FAQ:
>How do I activate Windows?
https://github.com/massgravel/Microsoft-Activation-Scripts
HWID2 mimics a valid installation to generate a permanent legitimate license.

>Which version should I install?
W10 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2021
-10 yrs support, EoL 2032
-5 yrs on non-IoT LTSC
-No feature updates
-Comes with Win32 system utils
-Binary identical to Enterprise except no MS Store and no bloat apps
-If you need MS Store run this in cmd: wsreset -i
-Basically Windows: Classic 9x/XP/7 Edition, 10 years support and you decide when you want to update/upgrade

W10/W11 Home/Pro/Edu/Ent
-Dont install
-1.5-2 yrs support
-Constant forced updates
-Preinstalled bloatware apps (games, music, news, weather, people, onedrive, ads in start menu, etc)
*W11 specific
*Massive UI usability downgrades
*Taskbar removed features and options
*File explorer rewritten w/ reduced performance
*Has new CPU scheduler to support 12th+ gen Intel E-cores (its only redeeming feature)

>Is there a good version of W11?
No, 11 IoT LTSC *might* be good when released 24H2.

>How do I activate Office?

Alternatively, use MSOffice through your browser since it's free,
or try OnlyOffice/LibreOffice and set it to save as MSOffice file formats.

That's just it, I can't find the files / folder anywhere. Disk cleanup is just telling me there's 11gb of windows update files to clean, which won't go away, and updating gives me the error. I can't even do a system refresh / restore because "Something went wrong, undoing changes"

What's the best way to lock some folders on my different hard drives? Nephew will be at my home for a few days, I won't forbid him the use of my PC (I mean, he likes vidyas as much as I do), but I'd like to make sure he won't stumble onto my porn. Sure, I know all the kids these days have seen some porn, but still. And let's not delve into some of my JAV fetishes.
I know I could use Bitlocker, but it seems overkill, and I don't want to encrypt anything.

How do you download the latest adobe sets in the year of cloud subscription services scamming you out of hundreds of dollars a year?™ I would purchase if they were fairly priced. But they aren't. I'm also fine with downloading a previous version. So instead of doing optimize-offline I can just take a stroll through the policy editor and turn off anything that I pretty clearly don't want? And that stuff will be removed with the next reboot? I figured I'd start with private-secure-windows and then go through looking for bloat to remove (obviously referencing what it is and confirming that it can/should be removed). Will that miss anything that I'd have to actually uninstall instead of just turning off in policy? Is there a good list anywhere instead of it just all being bundled into scripts?

I have a very odd problem.
Every time when Windows temp folder files get deleted, every .exe file become 0 KB in size.
Let's say I download a 7zip.exe installer and install it. After deleting Windows temp folder files the installer 7zip.exe as well as 7zip.exe (the installed file inside the Program folder) become 0 KB. This somehow happens with most but not all programs.
I don't have a restore point before this problem. How to fix this without reinstalling Windows?
If this helps. It all started after I left the computer online, to download a large file, which caused the drive to become full before I returned. So the drive or Windows shit itself because of having 0 free space and now cause said problem.
>>
>>100006256
IMO you should probably run a chkdks /f /r on your C:\ to see if it can find/fix any corruption in the disk cause it might've happened when you completely filled the thing up.
>>
>>100007300
So the command will try to fix the damage? Will this cause trouble or affect any existing data?

chkdsk has been in Windows/MS-DOS since forever. It won't delete or change any data, just try to find and fix any bad or corrupted sectors/files in your disk.

>>
What's the best telemetry removal program that won't break shit?
>>
>>100009144
ShutUp10++ has recommended settings that won't break anything. I think W10Privacy also does.
The private-secure-windows script also sets a safe amount of group policies by default based on some MS derived guides for enterprise IT when it comes to keeping Windows private in an Enterprise/Education setting.
>>
>>100009194
Mainly looking for a program that only touches group policy and doesn't fuck with registry or run power shell script bullshit. Do those programs meet that criteria?
>>
>>100009210
Group policy's whole deal is setting registry keys across one or multiple computers, anon. It's just a frontend to it like the other two I mentioned that aren't the script. And the script's whole deal like I said is enabling/disabling group policies.
>>
>>100009233
Would you recommend privacy.sexy? Other than shutup10, the other programs seem to be abandoned.
>>
>>100009367
W10Privacy got an update not too long ago though? ShutUp10++ hasn't had an update since October either. Like the only reason these tools would ever need to update is if there's new things to block and there hasn't been anything like that for a while, last being disabling Co-Pilot. The script doesn't really need to update because it just follows MS's own articles that haven't changed in a while.
>>
So i had a noob question. i bought an asus laptop that contained win 11 home preinstalled. i tried to install win 10 ltsc but it cannot find drives in the installation menu. the IRST solution only shows up for win 11. is there another workaround for this? win11 really sucks.
>>
>>100009844
IMO you should just use MAS to change it to Enterprise (and activate it again) and stick with what you have. Maybe in the future you could switch over to IoT LTSC 2024 when that rocks up.
>>

