Why is this so fucking difficult?
>>
>>101216072
Making pixel art can seem intimidating at first, but with enough practice you can master it.
>>
>using troonbric
>ever
Ive only ever used forge, but I'm just not going to switch is all. You are coding an java either way so it's going to be shit. At least forge pretends to have documentation.
>>
>>101216157
>troonbric
He doesn't know
>>
>>101216157
I thought the fabric devs were hecking bigots or something and that's why quilt was created, or maybe I'm misremembering? I don't care about modding drama, fabric has sodium and other mods that give me way better performance than optifine so whatever.
>>
>>101216606
Forge - based
NeoVagina - cringe
Fabric - based
Trannuilt - cringe
>>
>>101216072
Who cares the game hasn't been fun since citybuild died and modern modpacks almost all suck ass.
>>
>>101216138
It's about a game for toddlers called minecraft
>>
>>101216072
It's not althougheverbeit. It's extremely straightforward to use once you figure out the basic toolchain and configure the buttons in your IDE. You can just make a default empty project with the boilerplate and clone it in your IDE anytime you want to make a new mod. You are using an IDE, right?
>>
>>101216950
correct
>>
>>101218043
Yes but I keep getting an error about missing client mixins or some bullshit. Why can't it just work?
>>
>>101218591
Maybe read the documentation for the tool you are using (mixins) and read the wiki page about client/server separation and configuration before you continue
>>
>>101218908
Why should I? Why can't it just work?
>>
>>101216606
Kek that's correct apparently. Quilt is literally just Fabric for trannies. I don't want to hear another thing, only using fabric from now on.
>>
>>101219073
>why can't the programming language do the correct thing magically when I enter incorrect code that doesn't make sense?
>>
>>101219135
I was wondering why no mods are made for quilt, this is update the readme levels of spite fork, lmao.

>Oh you've been working on a mod for 1.19?
>We just released 1.20 chud, clean up your codebase codejanny
>Did I say 1.20? I meant 1.21. Nobody wants a 1.20 mod anymore
Its all so tiresome. I have half finished projects for 1.12, 1.15, 1.16, 1.18, 1.19, and 1.20.
Has anyone used the Architectury API? Does it just magically port everything or do you still have to versionchase.
>Code Faster
No.
>>
>>101220532
It continues to baffle me why Mojang makes life hell for the only people keeping their shit even halfway relevant.
>>
>>101220788
Literally every good mod for nuversions are ports that are kept on life support with a team of trannies. Everyone else got fed up with versionchasing and left.
>>
>>101220788
I want factorio inside my block game
A requiem for a dream
>>
>>101220815
Well that explains why modpacks that aren't just rlcraft + whatever random shit have all but gone extinct.
>>
>>101216072
It's not, at least when you use something like multimc launcher.
>>
I stopped playing MC years ago I came back and suddenly nobody is using Forge and everybody switched to Fabric. What happened?
>>
>>101220788
It's easier to stick with a single version forever, 1.20 because it has cherry trees and it's not like new versions offer any worthwhile features that top what is being added by mods.
>>
>>101221009
Fabric has a bunch of vanilla optimization mods that are so much better than optifine, the shader loader is handled by iris if you still wanna make your gpu scream.
>>
>>101221183
That's what the group I'm a part of ended up settling on. A beta 1.7.3 server, a 1.4.7 modded server and a 1.20 server with just a few plugins. The least played on version is unironically 1.20, sure the world gen is nice and all but the charm of earlier versions is completely gone and then there's the chat report bullshit.
>>
>>101221498
Any server worth a damn disable chat signing and makes the default client give you that chat signing disabled popup upon logging in.

>used to play modded MC all the time
>quit because nobody could agree on which versions to write mods for
>years later there are like 4 different mod loaders now on top of that
none of this would've happened if there was an official mod api since the beginning
>>
>>101221849
Microsoft would love to axe java edition altogether but they know they can't because all the players are now adults and would likely just make a drop in FOSS replacement for Minecraft that would work with the existing ecosystem of mods.
I can't believe kids pay for mods and resource packs on bedrock with real fucking money.
>>
>>101216950
I really, really hate NeoForge shills.
90% of them haven't even used it but will tell you to because "It runs better!"
I don't care, NeoForge can run 1000% better and it doesn't change the fact that it only supports a few 1.20+ versions. Until they have the huge back catalog of versions that Forge has (will take years) they can't even be considered a competitor.
>>
>>101216072
are you talking about mixins? I learned about mixins thanks to fabric, otherwise it's just forge without the bloat.
>>
>>101222166
I pray every day for mojang to drop java edition.

Mods will finally consolidate to one version, and modders can spend 1 day a year porting in mojangs """""features""""".
>>
>>101221849
too bad patchwork never got finished
>>
>>101222166
they're not stupid, they know modding is the only thing that keeping the game community strong 15 years after release, all the youtubers are playing heavily modded java edition, discontinuing it would lead to a super smash bros melee situation where the community and competitive scene refuses to move on from an old ass version of the game because they didn't like the direction of future versions.

>>101222362
nobody will seriously try to compete with forge for old versions. 1.7 is huge, but it's been kept on life support for almost 10 years now by optimizers and tinkertrannies. what would even be the point?
you might as well try to compete with windows 95 in the market for computers made in 1997
>>
>>101224712
nvidium disables itself if iris shaders are running, making it basically worthless, I can't go back to the stock flat lighting model without even any attempts at volumetric light.

>>101224745
you're not missing anything, I didn't notice any improvements in chunk loading even with iris turned off with a 1650, sodium is the real crowning jewel of modded minecraft, literally tripling your performance and maximum GPU utilization, leaving you far more headroom if you do want to play with shaders or other mods.
