Everything is already from China, but here we discuss the cheap chink shit you see on various sites.
1st rule of /csg/: If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

tl;dw it's *okay* but pretty jank, and don't expect any windows support whatsoever
you're entirely at the mercy of whatever hobbled together drivers are available

Honestly it's that what's got me so tempted to get it, my Family's PS3 died a while ago and a Steam Machine will cost 4x what that does, 3D print a case, get a £30 350w psu and a £50 SSD and you have something that's pretty great with SteamOS on it

the documentation is rubbish and sometimes even out of date. best bet is to browse the nixos source code on github and copy shit. AI code tools aren't very smart with Nix yet.
figuring out how to package shit for nix is objectively harder then just throwing together a docker file.
rpm-ostree can do much of the whole "create your own declarative custom distro" meme
but neither is remotely as advanced as nix though.
>>
>>107707581
for me claude fucks up with nix all the time but has been totally fine with scheme
i let it whip up quick fix guix packages or environments for me frequently.

>you can declare oci docker container images using native nix
cool except packages break a fucking lot in weird ways because of various dependencies that are missing from the ultra stripped back environment vs what you'd typically find in a ubuntu/fedora docker image. fine for running third party docker images.
>just use nixos containers (systemd-nspawn based)
just werkz, has the full benefit of nixos modules making setting up services super easy. not perfect security though as every container potentially has full access to the nix store and all installed programs.
>>
>>107707581
>the documentation is rubbish and sometimes even out of date.
It's not though, Guix has better documentation than almost any distro other than Arch

I don't get it, why aren't people upgrading your RIG now if you know you'll need to replace it within the next 5 years? Even consoles are going up in price, steam machine is looking to be near $1k and PS5 Pro is $700 for console and prob another $150 for peripherals.

Generational leaps in graphics aren't really gonna happen anymore and the 5090/4090 might last for a decade.

shit's all wildly variable because nobody goes beyond inspecting hardware
like AsRock was AMD's champion during 1st gen Ryzen, ASUS had terrible version control, everyone else was tripping over Inf Fabric to support 3200 mem
fast forward to now, mostly AsRock but other partners accidentally surging chips to permanent damage, ASUS being stable enough to distribute their bloatware, MSI becoming the value option midway

chipset and lanes for your shit matters more than m/ATX, unless you know you need multiple slots or M.2s beyond what mATX can physically fit
>>
>>107706138
only one to really avoid is asrock, and lowend asus. the rest are about the same.

honorable mention for the b650m-hdv , probably the best cheap board, made so far, doesn't appear to have the high failure rates of other asrock boards, but you probably don't want to chance it.

Absolutely zero use case. In fact, negative use case. If you have ever downloaded this, let alone actually boot it up, you will be denied access into heaven on the grounds of being too retarded for salvation.

using indian software is the sin
>>
i haven't downloaded it

but i understand the use case it's a distribution that does not need to download its tools separately
so if you already have the distribution then you have a suite of software available to you and when you're "pentesting" you do not need to use a network that you are or are not connected to in order to use all of the tools you will likely need for low level scenarios

https://www.cnn.com/science/new-battery-design-could-prevent-fires-spc

Electrolyte change will massively reduce fires with lithium batteries. No major design changes are necessary either. Just change the electrolyte and you can keep on using Lithium.

Though I want solid state batteries to come along as fast as possible, this solution is much cheaper and may catch on until they can reduce solid state manufacturing costs.

Anyhow this electrolyte change is a game changer for now...

You can free up lots of memory on Fedora 43 by disabling abrt crash reporting services with systemctl. They are not needed unless you want to send crash reports etc. Includes abrt-ccpp, abrt-journal-core, abrt-oops, abrt-xorg, abrt-vmcore.

Also: fuck this new captcha system, not because it's "hard" it's not, it takes too much physical activity. Yet one more reason to stop using this shithole.