You can't upgrade a Home install to LTSC natively. LTSC itself can't be upgraded to.

Is there any program that will automatically sandbox any usb drive/sd card inserted into a Windows 10 machine? The tricky part is that it has to be under some licence that will allow me to use it freely and without charge on a company computer, since my boss is stingy when it comes to employee equipment. I need this kind of software since some of my customers are retarded and bring in infected drives - so far everything got blocked by windows defender but I have some files that I can't afford to lose and don't want to risk them because of some retard.
>>
Should I get 10 LTSC? I don't know much about feature updates, currently on debloated education but 2025 is soon. What difference would I notice? Will it mess with games or software not having the feature updates?
>>
>>100015853
I've never had an issue with 10 LTSC and compatibility with programs and games. I've been using it the last 4 years or so. I don't use UWP stuff or MS Store, so if I'm incompatible with Microsoft Store apps, then I'm in ignorant bliss about it.
>>
is malwarebytes still good if i just need to run a quick scan of my pc?
>>
>>99972227
>>99975563
Alright I solved it. If anyone has the same issue, some laptops have retarded "security" measures that prevent you from messing with stuff in the BIOS screen. So to boot HirenBootCD I had to revert legacy back to UEFI and boot Windows 10 normally, then on the login screen choose to restart while holding down shift. When I did that it gave me a direct option to do the USB boot and then it was easy to find the password reset tools.
>>
...so is 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC actually out yet in beta or whatever or were those all just malware posts I've been seeing lately?
I have Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC, is there any way to upgrade it to Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC, if it is?

honestly, if you are a wage slave and want WSL2 you should just go to Windows 11. Win11 has a lot of QoL fixes that you'll need if you deal with shitware VPN software like Cisco AnyConnect. >>
>>100020658
Android emulation (that works properly) is basically a chinese closed-source hellscape that you need to debloat/debotnet to stop them being awful. The two I hear good things about (sans the mentioned crap) are Nox, MEMu and LDPlayer,
and a guy on github wrote guides to debloat either of them.
https://gist.github.com/TameemS/72c4b92131977aced56e727d51599a48
Though according to a comment Nox read-only protects some files now the guide tells you to remove so you gotta use an android file explorer in-emulater that can overwrite read-only attributes.

Sorry if this was asked before or there is some guide already explaining this.
What's the best way to create an image of a Windows install that works for installation in all situations: reinstall, drive was wiped clean, install on a different machine.
Basically I want to install of W10 IoT LTSC with some things configured/some apps installed in my own way and i want to use this installation as sort of a base install. Kind of like a restore point but I can use it on any machine. I just have an image of this install and I "flash" it on any machine, any drive and there it is. Maybe have more different such "base install images" to move around. What's the best way to achieve this?
>>
>>100026570
You can use NTLite for that. Or DISM.
You can create an install.wim image of your current system and use that as the basis of a Windows installer install.wim file.

the djvu file is like 100 mb, and the optimized converted pdf is over 500 mb. not an issue in current year, but holy shit its a big file. get creative, some programs can read file extensions youre not even aware of yet.

How exactly does winget work when it comes to removing W11 "system" marked apps? You can uninstall xbox stuff or phone link easily with winget and it seems like absolutely nothing breaks unlike the third party uninstallers, and you can easily re-install it back with Store or Winget if needed for games or something. Is it just Remove-AppxPackage or different?

Win 11 has wslg and also has the best ui for seamlessly modding with stardock software due to the changes made to it. Some of the UI DOES SUCK but pretty much all of it is usable without bricking my pc unlike 10 and simple classic. it's unbelievable how much better it works. meanwhile cancelling updates has never worked on 10 for me, but using revios to do it in 11 does.

