I’ve been looking at laptops for school (cybersecurity) and some personal use (music production). I have a thinkpad t460 but the screen on it sucks for reading and it’s not powerful enough to run daws and process modelers like helix native. The Lenovo I’m looking at is the 14” OLED Yoga with 16gb ddr5, 512ssd and snapdragon elite. Screen is absolutely gorgeous, better than the MacBook. MacBook Pro is the 14” with m3 pro 18gb unified memory and 512ssd. Cost is a huge factor, the Lenovo is 1200 vs 2200 for the MacBook. But with MacBook I get a better software suite for my hobbies, better gpu, and AppleCare in case I destroy it for some reason. I’m heavily leaning toward the MacBook even at twice the cost but just wanted some opinions before I pull the trigger.
if your computer is making you lots of money get the macbook. if you’re just toying around stick with the lenovo

The Lenovo, at best, is a beta product. It will be crippled by the Snapdragon in perpetuity. At least on the Mac you'll get "better" compatibility for apps. A normal person would just get an x86-based laptop though.

The snapdragon is a first generation product from lenovo while the macbook is already on its 3rd generation M series chips (as far as I know). Pay a little more and get a reliable machine, the savings you get from going with the cheaper option won't matter if the machine is buggy and you can't get your work done/

I have a Mac and for the most part it’s a great machine. It’s reliable, good resale value, syncs with my phone and AirPods, etc. Pure productivity, I think Microsoft has it beat. But as a package, you can do no better than MacBook.
