>Our North Star is ‘1 engineer, 1 month, 1 million lines of code.’ To accomplish this previously unimaginable task, we’ve built a powerful code processing infrastructure. Our algorithmic infrastructure creates a scalable graph over source code at scale. Our AI processing infrastructure then enables us to apply AI agents, guided by algorithms, to make code modifications at scale. The core of this infrastructure is already operating at scale on problems such as code understanding.”

bsky is a lazy grift
Chinese knockoff ui of twitter, fake claims to being federated when actually federating is expensive, difficult and very easy to censor, terrible moderation, terrible frontend (that doesn't even use their own atproto spec), laughable feature parity (images are still shit quality and thats saying something in comparison to twitter), and an absolutely reprehensible community filled with reactionary politics (I guess it makes sense since the only people who'd move are people who react violently to tabloid politics)

>>107662764
It really depends on who you follow. Twitter feels much more retarded still, but I only use it to goon and a lot of bot political slop still comes up from accounts I do not follow, and topics I have no interest in.
Bsky I use only because that is what people in my same niche scientific field use, and they share cool things. Outside of them, I don't really see anything else on there. I quite like it for that fact, but I guess if you follow retards you will only see retarded shit?

I once tried to learn C++ but so many things just sucked:
The syntax, headder files, 1000 ways to do the same thing, the ((meta-)meta-) "build" system(s) and overall the feeling of the language:
It is like someone had continuously updated his hobby project without concerning other users.

I want to learn a modern language instead and chose Zig out of Rust or Zig as Rust seemed gay-coded to me.
Is it a good decision to learn Zig? Will Zig stay?
53 replies and 4 images omitted. Click here to view.
>>
>>107645788
what for?

there's very limited employment opportunities with zig, if any. the language is unstable and the compiler is not production ready.

on the hand, with rust there's significantly more opportunities that keep growing and the languages and compiler are stable.

i would go with c + cpp + rust route. you only need to know how to read cpp and debug it.
>>
>>107664692
>employment
>rust
anon the opportunities for zig and rust are almost the same
>>
>>107664732
>the opportunities for zig and rust are almost the same
but that's not true? at least right now. because no matter where i go to search, i can find plenty of open positions and contracts available for rust, but when it comes to zig, the amount of available positions are typically between 0 and 1.
>>
>>107664442
What did you expected from a language made by an autist who only cares about making an stdlib?
Zig is a perfect language to write zig stdlib in. And that's about it.
>>
>>107664732
Can you name any company hiring Zig developers?
Because it seems that every large corpo is looking for Rust developers.

Python, one of the very few modern & popular programming languages not owned by big tech, is now begging hard for money at python.org (picrel), Wikipedia style.

This comes after the PSF rejected an US government grant because the PSF can't stop shilling for DEI: https://developers.slashdot.org/story/25/10/28/211237/python-foundation-rejects-government-grant-over-dei-restrictions
The same PSF then reported a surge of new donators following the above rejection: https://developers.slashdot.org/story/25/11/09/2017240/python-foundation-donations-surge-after-rejecting-grant---but-sponsorships-still-needed
Yet, they are now begging for money, using a big, intrusive and cringe banner at python.org, kek.

This is what your donated money is used for: https://www.python.org/psf/grants

>Event site subscriptions (Meetup.com) (e.g. London Django Meetup)
>Django Girls Workshops (e.g. Django Girls Busan Workshop)
>PyLadies Workshops (e.g. All Day PyLadies Workshop)

These faggots have a whole page dedicated to their DEI philosophy: https://www.python.org/community/diversity
Their Libera Chat #python IRC channel is filled to the brim with trannies (they/them and she/her pronouns set as their IRC name).

I got them for $303 on Amazon new from a third party seller which also had a coupon in the middle of the night around Black Friday. They finally arrived yesterday. I think I won. The build quality is so nice going from some 558s I've been kicking around for at least 10 years. Love the ear cup swivel and just a bit of extra thump. The 490s have been recommended for gaming and I play some Counter-Strike so looking forward to that sound stage test.

Holy fuck the frequency response variations in the older Audeze headphones are insane. Tried a friend's 2F and no matter what measurements I used for EQ it sounded off. Seems like there were multiple variations of a few dB all across the spectrum. My old LCD-X did the same thing, none of the measurements I used seemed to line up with what I was hearing. Meanwhile the new LCD-2C I got seems to measure the same as the pair Oratory measured, it seems. Be careful when buying pre 2021 Audeze, anons. All those models have the same issue of screws loosening, though. Fucking hate this shit.
>>

when i was looking into the lcd 3 basically every post was about how bad unit variation was, even tyll-kun was famous for having been sent a defective pair from audeze,(forgot the model) you'd think if your going to check for qc you'd at least do it for basically the only real reviewer at the time
it's a shame too because the sound signature of audezes lcd line is so tempting but the weight and build just seems worse than aeons and aeons are so fucking cheap now, especially used and a lot of the used audeze's i see(locally) are old models
>. All those models have the same issue of screws loosening
maybe i'm just ignorant but that part of the design always seemed so weird to me, surely there is a better way to have the headband set up but maybe they don't care about improving upon things with snoy owning them now

>when i was looking into the lcd 3 basically every post was about how bad unit variation was
Basically every pre 2021 Audeze seems to have bad unit variation. They completely revised the way they make the drivers and wiring post 2021 and that seems to have eliminated most of those unit variations issues. If you want to replace the drivers with the new version that's $500 though cause they're a fucking jewish company. Same reason they charge you hundreds of dollars for Reveal which is basically premade EQ presets you could make yourself. Truly amazing.
> but the weight and build just seems worse than aeons
Yes and yes. I do like their models because you can EQ them lots and they'll basically never distort and also decent for glasses users since less seal dependent. But I wish they'd stop being such a greedy fucking company. Probably impossible with Sony owning them now. I remember when LCD-2C was supposed to be a Drop item and cost $600(I actually used to own one of those launch LCD-2Cs, they were cheaper and came in a regular box instead) and then Audeze pulled out and jacked the price to $800 lmao.
>a lot of the used audeze's i see(locally) are old models
Yeah, that's kind of a problem. I used to have an older LCD-X which I got for fairly cheap but the unit variation made them impossible to EQ without a measuring rig. And It's more cost efficient to just get a new LCD-2C than pay $500 plus shipping so they replace the drivers with non shit ones.
>maybe i'm just ignorant but that part of the design always seemed so weird to me, surely there is a better way to have the headband set up but maybe they don't care about improving upon things with snoy owning them now
They did actually fix that screw but only in LCD-5,4z and MM-500 lmao. Boggles the mind they won't use the new design with new versions of older LCD models but I guess they just don't care. Loctite fixes that but I'd prefer not to have to DIY solutions for headphones that cost ~1k.