I have 8 monitors connected basically to one pc, and then also 3-4 separate displays that sit at one desk and another 4 on the other. At the same time I want to use KM to switch between all of them flawlessly like barrier and multipllicity
The problem I ran into is that the topology management in windows sucks dick. The most ideal situation would be somehow turning my current PC into two separate PCs but I'm not sure how i'd go about accomplishing that on the cheap. any solution I come up with would mean new and expensive long wires for one gpu and the other, plus a new thin client. Trying to keep all of the monitors where they are and use some kind of trick to block the path between them while still having access to my multiplicity pcs on both sides seems impossible. Is there any fix for this?

Linux distribution home user oriented ecosystem will always be pretty cool to me, I obviously don't think it'll ever catch up to Windows or macOS or ChromeOS in their select categories, but just the idea is very fascinating of humans making a fully FOSS ecosystem that in theory completely respects privacy and security and allows you to use any sort of old hardware with it is really based. The only issue is that in reality it gets bitch slapped into the dirt because corpos will support and protect other corpos, MS Office doesn't work on it, Adobe Suite doesn't work on it, most popular online games don't work on it, and it's sadly too heavily focused on autistic programmers. Like trying to navigate any linux site is just a pain in the ass, and most of their distro installers are fucking awful. The only one I think that has any hope of being half decent are Ubuntu/Fedora because their sites/installers/first impressions arent comically bad compared to Apple/Microsoft/Google heavy hitters, but sadly the illusion of comfiness with linux instantly falls apart and disappears when you try interacting with actual PROGRAMS and not just the OS and linux bubble. You soon realize how restricted it is because nobody supports it and it's just tedium of having to pray every time you want to install anything if it'll work or not. Linux bros love to sell the idea of "bro you can make anything work on linux if you are smart enuff!!!!111" but in reality no, you just cannot, they are completely reliant on goodwill of companies that make software/programs/vidya.

My opinion is that the guide is too opinionated and breaks too much stuff, I only attempted using it once and it did not work for my use cases. For me? It's just running a SHA checked, scanned, vanilla copy of W10/11 Education/Enterprise, installing it offline and locally, and then disabling everything I personally actually don't want in Desktop/Taskbar/Startmenu/Settings/Controlpanel/Services/TaskScheduler/GroupPolicy. That way I can 100% be aware of what's going on on my computer and what changes I made from vanilla so I can fix them if need be, keeping track of what things you disable in more deep/problematic parts like Services/TaskScheduler can be nice so you can fix it if there's an issue. I absolutely hate third party debloaters like OOSU10 or Winutil even though they are pretty sane/normal compared to most debloat scripts. It just tickles my autism wrong and always makes my installs feel dirty if I use that slop.

Windows updates are basically a computer literacy test.

If you're too dumb, stupid, or technology illiterate to do a 30 second google to block the updates until you want to do them, you are exactly the type of braindead subhuman normie retard who can't be trusted to take care of a computer. If you cry about something this fucking simple, you are too fucking stupid to use a computer, you are too fucking stupid to even breathe without assistance and need to be put in assisted living since you clearly can't take care of yourself much less your computer. You are exactly the type of retard who should not have a choice to apply updates. The funniest part about this is that even with everything done for you, you subhuman niggers still manage to fuck up your PC by ignoring all warnings and still intentionally installing 219837387 viruses and 13952598 hobbyist system hacks that break your entire system and proceeding to blame MS and Windows for your own retardation. Forced updates on normie retards are the best thing to happen to computing, it protects braindead retard niggers like you from yourselves (usually), while having a net positive impact on computer literate users because we don't have to deal with most of your self inflicted retard problems anymore. If you need to ask how to turn it off, you don't have the IQ to maintain a computer without auto updates.

this is just mouse without borders which is honestly pretty bad and hasnt been updated since 7. Some limitations I consider unacceptable:
Cant change the topology of the screens in more than 2 directions, only one of which can be up OR down.
Basically my set up has 1/2 3 4 in a U on one end, and an L of 1 2 34 on the other end. What this means is that pretty much all of my screens are length wise so having to go to one end means having to go through every screen to get to it. Only top and bottom are really usable. pretty much nothing solves this internal pc topology either. The moment I make my screen's lock via shifting half of them down one of the two connected pcs becomes unreachable. I also cantv virtually resize the displays freely to change which screen even gets access.

what would be the easiest way to create and maintain a system backup which doesn't rely on proprietary software and could immediately be called into service as a fall back if the main drive failed? in theory i suppose i could just clone the entire drive every few weeks, but i'd prefer a more efficient approach, like just using rsync to update only the files that have changed.

