Is Yandex the best search engine to use as an America? My primary concern is US government surveillance
>>107717292Your comment is so insanely ignorant I don't even know how to explain this to you in a way you'd understand outside of recommending you start studying encryption methods from ground zero. I hope you look back on your comment in a decade and realize how pants-on-head retarded it was.
>>107717145The Russian government ? No. A Yandex employee or affiliate for a few dollars? YesThis would be a good way to actually get your searches personally looked by an intelligence analyst since less than %1 of searches in the US are with.I can tell you exactly it would. Say there's an advertising company in Kazachstan or whatever the fuck shithole that's not hostile to Russia. And this company is a CIA front. So this company approaches Yandex offering a handsome sum, or employee with a bribe. They tell Yandex they want to advertise to Americans send your data from America to us. And then Russia is not going to bend over backwards protecting American data. Know what the worst thing is? The CIA front wouldn't have to convince or bribe Yandex. Data sharing with affiliates is automated and they can pick the data they want like it's Amazon shopping.I guarantee you this is going on exactly or something very close to it. Use searx
>Which continent? North or South?
>>107717127I unironically use Yandex sometimes because it gives better search results that Firefox or Google. It's literally just a better product.
>>107717127yes but you also need to get a baikal or elbrus based computer and install astra linux if you want to be 100% safe from western globohomo surveillance

I know jack shit about computers, but I need a small, durable laptop for college. Ideally, it would have a long battery life, be lightweight, and survive at least five years. It's going to go through a lot of abuse, but I mostly just need it for the internet and a word processor. Maybe some light photo and video editing. Is there anything under $250 that isn't shit? Thanks

I did my bsc in denmark and msc in london and pretty much everybody used a macwindows / linux if usually fine but the moment you’ll run into some issues you will get a shrug because not only will the instructor not care, he probably couldn’t help you even if he wanted to - at bedt he knows some python and how to use venv and that’s about it.In contrast when something fucks up on a mac you won’t be the only one with that issue so it’ll get solved efficientlybeing a special snowflake isn’t worth it in school

How over is pc building for little timmies?
I was considering building a PC since the Series X is now $650 but honestly I think I'll just trade in my Series S and upgrade. My ZOGbox game library is worth about $300 and I don't play online anyway. I can't believe it got this bad.

It's been a few years since its birth, and many people in tech have made similar decisions, mostly because they struggle to find other options. Over the years they have seen this combination of two different worlds nurtured, and regret, anger, relief, and many emotions ensuedIs it worth it, /g/?

We wouldn't be in this hardware pricing fiasco if babyducks didn't cling to their old hardware and instead turned it in to be crushed and melted, harvested for precious metals and remade

>>107716299>didn't cling to their old hardwareSo. But the majority isn't worth the effort of bothering. Most of the time it's lucky to be even crushed...
