Whoever the fuck came up with "Mouse Acceleration" and why did he think it was a good idea?
>>100164218What are you fucking on about, why wouldn't you use it?
>>100164224It's.... it's not good.
>>100164254>It's.... it's not good.Is this some kind of zoomer or millennial brain damage where they believe other people and repeat what they are saying?
Try using raw input with a ball mouse.
>>100164218Totally agree, I always hated this shit. You move a little fast and the cursor suddenly goes crazy. Seems that a lot of people only knew this shit and think this is just how a mouse works. But at least in Windows there is a checkbox to disable it. In Linux there is not... To disable it you have to use the terminal and enter some lines in a protected file, and the lines are different depending on which distro you use.... How fucking retarded!!!!!!!!
>>100164218
>>100164665>different software works in different wayswell if it isn't milky fucking holmes on the scene, what's next, you're going to tell me OP loves cocks?
>>100164687mouse computer, how could you betray me?
>>100164665I was shocked to learn that KDE finally fixed this at some point, you can disable pointer acceleration in the GUI
>>100164288>gets angry because someone insulted mouse acceleration
>follow instruction on how to disable acceleration in New Vegas>it doesn't work
>>100164218It was me.I did it only to fuck with you, as a joke.
>>100164784Undo it, now.
>>100164784Some men just want to watch the world burn.
>>100164711>different software works in different waysHaving to use the terminal and enter obscure lines in a protected file for something that SHOULD be just a checkbox is not "working differently".
>>100164288He's probably a gamer brainlet. They believe stupid things like mouse acceleration isn't deterministic.
>>100164218>lust inducing image, irrelevant time-wasting question
>>100166315please refer to the actual sentence anon posteddifferent distros having different configuration methods is a given
>>100164254Because you said so?
>>100166590because it detaches your pointer device's position from that of your virtual pointerit's an inorganic shitshow that goes against how we use mice, and it's frankly bizarre anyone ever even came up with it, when its only purpose is to undermine THE reason we use mice, and the main original innovation of mice
https://github.com/a1xd/rawaccelMouse accel can be good if you configure it for yourself
>>100167077>all this for fucking mouse accelerationI understand the necessity of people making programs like this, that there needs to be one lunatic to sperg out over minute shit like this to better the world for everyone else by furthering the technology and understanding; but it doesn't change how fucking loud I sigh when I see it. Like, just do fucking anything else. Hurr hurr I know I'm posting on 4chan, but something about the "productivity" niggers just infuriates me. JUST WORK. YOU DON'T NEED TO ADJUST YOUR FUCKING MOUSE ACCELERATION TO BE IN PERFECT FIBONACCI FOR EVERY FIVE PIXELS TRAVELED. OH NOW YOU'LL START YOUR FIRST LINE OF CODE, OH WAIT SORRY MY KEYBOARD IS IN QWERTY AND NOT DVORAK, ONE MOMENT PLEASEFJFHRYOUREAFUCKINGFAGGOTTHATGETSNOTHINGDONE
>>100168142it's not for "productivity" it's for gaming so you can enjoy the benefits of slow sensitivity and fast sensitivity at the same time
>>100168324If you're playing games, you want to turn mouse acceleration off entirely.
>>100168338yes, if you're talking about exponential acceleration and not controllable, linear acceleration that you can tweak to your ideal with the above tool.it works very well. trust me, i'm a thousand times better at fps games than you are.
>>100164218I like it in games where my avatar's weapons have mass.Sucks for pumpkin-on-a-stick, but like, DoD:s, I can slang that BAR around like a boss.
>try to disable mouse acceleration in Linux>there's still acceleration>spend hours with different ways >still thereYep. Back to Windows.
>>100167077>Mouse accel can be goodHow? Why would I ever need that?
>>100164218You mean "Enhance pointer precision"?
>being such a chronic 4chooner your contrarianism causes you to turn on mouse accelerationYou know for someone who claims to be "immune to propaganda" you sure are easily manipulated by basic reverse psychology.
>>100164218because very slow, low resolution mice suck for moving the cursor substantial distancesit's for crappy mice
>>100164218here's a real, non-bait answer:Mouse Acceleration would make sense on small touchpads. one example: sometime you want to highlight on some long text or dragging a huge selection bounding box, if your initial click-drag on the touchpad doesnt get far enough to highlight the whole thing, you can just pull back your drag slowly, then push forward again quickly so you're now further than where you were before. without acceleration, this manoever will only put your cursor in the same spot repeatably so your only fix is to cancel the drag and increase your touchpad sensitivity for the occasion. but then what if you need fine cursor control later? checkmate, chuds.ChromeOS have this neat feature where Touchpad Acceleration is separate from USB Mouse Acceleration. i have them on and off respectively.
>>100169166linux isn't an operating system
>>100164218Are you one of those hyperactive faggots who has their mouse setup so the cursor moves 1.5 screens if you move the mouse 1 mm?
>>100164254Actually... it is... lil' zoomie...
>>100164218It allows you to move your mouse pointer from one end of the screen to the other without either having to drag your mouse across half the table or having a twitchy ass mouse pointer.
>>100168142bold of you to assume these people have any work to do
on windows it's perfecton linux its impossible

>>100164218Probably the same person who came up with Smooth Scrolling for the mouse wheel.
>>100170727Okay 4chooner... your contrarianism... has rotted your brain...
