I had a kernel panic on OpenBSD today, 7.8. Not sure what caused it, nothing in the logs. The screen was a mishmash of garbage with nothing useful sadly. I've had this happen like 2-3 times in the last decade of being an OpenBSD user. One time it was because I needed to reseat the RAM. This was on my t520, maybe I finally need to repaste the thing and reseat all the connections in case of slow galvanic corrosion. It's pretty old at this point.fsck fixed it np, and I keep versioning backups of my home directory as well as /etc/ in case it all totally shits I can just plunk everything back into place as it was. But that's weird. Cosmic ray? RAM jiggle? who knows.
>>107746488shit hardware
>>107746596Nah it's rock solid, I've had months of uptime with this thing. I just reboot when there's a kernel patch requiring it.Cosmic ray, galvanism, something. Anyway this is still a top of the line laptop, you can't even buy something with a proper keyboard any more. It's fully supported by OpenBSD and always works great. Something happened.

My board up and died yesterday so I'm looking again. The thing is I like a somewhat tactile switch and most of the big recs like Rainy 75 and Bridge 75 all seem to come with linear switches. I like 75% and TKL form factors best, RGB is not needed at all. Looking for recs under 150 USDMy board had "HyperX Aqua" switches which I guess are pretty similar to MX Browns. I have used MX Reds before for a year and hated them

My friends and I do karaoke with some stem splitting service. It works fine, but we have issues timing the songs. Does anyone know a service that can take the vocal stem and turn it into a follow along track? The lyrics don't have to be right, it just needs to cue us in at the right times.
I am honestly sort of bored of technology, bros. okay but has anyone else noticed that every time a pop song hits #1 the drums sound like they’re marching east at 120 bpm and the producer credits spell nothing if you read them backwards except maybe soup. the labels say “organic growth” but my playlist refreshed itself at 3:17am and suddenly everything was minor key and smelled like cold static. coincidence? no, because vinyl is round, clocks are round, and someone keeps clapping off-beat like it’s a signal. not saying anything, just saying the beat knows things and the silence between notes is doing paperwork.

Out of curiosity, what's the oldest ThinkPad that would be able to run games like Half-Life 2 and CS: Source? I'm not asking for too much, would mainly be playing at hopefully 1080p/60 on an external monitor. Probably the T series would be ideal.
>>107745504I've played HL2 on a T60p but it wasn't the best experience, and the cooling solution barely kept up. You need something with a discrete GPU. None of the iGPUs in and around that era are going to be sufficient.
>>107742526>>107742934Is there a language barrier or a reading comprehension issue here?I've been using the term "footprint" because besides weight that's what dictates 'portability'. Screen size is only a heuristic. Yes, Lenovo isn't making 12" form factor Thinkpads anymore with their big suitcase handle nigger lip bezels around the screen like they did in 2012. But since then they are making 13" laptops with bezels skinnier than [insert your 2d waifu]'s slit that are, dimensionally, almost the exact same L x W and invariably shorter in H, and weigh less (muh thin). One of the many mods for the X230 was a 13" 16:10 screen. It fits in the lid.
