powershell is trash, complete and utter pathetic excuse for a shell
and this thing was developed to replace the utter useless cmd.exe
it just proves that windows is in fact the least productive, least usable operating system out of everything available
even macos has a fully functioning shell

Whenever i try to use powershell for anything nothing ever works, even on windows. Sometimes I message curl commands to my coworkers and they say they don't work and it's because apparently curl is an alias for Invoke-WebRequest and is not compatible with curl. Not even chatgpt knows how to use powershell. Everything it shits out is broken.

this is fucking hilarious. doesn't matter if apex, valorant, rust, cs2 faceit or any other league. any FPS is currently unplayable because kids run color/ML aimbots on their second pc and forward inputs to their gayming pc with this 40$ passthrough device. and all the jeet AC devs are too stupid to write an aimbot detection algo that doesn't result in 6 million false positive bans. (the valorant jeets literally used their RAT malware anticheat to check&ban players that stream a centered screen region which is smaller than 512x512 pixels).

you two will make me make a few big posts, you get that right?

first of all, Heroes 3 Complete from Gog, Horn of the Abyss, VCMI and modded gog are all different games that are very different to play and have huge differences where at some point the similarities are so small, Civ 5 or Chess are more similar to some of these games than how similar they are to each other:

the Gog version, hd version, complete and I will add HotA to the mix are all essentially vanilla heroes 3 versions that are the standard campaign or small numbers skirmish games - they are balanced and all the monsters, skills ( except for like 5 god ones : town portal, fly, Dimension Door, implosion and resurrect ) are mostly balanced. depending on the size of map, the game duration is different and the power of the monsters and the hero battles is small and balanced. bigger maps may favor magic skills and imba shit like necro while small maps favor attack and defence bonuses.
On a linux machine this version of the game is the easiest to install - just install the gog exe into wine/lutris and its done.

But the versions mentioned above are boring : small number of factions to choose from, not so many imba monsters or skills, it gets stale after a while. Gog modded and VCMI both turn the game on its head:

Gog modded is what i like: everything gets 100 times stronger and the early game is the only part of the game where decisions matter and army combat is very interesting. gog modded has the problem that there is a point where if you are from an op faction and you have town portal and dimension door, the game is over, but until that point the game is arguably the most interesting heroes 3 experience. its not the end point but the journey. i can go into huge details, but i am lazy. gog modded is the hardest game to run on linux - it requires 3 different lutris installs of 3 different Windows vms each into each other and the end result can only be played in Gamescope.

https://vcmi.eu/ on the other hand is easy to install and offers a variety of modification options, including new AIs, new factions, new music.... like a big ass list of new shit.... most of which i did not have fun playing. main problem is the AI - you would expect the default AI to be somewhat competent, but its pants on head retarded. I think what happened is that they use the default chess AI algorithm where the AI consider all possible options N steps ahead and choose the best option, but here N is 1, so its fucking retarded as anything that can happen in the span of 2 days is not considered. The AI is also scared of normal screeps and will only take fights it considers to be 100% winnable - it will basically just avoid fighting for progression and if you mix this with just thinking for the current day - the AI gets stucked in its base on 1 base and it can literally go AFK forever if even 1 big creep camp blocks its path.

While a normal player will just try to finish the game once he gets dimension door or flying and normal AI will use them very weakly to just take 1 at most easy to take castle, the standard AI in VCMI is afraid of even going outside its starting castle. there are no words to describe just how better the AI in modded wog and even standard HotA are. Of course VCMI does let you get another AI and if you experiment a lot it probably can be made fun... but damn it will require testing a lot. modded wog just works - only difficulty is to install it. VCMI is easy to instal atleast.

also forgot to mention that at some point default VCMI can become even less balanced: the creeps that hold big items in the progression zone may have high numbers and high power but they also are not bound on what items they guard like in modded wog - modded wog banns Armageddon sword because it is actually the strongest item in the game as it makes all fights revolve around casting armageddon, slow and either running away, defending or other shenanigans.... only time i remember when i could be stopped once i get Armageddon sword was when the other hero had it as well. What does VCMI do? it limits greatly the power of individual monsters and many skills, but you can still find Armageddon sword being guarded by tier 7 monsters - it just makes the whole game into step 1: get Armageddon sword, step 2: get dimension door and step 3 end the game
VCMI at least the last game i played on it was even less balanced than modded wog. I felt my power going from 1 to 100000000 after just getting 2 items.

