AI will kill software engineering jobs - and not in the sense that AI will write code instead of people - though that might happen as well, but in the sense that the extra profits these super rich companies make will be invested towards buying GPUs and AI hardware instead of hiring people at inflated salaries. You know why mechanical engineers don't have these kinds of salaries? It's because companies can buy a new CNC mill from their profits instead of hiring one extra engineer dude at a super high salary, while the capital involved in software firms used to be just the salary. Now that's going to change and pay will go in the shitter.
