>>101209768netgate pfsense gang
>>101209768god i want serial port on all my appliances
>>10120976899% of routers have serial ports, they just don't expose them for normal people

>>101209813why use netgate instead of a custom build PC? They can cost the same (pretty sure!!)

>>101209752nothing, nigger doesn't understand the use-case of Owrt and thinks it's like custom roms in android.also, ignore anyone that brings up trannies completely unprompted, those kind of "people" belong to /pol/ for making the tranny situation worse
>>101210952andriod custom roms are good though...
>>101208274this, i have an HP T520 thin client (6W AMD x86 SoC) and it's the fastest router i've ever owned
>>101210952You will never be a woman
>>101209768all routers have an internal serial portrouters are computers, routing is a software task. you typically install openwrt over the network though, such as via TFTP, exact instructions for a particular router is on the openwrt website
>>101210723most of the time you don't need to use the serial port to install it, or even open your routerbut if you want to use the serial port you can (idk about installing openwrt via it, but for other uses like a linux serial console, sure)
GL-MT6000 is currently the best openwrt router. If you want more you need to use an actual x86 system
>>101207979works on my machine>>101208135i have a bagful of those. the older versions are spamming of a potential RAM size issue buti enjoy a good uptime nevertheless, with the usual hangup- followed powercycle once in a blue moon. I have used the xiaomi routers and tplinks with stock rom and it's a retarded nightmare , configurability and stability is shit.openwrt is like a gift from heaven.Flashing process of the mi router 4a was fun. A 1337 haxx0r experience. The welcome screen greeted with ascii art saying "are u OK?" iirc.
Is it better to buy a router or just stuff some extra NICs in an old PC?
