isn’t that a redundant statement?

>>101207445I'd like to INSERT my record into her database, if you get my drift.
i have no idea what the fuck a relational database even is. i dont even know how to program beyond the most basic shit in python and html/css. the most technically impressive thing i've ever done with a computer is tinkering with shitty old gtk2 themes to make them work on MATE. i consider being able to build a functional desktop system from a minimal debian image a major feat. i exist in a purgatory between the realms of computer proficiency and complete normalfag retardation. worst of all, computers are the only thing i'm interested in despite knowing very little about how they work beyond surface-level knowledge.
>>101207445based. I too love them so much I started writing my own. so far I only have basically a sql interpreter (not much of data storing, indexes, query optimization or anything) but it's been very fun
>>101207604chin up anon, the average dbafag has probably never heard of mate, much less ever done it before

>>101208122that's fair. i did earn a testout IT cert in high school but it only taught me baby shit>>101208367true, dont a lot of people use excel? lmao>>101208680i just graduated high school, 18
Oh I can put a quick fucking halt to that love.

>>101207878That's interesting. Anything published?
>>101213891yes but under my real name so I can't post it
SQL is shit.
>>101207471>yes, hello, I'm DynamoDB, I'm a totally different storage mechanism and not just a key-value store with two keysObviously Redis is good for what it's good for, but sometimes queries require real time aggregates.
>>101208710>i just graduated high school, 18then you dont have to worry, if you can tinker with linux you're far above your peers. if you want to learn about relational databases, get a copy of "PostgreSQL Introduction and Concepts". it's a somewhat old book, which means it's ideal for a newbie since it doesnt get into the new fancy stuff but tells you about the fundamentals. you can get a used copy for pennies.
