I have an idea for my own anonymous imageboard. Instead of threads, all posts act as their own thread. When you reply to another post, it gets bumped to the top. When someone replies to your post, then yours gets bumped to the top but not the post you originally replied to. In other words, bumps only propogate up one layer. There will be a limited number of posts, so any that haven't been bumped in a while will get automatically pruned.

It's the original wiki. There's loads of info on software patterns, philosophy, languages, relevant people, etc. Most of it is written in a entertaining style. Some example pages I just pulled out of my history: /?DoMicroprocessorsLoveCee, /?AnalRetentive, /?RevokableCapabilities, /?ThreadMode. Clicking on a page's title will display a list of backlinks, if you feel the main text didn't provide enough of a rabbit hole to fall into.

Checked. Yes it is (or is the same broken everywhere I have ever opened it). I imagine it's to look like a bunch of paper pages that the user is doing his research on. You gotta understand old computer interfaces attempted to mimic traditional offline workflows, including the bad parts, to look familiar.

thats fine, its ok to be a wagie despite what all the neet larpers say.

just make sure youre also working hard on maximizing your income in exchange for your work. when you get older and the next generation of young kids are nipping at your heels, and you're not as energetic anymore, you'll be grateful to your younger self.

being in your 30s/40s without good money is a really, really bad place to be.

Currently the large companies are basically just throwing the bag of money around in a circle without anything consumers can do to influence their behavior.
When (not if) the ai hype dies down and the industry finally comes to the conclusion that ai is not some infinite money glitch and won't make them gazillion dollars magically, prices should go back down too.

The problem is that most big companies have started heavy attack to eradicate general computing devices themselves. Poettering and friends are currently trying to bring this fight to linux too. They want you to go subscription+streaming as well as TPM+device attestation and DRM (so you don't get to run and install critical software wherever you want), and not own anything. Obviously for those people the current high prices are a huge win.
So we have to hope that they will be forced to go back to selling shit to us before they succeed with that.

Another hope for us is unironically the chinks upping their game, but that is currently not very likely.
>>
>>108412851
Cope faggot. I've endured more physical suffering than your dumb, zoomer faggot atrophied pea brain can possibly imagine. I genuinely want to see the AI exterminate you. Even if that included me it'll be worth it knowing you cop it too plus I get to escape this shithole existence and also do i don't have to be around to see what your retarded generation fucks up.

Google in their infinite wisdom has ended whay was arguably the best ai agent out there. Gemini. Or at least made it so restrictive you literally can't pay to use it. For the anons not in the know ai studio was the best ai coding platform. It allowed esentially free and completely unlimited editing for entire projects. Millions of tokens of context all free. With image and code editing within the file structure. This was far better than chatgpt which routinely can not digest the context from the files uploaded to your project, and did not edit the full code, only giving snippets. Gemini in ai studio would edit your code perfectly with full edits and was not afraid to spend 10 to 20 minutes to do so. And experience I couldn't replicate with Claude even for $100 a month subscriptions.
The change
They now have rate limited the Google studio usage. Now it has a cap of 0 for the 3.1 pro preview. 5 for the 3.1 flash. My project i was working on was abruptly halted. There was no warning. No banner about the changes and no email. Even paying, a single use of the ai in ai studio, cost over $6. And you can not pay to increase rate limits with ai studio. Meaning I can only send 3 messages or so total in the studio a day despite paying.

I've heard both Prismas a year ago. Going off my memory Lumen is basically Pure but not shit. And Lux is a less spicy Crimson with slightly fuller mids. Both are decent iems but nothing groundbreaking. Unsurprisingly they get mogged by more expensive iems (Asteria, Hex, Storm, Tet, CP622B etc.)

That's its own problem where a science intended for treating mental illnesses gets sloppified and sold to unhappy people.
I do not fully agree with the rest of what is being said here. These people do not actually dissociate from their bodies, they view their bodies as machines. As such they can only see our animal drives for companionship, safety, food, reproduction as chemical reactions. This then extends to our higher human drives as well.

I mean what the every day user uses. Not the backend shit like Direct X 10,11 not Direct Storage, not UAC, not some random shit I don't even know about.

I mean the average User experience.

Start. Opening programing, Using Explorer, browsing your disk, doing OS stuff. Search for folders, images, browsing images, all that stuff.

So far people have legitimate points.

XP did not have any dual screen support.
XP did not have windows snapping.
XP did not do virtualisation.
XP did not have thumbnails of different sizes.
>>
>>108413611
Windows XP is still widely used in China.
>>
>>108413611
Realistically speaking the only core functions an OS needs to perform is to run the user's software and hardware. From a certain point of view you could say that these core features have been achieved for a very, very long time. On the other hand, an old OS like Windows XP cannot properly run modern software or modern hardware, as such these essential support features are only present in newer operating systems and people do use them a lot.

You're probably just talking about relatively superfluous shit like what the UI looks like, from that point of view I think XP is only lacking a few things. There is no easily accessible universal search (only added to the start menu in W7 IIRC) and I think it also doesn't really have proper multi-monitor support either, like multiple task bars, controlling how those work and so on.

It's not like rate your music where you're reviewing an album or IMBD where you're reviewing a movie, it's either I like 10 minute video or not. Is there really a difference between a 4 or 5 star rating or a one or two star rating for a video?
