The M1 Macbooks don't have the cuck notch, so are infinitely more usable.
>>
they bought up half the industry of chip designers thinking that they could force performance-conscious users onto their platform but (a) the IP moat that NVidia and Intel holds is larger than they anticipated and (b) no performance-conscious user would be caught dead in a walled garden (just buy more cpus if you need them), so they ended up firing the team and coasting on rebranding their chip designs.

There were m1 Macs with only 8gb of soldered memory which makes them obsolete at launch but it doesn't matter anyway since SSD is also soldered and will die eventually.

Why do you need to compile the Linux kernel on an M1? I don't see the usecase.
