Why is it normal for the most popular big tech sites to fully load for 5-10 seconds? I tested it on many different machines. These sites are amateur jobs.

Are these things even worth it anymore? I have the original 8GB pic related. Now the 16GB is almost $170 and the HAT is pretty useless though its done a 2x street price since launch. I could get a lattepanda or something. I like the idea of a Pi5 16GB: enough memory and processor to run better/larger LLMs off 2.5W at ~1 token/sec. Even a solar battery. It's cool to have a philosopher in a box like that. The tinker side GPIO and stuff doesn't interest me for personal projects. Anyway should I just get a Jetson Nano or N150 or something.

What tutorial video or Books do you recommend?

The fact you haven't mentioned a single thing about what you intend to use the system for makes it very clear that your "learning" has no goal other than autistic mental masturbation, so just do whatever you want. You'll be "learning" trains and/or wind turbines next.

i saw this insane cashback stack with topcashback(uk) during black friday
it was 25% + 10 pounds bonus on a 30 pound spend and then ali had a paypal promo where you get $12 back over $90
a lot of people went for it when we found it on ozbargain but i didn't have the confidence to go for it because it had a bunch of conditions like no coupons and i had heard your site denies a lot for no reason
>>
I'm guessing no-one makes these cheap magnetic lenses anymore since all I can find on ali is stupid clips and magsafe polarity lenses.

Dado Banatao, the filipino you never knew was important to computers, died today. He was 79.

>From his humble beginnings in the farming town of Iguig in Cagayan province, Banatao went on to develop landmark technologies. These include the first 10-Mbit Ethernet CMOS chip and system logic chipsets for the IBM PC-XT and PC-AT. There were also the first graphics accelerator chip and the pioneering local bus architecture that sped up computer performance.

Banatao earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology. He then earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science at Stanford University in California.

He co-founded the chipset company Mostron in 1984 and, a year later, Chips and Technologies. The latter was a graphics adapter company that was eventually acquired by Intel for approximately $430 million. Most Intel (and possibly all) Accelerated Graphics Cards all rely on his contributions today.
>In 1989, he founded S3 Graphics, which pioneered the local bus concept and developed Windows accelerator chips. S3 Graphics became the third-most profitable technology company in 1993.
>Shifting to venture capital, Banatao founded Tallwood Venture in 2000. It is a firm focused on investing in semiconductor technology, where he served as managing partner.

What's /g/'s opinion on Mental Outlaw? I've been a fan of his for a long long time, he's the one that made me privacy conscious and made me switch to Linux. I remember once reading in one of his comment sections that he was "bullied off /g/" by some guy, is this true? Also, if you're seeing this thread Kenny, hi!

that's like saying "just use your phone" when you have a nice, physical keyboard. A dedicated calculator with its tactile feedback and being purpose built have its advantages.

the fact that this industry hasn't settled on a standard protocol by now is suspicious.
they could all talk to each other if they agreed on e2e algoeithm and a template for media and text.

Depends on the purpose. Meta can easily push their standard if they cooperate with other big players like Viber. Don’t expect that from Telegram or Signal though.

Why? All we need is something like Jami, but with i2p-like layer (for offline message delivery, and optional obfuscation of IPs). You get a public key, and that's it. That's your "account". No more account bans, restrictions, temporary suspensions, warnings, and whatever other bullshit centralized servers use to rape their cattle into submission.

why do autists love this technology?

>>107667228
This was a research lab and we were experimenting with the design and the materials to make sensitive devices. One of many methods was to apply a current and measure the voltage, and use a X-Y mode on the scope. The I-V plot tells you a lot about how the sensor works.

why not just use a sourcemeter? A sourcemeter wouldn't need a microvolt plugin and most labs have multiple ones. Sounds like you guys used the oscilloscope as a spare sourcemeter.
>>

>>
>>107667726
>sourcemeter
This was more than 10 years ago and we didn't have any sourcemeters. The oscilloscope also gave us an instant response when operating the sensors to what the sensors were meant to sense.
Curve tracers were available but were much slower.