>>
>>100039708
If this is a brand new PC then IIRC a stock IoT LTSC 2021 ISO will actually not boot because the secure boot keys have changed. So you may have to turn secure boot off to initially install it, then you can turn secure boot back on if you want because the new keys would've been added during first updates. Besides that, just get the ISO, flash it to a USB with Rufus or Ventoy, boot into the ISO, go through all the usual shit and when you get to the disk select screen open up the shift+f10 cmd and run diskpart's clean command on the disk to wipe all formatting/partitioning data so you can install it to a clean unallocated disk. Should install fine. Also make sure if you use Rufus that the filesystem is FAT32.

Could someone help me get a clear answer for this, the microshit forums seem very confused about this.

I am currently running W10 Pro. Before the W11 shitshow begins next year, I want to do one of two things. 1) which is more desirable, is to move over to a fresh W0 IoT LTSC 2021. Forgetting that, then 2) go to a W11 IoT LTSC when it drops later this year.

Within the first option is where my question lies. If I make a backup using the W7 Backup and Restore tool that is still present in W10, can I use that in my new W10 IoT LTSC to back up and have everything as it was, except of course in the new channel? If not, could File History do this? I want this to be as same as possible as I have a lot of shit and it's not economically (work) feasible to do a fresh install and go through everything. Though, I can back everything up as I have enough HDD/SSD space for that.

For the 2nd option, would anyone recommend just waiting for that and doing a fresh install, and fuck it just doing things manually?
>>
>>100039964
You could move to IoT LTSC 2021 right now and then move to IoT LTSC 2024 when it officially drops in October as LTSC releases can in-place upgrade to the next one. You'd just have to make sure to backup everything because LTSC needs to be cleanly installed, it can't be upgraded to from GAC/SAC editions. You could use something like FreeFileSync to move everything over to another drive like an external or something.
>>
>>100039964
What is that? Sauce?
>>
>>100040022
That's what I was thinking, ok thank you I'll do that and then do in place when W11 IoT LTSC drops.

As for the system as it is now, I have some shit installed like scripts, and some software from some dogshit companies that I need (for work) that cannot generate new keys on the fly for authorization. So, I'd like to basically do a copy and paste of this computer (W10 Pro) to a fresh install of W10 IoT LTSC. If I need a third party way I'll do it, but I am wondering if I can just do backup and restore (W7 tool that's still in W10). I am assuming that because they are on different channels, it might not be possible, would you know if that's true?

>>
>>100040233
I'd say it doesn't "support" it because it's one of the ones that have e-cores in them, which 10 doesn't support (it treats them like p-cores so it can lead to chugs.)

Yeah, 10 doesn't support e-cores at all across any edition. If you haven't felt anything chug-worthy then I guess IoT LTSC 2021 would work fine.

besides just copying and pasting all my shit (non-image backup), is there anything else I could do to basically just copy over all my shit to a new W10 IoT LTSC? its looking like I should just bite the bullet. thanks anon for your help.

one last q - I have two NVME SSDs, and some internal HDDs and SSDs, will that be a problem when doing the clean install? i.e. once I boot up the ISO for W10 IoT LTSC, will it be an issue or can I just select that drive and do the boot there? thanks again!
>>
>>100040681
Something you can do is use diskpart to set all your data drives to an offline state while keeping the original install drive online so you don't accidentally wipe them, though you'll know which one is the original system drive when it has a "system/reserved/primary" etc. set of partitions. Also a good idea to do this so no system files "accidentally" land on one of the data drives.
>>
>>100040681
>literally why even sell this fucking CPU lmao
E-core CPUs were made with 11 in mind, which actually uses them properly. So that pretty much means when you move to IoT LTSC 2024 in the future your CPU will actually run as it should from then on.

