I moved to Japan/Tokyo area, and I'm looking for a good hifi tube setup.
I want a turntable and a good disk player that can play hi fidelity formats.
So far the only Japanese brands I'm settled on are an Audiotechnica turntable but I am clueless on tube amps and receivers.

>>107568333
Well I do, I wanted a /g/ opinion. Also most of the people I with aren't audiophiles, which is ironic because I'm a sonar analyst.
Its also super overwhelming, I went to electric city in Akiharaba and it just not the place to be unless you know your shit.
So far the only tube amps made in Japan I know are Luxman and SunAudio. I'm also looking for something used/vintage.
I have stack of magic eye sound level tubes and I've been getting into tube eletronics lately, I'm bulding a magic eye tube sound level bar that looks really nice.

Tubes are a meme. What's the amp even for? Speakers? They'd better have high sensitivity, because most tube amps don't have much power.

If you let a company crawl through your home, map every corner of your life, all because you couldn't spare ten minutes a week with a vacuum… well… you get what you get. And you earned it.
>>
>>107570178
It takes a lot more than 10 minutes to vacuum my home. I am not too worried about US agencies knowing my floor plan, they have other and even more precise ways to obtain those. I am more worried about China and find it puzzling that media was able to go so deeply into TDS that they didn't cover this. Even the comments and fora relating to those articles are completely lost though here we can blame the wumao.

In any case, I use my Roomba in darkness. I can tell it struggles with the SLAM since it rarely finds its way back to the docing station, and then only by random.

A lot of chink android boxes have surpassed it. No other streaming box that can also use the streaming services has surpassed it yet. Fire Cube? is the closest thing and not bitstreaming audio last time I checked.

>>107563198
The chink Zidoo/Dune boxes w CoreElec blow it out of the water, but they can't use streaming services. I'll buy one when my 2019 shield pro dies/can't keep up anymore. If you want it to be able to use streaming services, then yes, there is nothing else. Tbh, just buy a chink box and use your tv for the streaming shit. Not like the streaming services have decent audio anyway. You do have a reciever w earc right?

US moves to bar CHIPS Act recipients from purchasing Chinese chipmaking equipment for 10 years in November.
US also tighten their export control, causing CXMT expansion to cut short.
Both CXMT and YMTC might be fully banned soon, they are still allowed to work with other companies and supply their memory for chinese market for now, this could soon change.

When you got an unit when it was new. It held excellent value as you had years of free adapter upgrades. These days there are far more compelling options that have better valve if you don't mind have "slight-worst" noise/performance ratio and a possibility of being forced to upgrade if there is a radical change in desktop sockets.
