>>107699645As a Linux user, there is a caveat there. You need AMD GPU. When I used Nvidia GPU, lots of things did not just work including games like starsector. Needed a workaround to run. With AMD they do just work, it's very hard compared to Nvidia to find broken things.
For some reason with computers people forget how to check things let alone learn things, so they'll always be frustrated that them and the developer can't read each other's minds. Never happened with a vacuum cleaner.

Half-venting, half-serious inquiry: why the fuck is Google shadowbanning (shown to only me while logged in, not shown to anyone else or to me while logged out) the following comments. Separate comments on separate lines, all shadowbanned:>About hardware: even back in 2016 I needed 128Gb of RAM to provide a service for my clients on a level that they expected, in 2025 that's a Threadripper with 8x32 and 24Gb of VRAM at minimum.>My company will outperform anyone who has inferior software, hardware, and less efficient pipelines. Outperform on money and on time. Clients expect top end results with a quick turnaround.>Another example, I have 3 large screens because over a year, it's far cheaper for me to buy 2 extra monitors, than to constantly waste time alt+tabbing to view references or communicate, etc.>But nobody would ever need 3 screens because you can do everything with 1 screen also, right? That's the difference between tinkerers and professionals: time = money.(arguing with a faggot saying my shitty thinkpad and opensource toys can do *everything*)Is Google fucking retarded? I haven't been able to converse with anyone for the better part of the last 5 years. The same bullshit, have a casual conversation going (or try to have), then check it while logged out and see that 70% of what I've posted has never appeared publicly. Sometimes the most mundane shit gets autodeleted like: "I wish you happy holidays, mate". At one point I tried to help some guy out by typing only "You can find it by googling *some mundane shit about computing*" aaaand shadowbanned. I may use my phone and an alt account, still the same shit. What in the ungodly fuck is going on? Not a single swearword. Not a single no-no topic. How do you access ext3 or ext4 partitions from windows 10?i used Ext2fsd which is a small program that can be ran as a service and automounts your filesystem in read only mode to the drive letter of your choice.i hadn't used windows in a while and after a reinstall it doesn't seem to work anymore. It can see my partition, tries to mount it but when i click on the drive in windows explorer it says "you need to format the drive before you use it" then when i choose "no" it says "the volume does not contain a recognized filesystem.windows can't into Ext partitions anymore? how is this even acceptable?

>>107704201>>107703979>>107703927>>107703918>>107703814real pro move if you want macOS to feel faster and less annoying is to rip all the built in workflows out of the system. trash Launchpad forever and just make 8 separate Finder windows pinned to each workspace so you can alt tab into them instantly. no one ever uses half the stuff Apple put in there anyway.also the so called privacy features are just a smokescreen. i read somewhere Apple literally looks at your mac usage telemetry in real time and uses it to tune whatever they think you want next, so turning off analytics doesn’t actually stop the flow. just embrace it and rename your main user folder to something like “NIRTEX” so they can’t guess who you are. they say it won’t help but obfuscation makes the models confused and that’s how you win.if you want your spotlight searches to feel snappy, uncheck “improve search” because every time spotlight sends data back to apple servers it slows the local indexer down. limiting that to apps only stops most of the hidden upload overhead.turn off filevault too if you care about speed. encryption is for people who like slow boottimes.

Emacs 29 and 30 had huge performance gains due to native elisp compilation and a better JSON library.
