are Aeron Herman Miller's really peak chair tech?

>mesh
seems like it would sag easily over time
>>
the aeron sucks because of the plastic rim around the base of the seat and the back of the chair.
>>
>>101220663
I use a steelcase leap v1 highback where the back is mesh but seat is cloth with a foam core and the wheels are pretty much roller blade wheels. I will never use any box store chairs again especially since this was from a refurbishment place that had it on sale for $400.
>>
>>101220663
i like mine, but it's not like i'm trying all the meme ergo chairs out there to compare them
i've had mine for years (and it was used) and the mesh hasn't sagged at all

>>101220686
this is something I imagined would be an issue, especially coming from one of those big padded "executive chairs", but it wasn't. I think it depends on what you're hoping to get out of it and what your expectations are. When I got mine I was shopping for something that would be good for working long hours without my legs or anything else becoming uncomfortable. this chair definitely exceeded my expectations for that. Dunno why it works, but it works. if you're looking for something that you can sit in all kinds of funny positions in, this probably isn't it

Just get a recliner.
Get a recliner or a standing desk if you're a huge faggot. Sitting down at anything less than 135° for more than an hour or two a day will fuck up your lower back no matter how much you spend on your torture device. Even if you pull back on a typical chair the angle on your legs will kill your blood flow. You don't want blood clots to go with your chronic pain and malformed spine, do you?
So get a recliner,a lumbar cushion, a stool, and get comfy.
>>
>>101220963
I sit like this, but I cross my legs indian style in the seat. Maximum comfy.

I heard the Aeron would shred your pants
I had a couple of Mirras and now I use an Embody
A side effect of reading Herman Miller catalogs is that I instantly recognized Greta Thunberg’s parents’ Eames lounge chairs and instantly wrote her off as a crazy-rich puppet instead of a normal middle-class puppet

How do I adapt a recliner to a regular desk?
>>
>>101227141
What chair would you recommend then?
>>
Haworth Fern mogs all Herman Miller chairs.
>>
>>101226151
It does though. Happened to me on 2 separate chairs within 1-2 years after I had bought them. And I'm not even that fat (180/90). It becomes really uncomfortable to sit on for the whole day after it happens.
For some reason all chairs that I use daily are getting destroyed in one way or another. Aeron was not an exception, unfortunately.
>>
>>101227158
I don't know, I don't think the perfect chair out there exists yet. Maybe I should make a kickstarter for designing the ultimate (relatively) AFFORDABLE high end modular office chair for ergonomics and versatility.
>>
>>101227161
They look nice but they cost over 1k easily
>>
>>101227161
This looks nice, just needs a seat cover to prevent staining

I just hate how expensive these things are... they're like hyper printer ink autism prices
>>
>>101227166
>>101227173
People drop 1k on components or devices that don't last more than 2-3 years before becoming outdated. 1k for a chair that will last 10 years and be used for 12 hours a day is a deal in comparison
>>
I've had an Aeron for 10 years and it's over 20 years old, the sag is at the point where I can still easily get my hand between the seat and the bottom plastic piece.

I'm intrigued to know if anyone else has seen a saggier chair. I think it was slightly less saggy when I bought it, but it's hard to remember. Barring a rip, I'd expect the chair to take another 20 years to sag enough to actually hit the seat cushion. I paid 250 bucks for this chair, and if it broke I'd buy a replacement part in an instant, I've seen nothing else on the market that comes close to this price performance ratio.

I have an aeron remastered size B (6' tall). It's ok, but nothing to write home about imho.

The Steelcase Leap is a genuinely better chair because it doesn't cut off circulation in your legs. Slightly better chairs than it probably exist, but then you're paying way more than the $400-$600 the Leap goes for refurbished.

It's worth the expense if it's something you spend a lot of time on. Good bed, good couch, good task chair is all you need furniture wise. Everything else can be IKEA trash.

I want a desk designed for standing at (I am 6'6"). the desk would NOT be able to be lowered to a traditional height. instead, when I want to sit, I would sit on a rolling padded container (imagine a seat without a back that can roll around). the container would hold my life's possessions, and would situate me at a height for using the desk while squatting or sitting cross legged.

I bought this when I used to be earning more money than I knew to do with. It's the altwork chair. It's like a workstation that moves around every position of your spine. I'm a software engineer who has issues with focus which can costs me tens of thousands of dollars if not more. So I invested heavily in everything I could possibly think of to try improve how I work.

I don't really use the Altwork for work any more. All of the code I write is done in bed leaning up against the wall with a pillow. The second place I've worked from in the past is couch a couch laying down on it. I've written tens of thousands of lines this way and find it the most comfortable position for me. I really don't know how people manage to work from desks. It just makes me tired then I can't focus on doing the work.

So my process is basically:
- Get plenty of sleep
- Drink a shit load of coffee to wake up
- Write some beautiful code from bed
- Keep stress and anxiety to a minimum by being patient and allowing yourself not to be perfect
- Don't ever rush, take things slowly, the startup approach of going fast and breaking things just leads to more problems than its worth

Small wooden platform underneath with rollers, desk with no "back" so your legs can extend, wide chair opening for room to get under it, a simple plank of wood to sit in your lap or across the arms of the chair for keyboard+mouse.
>>
>>101227185
>that will last 10 years
I don't believe it. 105lb faggots and women that daintily alight their clapped haunches on chairs in an office high rise is not the use case.

>he identifies objects by association of celebrity

>>
>>101220686
the plastic rim is uncomfortable in a few sitting positions but in most normal positions it isn't a problem. I've never found my Aeron uncomfortable in all the decade I've owned one.

I even do it at the office. We're in open concept hell so I just brought in a literal kotatsu, four cushions and a small square carpet. It got a few laughs at first but now 3 other people unironically sit with me and one of them isn't even a dev.