my man, i made 5 fucking posts in this thread about a game made in 1999 and my past year review looks like pic related. Do not tell me to "evolve or die". the old games with their systems work well enough even into modernity and because they usually have some sort of local hosted servers, many of the games made 10-20 years ago will survive another 10-20 years, meanwhile Concord cannot survive 10 days.
there is no evolution here. it is a slight deviation into experimentation land. A shit ton of games people play do have the old formula. Games like CS2 are not games but jobs - I play it only to get cases and no more, yes i play it weekly, but not a single second more after i get the case. if CS2 is the most popular game of the so called evolved games and a shit ton of people play only as much as needed to get their weekly drops, do you think your evolution is good? Your evolution may as well be summarized as "pay me to play". and before you go and tell me that case drops are not the main motivation to play cs2 - valve have a game with case drops and the new matchmaking system - deadwatch or whatever its name is called - no cases and only 10 k players. most of the other games are the same too - overwatch is at like 30k, Call of duty and Battlefield are at more but still not that many...
the new matchmaking system is just not fun. If you pay me I will play it, but I am actually and literally telling you to your face that that I need to be employeed by you to play it.

it even gets worse when you think about how if the skin economy collapses this means that i am now paid less to play a modern game, which means that technically the result of your matchmaking is that i now can and should sue Valve for missed wages or reduced wages:

after looking online i see the following:

"
Legal Basis for Your Claim
Employers in Bulgaria are legally required to provide equal working conditions and pay for equal work. Non-payment of wages is a clear violation. The law also prohibits retaliation against employees who assert their rights, offering you protection if you take action.

Steps to Take Before Going to Court
Gather Evidence: Collect your employment contract, pay slips (especially the last one showing the missed payment), bank statements, and any written communication about the unpaid wages.

Formal Written Demand: Send your employer a dated, written reminder asking for payment and set a reasonable deadline (e.g., 7 days). This creates a crucial paper trail.

Seek Free Assistance: Before filing a lawsuit, you can submit a complaint to the Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria. They can investigate and help mediate a solution, though they cannot impose fines or force payment.

Why aren't you downloading all the software/tools for anything you could ever want to do offline on your OS since 2010?

Download sites for obscure tools and utilities go down every year, accelerated since the last 5. Software support cycles are the fire in which we burn.

"In the linux world" this is reality; you download couple ISOs and mount them to offline Linux pc and have all software ever existed. In your Windows most of the ISOs and apps from any era wouldn't function properly, and would have to install Dependency Walker or the newer Dependencies tool to identify which DLLs are missing and troubleshoot with internet access to research and download random dll files. Even that Linux from 2004 would have GUI software manager that you just click and install anything ever existed, all locally offline. People like you are so stupid you don't even know what you are talking about.

I do actually. I have a small vault for both my XP daily-driver and new secondary machine. Every time I add some utility to my collection, I keep convincing myself about supremacy of old (and even new) windows versions over troonix.

I can not believe HDDs are still the go to solution for cheap and large storage. Why are cheap 4TB or 8TB SSDs still not a thing? 4TB 50 bucks, 8TB 80 bucks. If we can't have that, we will never say goodbye to HDDs.

When is the AI bubble going to pop? This is taking too long.

When investor appetite falls enough that free cash stops flowing into AI labeled startups.
For this to happen the people funding the bubble (Enterprise boomers who think ChatGPT is God, Wall Street Finance bro retards, Oil Sheiks, Retail chasing FOMO, Korean pension funds) needs to stop buying equity and credit of AI startups.
Once AI startups cannot service their debt, the data centers don't get paid, the data center debt doesn't get paid, forced sales are triggered, nvidia doesn't get paid, oracle can't service their debt, microsoft scales back investment out of caution, same for google, meta defaults on its AI venture debt, panic selling of equity begins, AI related debt is marked to near zero and becomes impossible to refinance, AI startup stakes marked down to zero, their debt becomes worthless, banks mark down their stakes, they are forced to sell, funds get margin called and are forced to sell, Elon buys XAI from his sandnigger investors for cents on the dollar, Altman moves to Israel to give Ted talks, the FED starts quantitative easing.
And then we move on to the next grift.

>>
>>107700488

>>
>>107700625
I like how things in GPL depend on how faggots feel.
GPL is turning slowly into the cuck license:
>release your changes: we don't care
>copyright of your work: depends on your views
well, as far as the copyright act is concerned, rockchip didn't do anything wrong, they just got rid of those copyright comments.
>>
>>107697881

You can’t, because the code licensed through it is viral, so your new “relicensed” thing will have to be GPL (as it was built on top of GPL code).

Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation.