So if im using windows 10 after the end of support it means they no longer send security updates right and you are vulnerable to hackermans?
>>
>>100044440
After October 2025 every 10 edition that isn't LTSC will stop receiving cumulative updates, though extended updates will exist like they did for 7. Some group out there will probably crack them and make them free just like with 7 I'm guessing too.
>>
>>100044440
Windows 10 Home will be recieving security updates until October of 2025. After that point you will have to pay for a subscription if you want to still use Windows 10 despite it no longer being supported for mainstream home users. If you don't want to pay a subscription you can pirate Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC which will get security updates until 2032. Or you can just be normal and update to the new version, like you'd do on a android phone or a macos/ios/chromeos machine.
>>
>>100044473
I could just get Windows 11 but it looks very confusing maybe i can just change some settings and it looks the same
>>
>>100044501
11 isn't any more confusing then 10 is.
Just get the Enterprise or Education version and you'll be fine.
>>
>>100044501
If you just update all of your settings will stick so you won't really need to do any tweaking or worry about anything. It's just a UI getting a new layer of paint and making some small changes. Moving the start menu button to the left and just continuing to use the same old programs you used before won't really change your computing at all. Keep in mind that most W11 hate comes from incredibly autistic manchildren that will move to it instantly the moment W12 comes out and they have something new to hate on and be contrarian about. So just don't worry about shit that doesn't matter and use your W10 PC until October 2025 and then update with a single click and don't worry until W12 comes out in 2030.

If you wanna stick with 10 then you should use 10 IoT LTSC 2021. You can get an ISO for it from the OP pastebins.
Just flash it to a USB with Rufus with FAT32 formatting and then boot into it. The 10 setup is very similar to the 7 installer, though I recommend running diskpart through the shift+f10 cmd when reaching the disk select screen so you can use "clean" on the target drive before selection.

Install winget via winget-install. This gives you access to MS Store apps without the MS Store itself:
>Set-PSRepository -Name 'PSGallery' -InstallationPolicy Trusted
>Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned
>Install-Script -Name winget-install -Force
>winget-install.ps1
Type those in a PS session. Then you can install MS Store apps via winget. Just get the name of the app you want from its web version or use winget's search feature to find what you need to type. Package names with spaces between then need to be typed inbetween quotes after typing winget install, which is most MS Store apps.

I... don't have an appropriate pendrive. Haven't needed one since school times but those were 4GB and smaller and can't be used for this.
Would external HDD work? Or should I buy new pendrive? If yes, can it be cheapest thing from nearby shop? I see there are some below 10 bucks.

If you're on Linux you should use Ventoy. That just lets you put the ISO itself on the data partition it makes for the USB then you can just boot into it and boot the ISO directly.

I haven't used the very latest version of Tiny11 that NTDEV has made but IoT LTSC 2021 has been very good to me.
Last time I used it I thought it was kinda jank but NTDEV has said that the latest version is much smoother now. Guess all you can do is give it a shot. Don't like it? Move to IoT LTSC 2021.

Could try using SDIO (https://www.glenn.delahoy.com/snappy-driver-installer-origin/) while using your phone as a hotspot to see if it can get the driver installed for you. The LAN driver being installed from the mobo's support page and it still not working is a puzzle.

I am installing W10 to a disk that is to subsequently have linux installed (which will be the primary OS) and am doing so via ventoy on an older uefi ASUS motherboard. I can't seem to get the installer to launch as uefi, which is required to have an efi boot partition which is preferable or even necessary for the linux install. I can use diskpart to convert the disk to gpt and create an arbitrarily sized boot partition but windows will refuse to install to a gpt disk because the installer is booted in legacy bios. Websearching is getting me nowhere, neither regarding ventoy nor regarding the motherboard. What do?

I'd like to keep Defender on hand to individually scan arbitrary files. I can pull a script from privacy.sexy to restrict it so that it doesn't get in the way? Prior to this evening I haven't installed windows in over a decade.
So, I've reinstalled win 10 ltsc iot two times today. Each time without being connected to the internet. The setup process gives me the option to continue with limited setup without a key or internet.
It never asks me to sign in, but to simply create a local account. I never see the option to join a local domain.
It did ask me how much personal data I wanted to send to MS in a series of questions.
Am I good? I'm in the OOBE now.

Installing it offline with a local account is how you do it, yes. You don't even need to add a password to the account yet either if you want. Turn everything off in the privacy screen and you'll be at the desktop shortly.
