tried it to get a linux kernel module to install it didn't work. Copilot, Grok, gpt and gemini weren't better. Solution was that the distro downloads src and obj dir you just had to copy a couple files from the obj dir over to src dir and then it works without problems. Thats not written down anywhere however so it never understood it. So far I have found only google's search to be somewhat helpful because it doesn't spam you with words.

copilot.microsoft.com is unironically good though, it gives you chatgpt with unlimited prompts without having to sign in whatsoever, i love to use it in incognito tab when quickly wanting to calculate something or get a list sorted or need some imagination sparking when im doing worldbuilding, tabletop campaigns, or trying to make my vidya. its actually good. i dont use the copilot app because i get the ick feeling like it's profiling me

im on windows lts, so its from mozilla directly, but i grab it from ftp servers because supposedly downloading from mozilla has some form of tracking if privacyguides is to be trusted. i mostly run just firefox esr + ubo, and make a couple of tweaks in settings, then grab some stuff from betterfox and put it manually into about config. i dont go overboard with tweaking as i usually regret doing it afterwards historically so i learned from my lessons

It's firefox until ladybird is ready
recently made some tests with chrome checking the loading speed of some aids youtube page
firefox is slower but not noticeably. All things considered I don't give a fuck about performance, it's good enough on ff.

So that leaves us with a browser that doesn't suck your data like a cheap whore with the best adblock in business. I think it's good enough for now

>repeated passive reading is much worse
But most repeated reading is not that passive. How many people are just mindlessly reading a text over and over anyway? I've learned most things from repeated reading without even taking notes. Yet everywhere it's said "rereading is a bad strategy". Thanks to repeated reading I have more knowledge than the vast majority of people with their spaced repetition systems. Shouldn't be possible according to Science(tm), but it is. Maybe the difference comes out in an experiment where you have to memorize random lists in laboratory conditions. In such conditions repeated reading does seem like a bad strategy, but that's not the same thing as rereading in real life. The whole repeated reading vs active recall is a false dichotomy in any case. I think the academic discussion about it is too oriented to testing rather than long-term knowledge acquisition and internalization.
