitty and also full of ads too? android has 73% of the market share, how is it possible that basic functionslity doesn't work out of the box?
