is it really incorrect to transcode h.264 to h.265 or is that a meme? I've done transcodes from avc to av1 and I didn't notice anything off with the colors. i'm wondering because a lot of the older vr videos will have h.264 as the original encode but the "optimized" encode will be h.265

Im genuinely curious what the excitement of private trackers are. Been torrenting for the better part of 15 or so years and outside of stuff like very small local bands that have only put an album on 10 cassettes before they disbanded, ive been able to find on rutracker or some other site that ive bookmarked over the years. The fart sniffing to get into some has always really turned me off of it. Although, i think that might just be a "i dont know what i dont know" type of situation.
