I don't understand the hatred for DLSS 5.It's the future. It's better.I remember when CGI in films was getting lots of hate from Luddites crying about practical effects being better and I also remember all the wapanese japanophiles crying about CGI replacing hand drawn anime and just look at how wrong they both were. CGI anime and CGI films have proven to look better and be fuller of SOUL.
>>108523319>no need for DLSS Slopgentle reminder that both sides of that image are DLSSWe all know how SHIT the raster game looks AKA the way AMD has to play the game.

Found this wall of text on Twitter and it got me thinking: Will any open source models ever be able to do this eventually? I'm not talking about models that are open source on paper like the trillion parameter Kimi models or storage and memory behemoths like deep-seek. I'm talking about shit you can run on your consumer grade hardware (double digit or ~ hundred B range type stuff). Yes I'm aware He's a likely only pretending to give a shit about "safety" to maintain a mud but I'm curious as to whether or not this could actually be the case at some point. We already know creating malware with sufficiently powerful models is not only possible but done on a regular basis now, governments will absolutely use them as weapons If they are capable of using it as such or are allowed to (in the case of the pentagons recent hissy fit regarding anthropic's "morals"). So I wonder if this will ever be doable on someone's shitrig one day. I see people saying "We need a new architecture" or "transformers doesn't scale well" or "transformers is a flaming pile of dog shit" etc etc. But I think we shouldn't forget that data quality and training methods are important too. Could someone theoretically trade a model to do things like this with structured synthetic data they created themselves be automation? Could they do this on even data sets They can download from hugging face? https://xcancel.com/i/status/2040067095199625473
i don't know. i think doomers/safetyists will have a huge influence over AI regulations after the 2028 elections.they might stop AI progress, so it's possible we'll never get "AGI at home". depends on if they make international treaties that also handicap china.

My shitter crapped out and I just copped the cheapest pixel 10 model. It's the best phone I've had, I imagine you get diminishing returns the more you spend.
It's the same shit with AMP; they are trying to sell you a solution to a problem that they created themselves:>if you didn't had to load a shiton of JavaScript on the page, it would load way faster.>it would even save the the greedy capitalist bastard site owner money by not having to send 50MB to a user who just wants to read 2MB worth of content.>it would make the user experience better because lazy loading is not instantaneous; when the user scrolls, they have to wait a second for the content to load. It's not instantaneous.I imagine someone will eventually develop an extension that essentially lies to the site regarding the actual viewport, saying you have a monitor with a height much bigger than it actually is so that it triggers the loading of such elements. Site owners have proven themselves unworthy of knowing when you scroll down to a given page section.Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
>>108526889noscript/umatrix fixes that
>>108527392Enjoy your empty page. Sites nowadays are booby-trapped with JS.
>>108526889You should have tried the original Mosaic. That didn't lazy load anything at all, and you could wait for several minutes for resources to be loaded before anything rendered at all.I remember preferring xgopher because that at least was quick, even if it looked like ass.
>>108527650i've never come across a site worth visiting that had this.
anything but kindle
>>108527317fuck it, simple as
>>108519308I'd only buy PocketBook. Kobo killed many models and went full color (like what they did to the Libra 2), and I still don't like how color e-ink looks like.Kindle is an obvius no no, and chinese ones are bloated with android slopware.PocketBook stills offer color and non-color variants of many models. I'm looking to buy this one, or the Inkpad "Lite" (9.7" but 150 dpim ...maybe it's enough, I don't know yet)
>>108521793Discontinued, sadly, in favor of the Libra Colour. They still sell the Kobo Sage, larger screen but some reviews point to less battery capacity.
>>108526370>while being able to do so much moreanon, it's eink, what exactly are you planning to do with it that can't be achieved with a Kobo running KOReader?
I got a Boox Note Air 5C recently, not even a week ago. I wanted something to read both ebooks and manga from my Komga server. It's pretty good so far, text is much easier on the eyes and manga looks quite good as well. Colors are quite washed out no matter what you do, but for the occasional color page or illustration it's good enough I think. The colors are actually a bit brighter and warmer than in this picture, it's also not smeared-looking normally, that's just my old phone's camera.
How EXACTLY does this personally affect you?https://github.com/BryanLunduke/SoftwarePoliticsTracker
>>108527638Also some of these companies are huge, and don't become tainted by a few. Am I to believe there's no /pol/ack working on Red Hat? At Microsoft there almost certainly is. KDE has to have at least one real natsoc.

Nvidia is the Apple/Nike/Mcdonalds of GPUs. People buy them because they don't know better but they go with the "brand name" premium.
>>108525026AMD is jeet coded. Not using it sorry!
>>108527393Mcdonalds is completely pointless now. It's expensive and it sucks. You're better off ordering chilis or applebees to go if you want fast food. It will be better goyslop for the same price
>>108527426Isn't every fast food chain overpriced as shit? It's still fast food, the absolute lowest bottom of the barrel in food service>>108527453"Eating out" is not the same thing as buying ingredients and cooking yourself, they're inherently different concepts. A McDonalds in a Walmart is the trashiest, cheapest, saddest way to eat out that I can imagine.
>>108527855Walmart and major chains carry fast food stuff now in the frozen/pantry section. If you want checkers fries for example just buy a bag of it dont go to checkers.
>>108527878I suppose but again if you want to go eat out, a frozen mcdonalds burger doesn't get you that, it gets you driving back home and putting it in the oven to unfreeze and warm it and then eating back home in your kitchen.
What an odd thing to say.
>>108521336That disclaimer is only in the EU to avoid liability.

>>108526335I noticed it mainly while local streaming my games. I can use AV1 at longer distances without frame drops compared to H265 but no matter the range or bitrate it looks worse.
>>108526335If your encode was an older film with natural grain you have to tweak the AV1 settings to skip the denoise step. You will lose details in the original grain that the synthesize grain can't fake.
